A couple of years ago IT mania-struck Pakistan aimed at accelerating the pace of progress into various disciplines of life. Soon IT began to spread like a wild fire.

Today, our major cities are in the clutches of net cafes which are growing like poisonous weeds in the rainy season. These net cafes remain open till late in the night and many are working round the clock. They are crowded mainly by children and young people. The matter of deep concern is that these people are highly eager to explore the most provocative pornographic sites and are found busy in sexy chatting.

According to an analysis, all websites contain less relevant material on various branches of education than sex. Our society is vulnerable enough to all sorts of invasions. We have a history of sufferings from various forms of menaces. Who will rescue the nation from the massive flood of sex-on-net?

This is a serious problem that is escalating on a day-to-day basis and leaving a deep impact on children`s moral behaviour. Your child needs help. You can help him.

censorship on internet is not the only solution to block the ways to access pronography, what aboutt the print media and X-rated films which r easily available in the markets.
anyways its really important to make our people aware that its not the only entertainment aavailable on net.the whole new world is there waiting for u ..go and explore it!
the perception about internet among the people specially eldelry people..is that one always use it for chatting...or to view objectionable material on net
thats absolutley a wrong and incorrect way of thinking.....as few sick persons have made them think that way.

I think the problem of making money on the internet is not limited to Pakistan. This is obvious from the dotcom bust. Only a tiny handful of companies have flourished on the internet. And even here there are often significant investments in ``real facilities`` - thus, for example, Amazon has an imaginative purchase order system that enables it to rapidly ship books and other things ordered online from huge, strategically located warehouses. And despite all this imagination and venture capital, Amazon has been struggling to make a profit.

Having said that, I agree that the Pakistan government should find better use for its time and scarce resources than meddling with internet access.

you are a pathetic pagal, especially if you live in pakistan. Internet cafes have private rooms where the sayeds and abdul pakis can have what is denied to them in the society. Posters in the street corners are about jihad, any female face is blackekned. Thnk of the effect os polygamy, the rich and not so famous collects the females, what is left for the ugly poor abdul, it is porn on the web, have mercy on him.
Now thnk of the mullah, only way he can make the offer of 72 houris after death as an attractive option is to deny even the pictures of the women while alive. The mullahs in general are known for hoarding the females, again a reasonable step to keep up the shortage of houris in real life.
Ultimately, you have to realise that any technilogy will be used by the society to reflect its social values. Thnik of education in pakistan, read cowsjees aerticle on the curriculum requirements, it has been used in pakistan to spread hatered. Ask tahmed what that education has done to him.
Internet also will be used for jihadic purpose, porn is one of the most benign use that a pakistani can ever put internet to.
