reminds of what have said many times earlier:
...there can be no justification of any deliberate violent act against civilians...none whatsoever...be they by individuals, organizations or states...
...my heart and prayers go out to the victims of this blast...and prayers for the perpetrators...whoever they are...that they be caught, tried and punished...courts and justice cannot alleviate the loss of those who have died...but hopefully they can prevent future occurrences...
...must admit this also: the blame game must have started there...and in the ensuing melee the perpetrators would go scot free...like new delhi, bombay 93, gujrat etc... and only the poor the very poor would suffer...hope i am wrong this time...

when i read the news earlier today. . .and saw the blame game already in effect, i thought to myself, of course they will blame pakistan. hello? can we focus more on those whose lives have been lost and those who have lost so much?
words sound hollow often when a tragedy like this occurs. my condolences and prayers to the victims, and the families who have lost loved ones. and yes, those who are responsible for this should be punished.
and i hope that the politicians don`t take advantage of this situation for their own purposes, but that would be hoping for too much from politicians.

``is it ‘preparing for elections’ time? Is this an answer to the no-confidence motion passed in Parliament? Is it some silly peeve against the proposed visit of The Israeli prime minister?``
I have a suspicion that you may have planted that bomb FV. Way you came out suspecting everything ``hindu`` , it seems that you were alreadt prepared to do that. May be you just needed to vent your frustrations and when you couldn`t find anything else, you came up with this idea of bomb blast!!
``The moment I saw that shiny steel box, I knew it spelled trouble. I had no idea of what it contained, but my gut feeling was that it would not be a fair report.``
Definition of a fair report is one that declares that there was no temple. Am I right? Believe me, many hindus would have preferred to get that in the report. Atleast it would have closed the chapter. Now we are back to square one. It will be treated as ``not a fair report``.
``Why can the sadhus sit in on political discussions, but the moment a maulana enters the fray, there is bombast about bearded mullahs holding sway over the Muslim mind?``
Can I ask you a reverse question? Why do you have this bombast over sadhus sitting in political discussions when bearded Maulanas have been holding sway over Muslim mind for a long period?
FV, you are just sick. If some one offers to adopt a child, your first suspicion is that she/he is trying to convert the child. Finding & convicting rapist Jail staff is certainly a good deed. But would you really want that child to remain orphan till that happens? If you are so worried about ``conversion threat``, go and adopt that child.

re: this article
Farzana Bibi has come out with yet another of her stupid, boring articles.
``I knew Monday would happen. Something would happen. It was an eerie feeling the moment I saw the tin box with its padlock being carried into a safe haven to be opened on Monday. It carried over 500 pages of ‘evidence’ collected over a period of five months to ascertain whether the ground beneath the Babri Masjid had housed a temple. The verdict has been changed from what it was mid-way through. They dug deeper, far too deep. They have discovered items that belong to periods between the 10th and 15th centuries.``
Wow. So, Farzana Bibi knew this would happen. Why did she not tell us? What is she implying by the above para? That the recent bomb blasts are due to this ASI`s findings which have not yet been disclosed in court and the court has not yet passed a verdict on it.
And, what does she mean by ``They dug deeper....``. Is that not what ASI is supposed to do? They were collecting evidence of a temple in existence before Babar invaded India and built that mosque. That temple could have been built in 8th century BC for all we know. They stopped digging after they found the evidence. That is my guess. Was there a limit placed on the amount of digging and depth of digging? If there was, i am unaware.
Are the muslims in India (at least the leadership), who said they would abide by court`s decision, ready for this report? I think not. They do not want to know the truth. Ostrich-like, they would want to believe nothing existed prior to thie mosque. I told many monthis ago that when muslims in India have reposed their confidence in Judiciary, they should accept the verdict, whatever that may be. So, my question again: why does Farzana Bibi think that this riot had anything to do with those documents?
I would hope the muslims condemn this act of violence in no uncertain terms and help in efforts at reconciliation. When hatred spreads, political leaders who benefit from it will become active. Already we hear some rumblings from the Shiv Sena leader. Modi will be a happy man. Does he not benefit from this? Of course he does. The more the hatred polarises the community, the more Moditva benefits.
In these hours, healing words of temporal mean a lot to me than this long winded non-sense by Farzana Bibi. I do not know why chowk keeps letting her publish such non-sense. In the whole of this article, in no place does she say she feels sad for the victims. Humanity comes before everything else. I guess one with the brain of a 2 year old would not know that.
Sridhar
I think her I.Q level is gradually slipping and coming close to a 2 year old. Is she suggesting that the bomb blasts are due to some

re: my last post
I think some things that i meant for another post slipped in by mistake in my previous one.
Anyway, here i go:
I think her I.Q level is gradually slipping and coming close to a 2 year old. Is she suggesting that the bomb blasts are due to some documents that have not been released yet. What about SIMI or some terrorist organisations? Does she condemn them? Her article looks like she is blaming the hindus for everything. I guess they need to be blamed for getting killed as well. After all, what were those 3 stupid idiots thinking, posing for a photo in front of gateway of India? They should have known better, right?
Anyway, Farzana Biwi, read the following article to know what it is to face a tragedy:

okay...since i am still around, and still on chowk for whatever reason...at least if you are going to repudiate any of farzana`s claims, perhaps you could try sounding at least less crazy and stupid than you think she does.
try not to attack her for every single line of her article for example. if she knew something was going to happen, that`s just a feeling that she had. responding by `well why didn`t you tell us?` is rather immaturish. as if anyone would have listened to her anyway, had she actually gone out and told someone, anyone. . .well any of you perhaps.
accusing her of planting the bomb is just as sick a thought as whoever thinks she planted the bomb thinks her thoughts are.
and yes, perhaps not directly, but farzana does allude to her emotional state in regards to these events:
`. . .There is laughter. Too much of it. The Topic is avoided, eyes averted. The kids play. I am getting restless. I switch on the TV. There is more news, about death, dying and life going on. `
I don`t know about you, but I get something out of this as to how she`s feeling. People express their sadness and emotions differently. Who are we to imply that farzana has felt no sadness about the tragedy?
if all that is going to take place here is `the farzana bashing and insulting show` then count me out, please. even if what she says sounds incredible to some of you, i think focusing on her and insulting her is taking away from the real issue, the reason this article was written and published in such a timely manner in the first place, and i want to be a part of the latter discussion not the former.
god help us all.

Hi Farzana, this article looks and sounds as though you see everything in a personal black and white of Hindu and Muslim co-existence. Or co-non-existence. As the case may be.
A bomb explodes in Bombay/Mumbai, outside the Gateway of India. Does the bomb differentiate between Hindus and Muslims in the dead / missing / injured lists? Does the bomb decide that most of the small businesses in the Gateway of India that are now going to be impacted for some time at least will be businesses run by a certain community?
Likewise at Zhaveri Bazaar. I am sure you know more people there than I do. Do you think the bomb there would differentiate between people carrying the same surname from the same districts in say Kutch, but practising religions as various as the colours of the stones in their jewelry? Will the bomb be able to give you an idea of the religion of a person showing up in any list as, say, ``A. Mehta``? I don`t know about others, but I know Mehtas from Kutch/Gujarat who could be Hindu, Jain, Parsee or Muslim, maybe even Christian and Sikh if you look slightly further North.
So what am I saying?
I am saying that the religious and sectarian strifes have long since passed the stage of being linked with any particular religious aspect that Ayodhya may have had.
It is now pure and simple dhanda, business, and the control therein.
Tea Lounge at the Taj or Harbour Bar. You think attendance would have been impacted?

Ideas, thoughts - non-committal, disjointed, fuzzy - with an anger, frustration - being forced out of the system.
I like the honesty and the natural flow out ; and the non-preachy style.
But most easy readers may get distracted, fidgety, somewhat irritated at the text which requires concentration, periodically a pause and some times to go back and re-read.
Too much underlying themetic content for an easy reader.

In the Washington Post someone wrote last Sunday that one bomb is an outrage; two is a campaign. He was talking about the bombing in Baghdad and in Jordan the week before. To this we may add that three bombs is war: The third bombing being the bomb blasts in Bombay today, since this bombing carries the same imprints as the previous bombs - a professional job designed to impact on policy. The impact being sought in this case is clearly the sabotage of peace efforts between India and Pakistan through the fanning of hatred towards Pakistan by morons in India. It does not seem to have worked though, since even Advani (who in the past seemed as mad as Jay) was restrained in his statements today. But let`s see how long this restraint lasts.
In the meantime, let us all pray in our different ways for those innocent people who were killed our wounded in this bomb attack in Bombay today.

``if all that is going to take place here is `the farzana bashing and insulting show` then count me out, please.``
Ana bi, no one is counting you in. You are welcome to opt out. Ferzy bibi is inviting all the ridicule to herself by her paranoia. She doesn`t believe ASI report. That is fine. But would she kindly allow supreme court to declare its judgement on its vailidity.
I can also speculate that perhaps it is a well planned operation. I have suspicion People who planned it also had some failed journalists on their payrolls to write articles immediately after blast to flame passions and incite further violence.
Can you write any argument why suspicion is not valid?

.... well, as general westmoreland would say, ``life is cheap in asia``..............when fifty shias were killed in quetta by homicidal sunnis, no one missed breakfast .......... as crude as it might sound, i am sure the indians will get over this by supper time .......... too bad for those who died and those left behind .............

Sadly, anarchy prevails in this messed up world! I do not know if it`s the influence of Mars on Earth or vice versa. Whatever! I think Apes and Dinos should come back and take over this planet. Humans do not deserve Earth!

OK, here are some more confirmed numbers, simply because I still cannot understand Farzana`s references to Muslims wrt the Bombay blasts yesterday.
a) 30% of the injured people are Muslims.
b) Of the dead, they are unable to identify large numbers, and are currently trying to match body parts. Presumably the percentage will be the same.
What for/against Muslims are you talking about, Farzana?
As the man television was interviewing said, ``there are 4 of my family members who were in the shop. Two are in hospital and serious, and two off ho gaye.`` As he then proceeded with their funeral.
