You probably belong to that group who vacillate between ``love for Pak`` and ``hatred``. It is a disease, especially with those who have had some past links with that country.

I am in a position to be more critical and objective. I have nothing to gain or lose. I am a south Indian with no links to Pak. I am not emotional when it comes to Pak. My best friend in US was a Pakistani, so it is not as if i have anything against the Pakis.
But I need to see the result on grounds. All this lovey-dovey talk makes no sense to me if Paki terrorists keep on killing innocent people and our armymen. When that stops and Pak renounces the policy of jehad against India, it would have automatically become a friend. Until then, i will hold my horses.

I think you omitted the most important factor. The reason why Nawaz and indeed, the world community, panicked was that India was all set to expand the conflict. The Indian army wanted the permission to go into POK and the US intelligence suggested that it was not a mere threat. The responsible Pak media at that time was full of eerie comparisons with the 1965 expansion of incursion into a full-fledged war. If the jehadis were not withdrawn, it would have certainly resulted in the expansion of the war beyond Kargil.

There is more to being a man than being macho. Robert Bruce succeeded against third rate English monarch and despot. If Kashmir is your captured land, how about trying to reclaim East Pakistan ? Try to bring back the Taliban and Bin Laden. What are you afraid of ? B-52s ??

Arjun, since you had been asking this question for a long time, I hope you do mind, because I took the liberity and asked some of the Pakistani soldiers who were at Kargil. They said that when they attacked and took over Indian army food depots, grass was they could find there!

Personally speaking, I do not frown upon the person who hates me, because all they are doing is upsetting themselves and not me! Hate wins, when I response with hatred. Hate is a personal opinion and I opt to disagree with it. What you are calling rationality and neutrality is nothing more than an indifference. It is the indifference, which my friends refer to as the cynic in me. Cynic in the sense that I am always searching for a good person knowing that I will never find them, but that does not mean I should give up the search!
