Mantolives #59 The ``puritan Islam of Arabia`` is Wahabiism. Wahab was a man. Wahabiis are therefore logically in the same category as other kinds of ``man worshippers``.
Look: All I am saying to Naqshabandi is that he needs to use his head. Do you have a problem with that?
You can dislike me because I think your hero worshipping (``Pakistanigraywolf`` and now ``Mantolives`` and so forth) is pretty silly. Naqshbandi can dislike me because I dont buy his references to hazrat this and pir that. The Thakeray brigade from India can dislike me for exposing their hypocrisy and crassness.
That is fine. That is why we are here on chowk. To tell it like we see it. And there are enough real people on chowk for one to have fun and intelligent conversations once in a while.

...most of us who visit chowk frequently are lacking somewhere...let`s face it, normal people don`t get kicks from interacting with strangers on the internet....

Ok so who is this Imran Khan wannabe ... with the Kala Sahib logic?
He has a point though about the status quo before 1798... (read my Tipu/Ranjit posts)... but these ideas of undoing history won`t succeed... British rule illegitmate as it was is part of our History... and our nationstates are Not Bas-tard successor states but simply the result of our history...
Who is to say that pre-1798 consisted of legitimate rule? If you point fingers at the British, it is only a matter of time before someone points fingers at the Mughal rule... and Muslim sultanates... so what are we going to do? Go back to the status Quo ... 710 AD? And if that doesn`t work lets just go back to the time when the illegal invasion of Huns had not yet taken place... and maybe Alexandar too?
So it is agreed then... let us go to the status quo as it was pre-323 BC?
Ok?

Dear Khan sahib
Thank you for the rememberance and for the guided tour of Chowk. Now I know what ‘unplugged’ really is. I was under the impression that it had something to do with flushed out clogged toilets. I’ll have to check it out one of these weeks. And thanks also for explaining I-log. That sounds like one of the better additions.
Re: B Shah #49 [“… all South Asia also includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal... “]
But, but… but… what about Bhutan? You forgot Bhutan? How could you possibly forget such an important country? Also Sikkim and Andaman Islands? Why such blatant discrimination against minorities?
Just because these autonomous entities proudly resist, and have largely escaped (except for poor Sikkim) the illegitimate colonization by the two-headed monster, the demonic-duo, the usurper pair, the bi-polar colonial continuation, the twin slave-empires of Islamabad and New Delhi, it does not mean that they aren’t included in South Asia.
All those who celebrate fifty six years of so-called ‘independence’ from the imperialists need to wake up and realize that the imperialists have only changed their skin color. The charades that took place in 1947 was a mere ‘change of palace guard’ and not emancipation of the people of the sub-continent. It was a cruel farce that simply replaced the Gora Sahib with the Kala Sahib while nothing else essentially changed.
If the British Rule of the sub-continent was illegitimate, and needed undoing, then its creation(s) also need to be undone. Then their successor(s) are also illicit BA5TARD states. Going back to status quo ante, as of 1857 at least, if not even earlier, to say pre-1798, would be a good first step to restore independence, honor, dignity and true autonomy to the rich and diverse South Asian civilization.

Oh so let me get this straight... your criticism of Naqshbandi is not because he is following archaic religious knowledge... but rather that he has strayed from the puritan Islam of Arabia? Tahmed... in that case kindly take out the Holy Quran, the work of Supreme God, and tell me how to interpret 4:34 because this particular verse really irks me in ways I don`t care to mention... Please also tell if 4:34 is applicable to all good muslims, and as a good muslim do you follow 4:34?
Again, none of my questions should in any way be taken as indicative of my personal religious beliefs... I respect your ideas .. but I am beginning not to like your self righteous and contradictory approach to things on this website.

Nqshbandi #41 This is why I say you worship men:
You look towards the writings of these men to tell you what is right and what is wrong, rather than use the mind and the common sense that God gave you for this purpose. I think that is a fair statement based on reading your posts.
Logic dictates then that the works of these men carry more weight with you rather than the works of God. In other words, whereas a muslim is expected to worship (qua Supreme Being) only God, you worship these men.
Please let me know if I am wrong in either my understanding of your posts that I have been reading for a couple of years no, or if there is a flaw in my logic.

Also isn`t a tad bit ironic that some people on these boards who attack others for `worshipping dead people` (based on a misconception) keep on harping about a man who died 1400 years ago, and a book that was written 1400 years ago...??
This should not reflect on my personal religious belief... I am just pointing out the irony.

First people like Naqshbandi were calling people like myself , Hamidm, and tahmed Kafir... that made more sense because one doesn`t expect better from the religious right.. now we liberals have adopted the same tricks... wonderful...

tahmed,
The same old argument I see? Good Muslim is not a Mullah, and a Mullah is not a good Muslim... Hence nothing can be wrong with the religion, everything is wrong with the follower..

sameerjb #46 ``I had lived like a good Muslim for non-stop 6 hours. i did not watch any behooda and be-sharam be-pardah women on TV......``
You mean you lived like a Mullah. A Mullah is not a Muslim. Good, Bad or Ugly. Think about this, and hopefully you will finally get liberated from the brainwashing you received in your childhood. :-)
