Here is an unbeatable single scientifically-proven sentence loaded with more wisdom than all the revelations, cognitions, tricks, myths and remedies regarding longivity and healthy life.
Eat less, live longer
Eat less, live longer

I liked your style and the ``raciness`` of the description. It is a battle which needs to be fought at all times since losing excess weight is the first step, which is not so difficult, it is maintaining it at the desired level that is when the real battle starts. Good luck and ``no`` to those tasty bits which somehow assume gargantuan proportion when ingested, against all the
normal scientific rules. :(

Tidbit: Congratulations! Both on shedding the unwanted and writing such a refreshing article. You deserve a pot of roast for it! ;)

Why take this as personal account of her? This might just be a story writing with a plot. She can write a story as easily as a personal account with her decent command of putting things together, when she is not playing dholki on weddings.
All these chowk articles about big feet, pretty feet, hairy legs, stinking bodies and overweight are common topics and can be used without weaving the story around self. I have feeling that sobia, scout, tidbits and anNy just write about these things and creating an image to keep the chowkies youngsters with bad oral hygiene away.

Good job. Regular exercise and reasonable diet is indeed the key to leading a successful life in my view. Not only does exercise give you a nice toned up body, with muscles instead of fat, it also make you look better in terms of a better looking skin (due to increased blood flow). A number of serious diseases of later life are also prevented (cardio-vascular, cancers, kidney problems and so on).
Also, you feel good due to release of endorphins by the brain. You feel good about yourself, and are ready to take on the world. As you grow older, these affects last you. Keep it up. The gym is a great place to go and if you have one close by your home and you can afford it, then that is definitely the place to go. However, even without a gym, simple jogging and walking are fine.
The best combination is aerobic plus stretches plus weight training (although dont let the best scare you away from doing even a little, since a little goes a long way in terms of health benefits). You start stretches when you are young, and your joints remain in great shape even as you grow older. Start when you are older, and you still loosen up the body. Do pilates as well - I strongly recommend that. They are great for getting your back and abdomen in shape, since they exercise certain abdomen muscles that are not exercised normally.
Anyway, congratulations and keep it up.

Samina
I would like to congratulate you on loosing pounds and keep doing what you are doing.
``That I’m a bewitching goddess. Yes, yes I know this kind of self-flattery is incredibly disturbing and requires serious therapy but there is more to this madness believe you me. ...``
Believe me I can understand the feeling and no you don`t require any therapy. This kind of an attitude is only going to keep you motivated and focused.
I would like to suggest one thing. Make exercising part of your life. As soon as you loose the desired pounds DO NOT STOP exercising like many of my friends do. Make it an everyday part of your life. Infact think of it this way, exercise cuz you want be healthy and not to look like Cindy :)
Keep it up!

Good writing, tidbits. Now I know why you chose tidbits as your nick...:-)
Best way to keep fat away is avoiding too much carbohydrates like roti, parathas, rice, samosas, pakoras and sugar. Eat more meat, fruits, vegetables and some fat instead - Atkins diet. All carbohydrates intake must be burnt in metabolism within 6 hours of intake.
