The Brotherhood of Iislam that Gandhi was talking about...

``Syeds in South Asia had better resources and readily intermarried (ofcourse with the upper caste converts or the foreign origin Muslims). Even in the arab world Syeds were not allowed to marry outside, for example until 1940`s in Egypt it was lawfully illegal for a Syed to marry outside, this holds true in most other Arab countries too. ``

Looks like Syed`s ancestor was a Brahmin convertee. The caste prejudice definitely stayed on in his genes. HAHAHA!!

Kafirs and other forms of low-life have more fun in this life. Syeds and Brahmins and other forms of non-low-life promise more fun in the next life.

There is something wrong in this if you take this and convert it into a mathematical equation.

And my point was?
Every 1200th person (desi Syed) in the world can`t be descended from a single person mere 1400 years ago. It would also mean that all rajputs, all jats, all brahmins, all khatris, all untouchables, all jews have descended from one each of the above identifications, some 1000, 2000 or 3000 years ago.

hamidm:
I voluntarily agree to stop this discussion.....no more post from me on Syed topic.

It is hard to imagine anything that is more racist, hierarchical, exclusionary, self-absorbed and just plain nonsensical than your beliefs. Compared to them, indian casteism or european distinctions between peasants and commoners are quite egalitarian. Keep uo your pompous and narrow-minded prattling ! It is certainly good for a belly laugh ! It will keep the rest of us healthy and relaxed.

[quote]
Look there is no doubt that there are quite a few syeds sho are fake, but it`s a logical fallacy to claim that if few are fake then by default all are fake.
Your argument that the other Syeds found in other parts of the Muslim world are much fewer than in Indo-Pak, can also be rationally explained. If you study population growth, then you will realize that change of geagraphy plays an extremely important part in population growth due to the different limiting factors. Hence it would be incorrect to compare the situation of Syeds in other parts of the world with the Syeds of South Asia.
The situation with the agakhanis and the druze is very different and an incorrect analogy, because agakhanis and druze were isolated from the mainstream Muslims due to their beliefs, hence they could only marry amongst themselves, and were not allowed into most Muslim countries. This makes a big difference, because Syeds in South Asia had better resources and readily intermarried (ofcourse with the upper caste converts or the foreign origin Muslims). Even in the arab world Syeds were not allowed to marry outside, for example until 1940`s in Egypt it was lawfully illegal for a Syed to marry outside, this holds true in most other Arab countries too.

Msouza:
You are a kafir, and please don`t disrespect the progeny of our rasool e kareem Muhammad saws.

Stuka:
This camel herder is the same person who is revered by more 1.3 billion of the world population. A great historian once said a great man should be judged by three tests: Was he found to be of true metel by his contemporaries ? Was he great enough to raise above the standards of his age ? Did he leave anything as permanent legacy to the world at large ? This list may be further extended but all these three tests of greatness are eminently satisfied to the highest degree in case of Prophet Mohammad.
The Encyclopedia Brittanica says that ``Mohammad is the most successful of all Prophets and religious personalities``.
This is what some of your greatest hindu leaders have said:
Miss. Sarojini Naidu speaking about of Islam says, ``It was the first religion that preached and practiced democracy; for in the mosque, when the minaret is sounded and the worshipers are gathered together, the democracy of Islam is embodied five times a day when the peasant and the king kneel side by side and proclaim, God alone is great.`` The great poetess of India continues, ``I have been struck over and over again by this indivisible unity of Islam that makes a man instinctively a brother. When you meet an Egyptian, an Algerian and Indian and a Turk in London, it matters not that Egypt is the motherland of one and India is the motherland of another.``
Mahatma Gandhi, in his inimitable style, says ``Some one has said that Europeans in South Africa dread the advent Islam -- Islam that civilized Spain, Islam that took the torch light to Morocco and preached to the world the Gospel of brotherhood. The Europeans of South Africa dread the Advent of Islam. They may claim equality with the white races. They may well dread it, if brotherhood is a sin. If it is equality of colored races then their dread is well founded.``

There are plenty of examples, but this should suffice, this camel herder was the greatest man on earth, accepted by both kafirs and muslims alike.

Dude, is your claim to fame the fact that you may have been the progeny of an Arab camel herder called Mohammed? That is what your religion is based on??? Hell, Kafir is then a mark of pride for us then.

ok I can live with the figure of 5 million Syeds in Paksitan; which puts male syeds figure in and around 2.5 million. There are 101 districts in paksitan and dividing this figure gives us approx. 24,500 male Syeds per district. This seems to be a pretty reasonable estimate of the strength of diaspora of 70 generations not excessive. And your point was?

It seems like you missed the boat. We are not discussing whether Syeds are superior. Caste system is not sanctioned by our religion, and thats not the issue here. Others touching a Syed is also not sanctioned in our religion, as a matter of fact it is a sin. You on the other hand do practise the caste system, which is sanctioned by your religion. All that bull crap of manu smiriti not being part of the hindu religion is again a load of ``tatti``. So learn to understand the difference between what scriptures say and what people practise.

put up or shut up .........

...... there is a very simple way to decide this silly syed issue - DNA testing .......... let`s find a ``real`` syed - could be prince abdullah or his uncle or some bedouin shephard in the desert outside mecca - and set up the syed standard......... than everyone who claims to be a syed should have his DNA matched to this standard and those who fail should be beheaded for impersonating the prohet`s relatives ............ those who pass should be sent back to mecca so that they can they can be with their own people - we don`t want them .............

........... next we can do the same thing with the qureshis, alvis, abidis and all these other arab wannabes............ good riddance to bad rubbish!

I am suggesting that Pakistan has around 5 million or so claimants of Syed origins, not 1 million and I don`t even buy a lower number of 1 million. How about rephrasing: ``most people with Syed surname are not Muhammad`s descendants``

Honorable_syed:
Here you go again. What has respect got to do with progeny? Your wish to be respected for that reason is not going to work here beyond Asif Naqshbandi. Do you think that no Syed claimant ever converted to another religion or became Kafir? Please read Sikh history as see many many local sufis joind him due to similarity with Guru Nanak`s message.

At least I am not under any compulsion to call others `kafir` if they don`t have same religion as me. And that is a great bonus of being a kafir..that I am allowed treat others equally

Okay, I admit that I dont get it. In the previous posts as a rebutal to my post On Syeds you and SR were arguing that there cannot be as many Syeds as they seem to be and now you are arguing vhemently that there are more Syeds than I estimate. Yaar siddha bande dey putar haar admit kar lay kay you hate Syeds; as a matter of fact you hate everything that is even remotely related to Muslims - aina yehn khaana paan di ki loR ay. You try to base your contentions on reason and logic and yet fail to - such is the power of prejudice.

Generally, a good commentary, however your comment ``Unfortunately, there is now a parallel Islam in existence. It is based on literature that has been written by professional priests. and what follows it is grossly unjust and dishonest.

None of the four jurists of Sunni Fiqah i.e. Imam Malik, Hanifa, Shaf`i, and Hanbali and Imam Jafar Sadiq of Shia fiqah were professional priests. They were teachers. All of them suffered horrible fates at the hands of the Caliphs of their times because they plainly refused to compromise on juristic issues with the establishment and Caliphs. Imam abu Hanifa was flogged in public several times so viciously that his flesh would fall off his body. He raised his voice against Hajaj-the legendary cruelest person in Muslim history-right in his court. He probably died while incarcerated. All other Imams were also flogged and incarcerated but never compromised. The fiqah (law & jurisprudence) that these Imams have given us is the greatest gift and Muslims will always be indebted to them for etrenity. Please read a good book on the life and achievement of these jurists and then judge them.
