Hassan:
I suggest you talk to HE, who will at least give you a less emotional and more grounded view of Pakistani objectives. Also, don`t take my last post in a bad spirit.

Awww... such pain, such suffering, such agony. This is precisely what I was talking about. My heart goes out to you. Say what you might, but Pakistan has existed since August 14, 1947, does exist, and will inshallah continue to exist irrespective of whether you accept the truth or not. Yes, my friend, it be so.
:-)
As I said earlier:
``I would ask my friends on the other side of the divide to grow up and abandon the wisftul desires that neither their grandparents, nor their parents ever saw come true and save themselves from dying of a broken heart like their ancestors, but sadly, I think enough words have been wasted on deaf ears and minds closed shut.``
In any case, still no response to #120... Sigh.

I see you need education not only in logic but also in reality.
The Pakistan that existed in 1947 D O E S N O T exist.
We know that your military doesn`t teach you such things but the Pakistan of 1947 was more than D O U B L E the size of the civilizational basketcase that you ignorantly call Pakistan today.
That means, M O R E T H A N H A L F the pakistan is gone. The better half, the Bengal, decided that your company wasn`t very good for their health.
What you are holding on to yet is the rump, the deadwood, not the Pakistan of 1947.
The pain of learning history for the first time ....
:)

What a pity you could not hold on to the eastern wing which was rightfully yours
++
This eastern wing was thousands of miles away and ungovernable because of such logistic problems. The Kashmiri wing is right next door and shares a greater cultural bond with Pakistan than India. Moreover, the sentiment over there is immensely pro-Pakistan. You do the math.
What a strange turn of fate that India is now finding itself surrounded by the same Bengali-Pakistani defence alliance that it worked so hard to break. Welcome to the exciting world of unintended consequences!!!

Reasoning and intellectual pursuits are not the forte of Pakistanis. So I will baby you through your reasoning.
You said: minorities in India would gladly live in Pakistan than in India.
I asked you to produce ONE Indian buddhist, Christian, non Khalistani Sikh, Jain, Jew, Parsi or atheist who would rather live in Pakistan than in India.
So you change your tune. You now say what you wanted to say to start with:
`Muslims in India would rather live in Pakistan than in India.`
I told you that that may be the case for some Muslims, because in Pakistan the member of the minority would not be a minority any more. Rather that Muslim will be part of the ruling majority that has created an ISLAMIC republic.
I hope that is not too complex a thought for your intellectual capabilities. So continue to pay attention:
That Indian Muslim will live in a country in which a person faces the death sentence for questioning the perfumne of Muhammad`s armpit.
Is that the truth or not?
Don`t get tied up in knots. Calm down. Is that true or not? Now, continue thinking:
A Muslim wanting to live in Pakistan doesn`t tell anything more than a Hindu in Sindh wanting to live in a Hindu India if it becomes a theocratic basketcase like Pakistan.
So the real question is: will an Indian individual be a minority in India or a minority in Pakistan?
It`s not a trick question. Don`t huff and puff. Think it over. Then answer.

Is Pak ready for such a war? From the recent high level defense purchases and alignment with Israel, India may be finally preparing for such an eventuality. It would continue to prepare until it feels that it has a tactical superiority over Pak.
++
Umm.. seems like Indian ``tactical superiority`` took an overdose of Ecstacy/Vodka during the 8 months of failed mobilization last year. You have absolutely no leverage west of Wagah border. Thats where the might of India`s regional power ends. If you don`t believe me, call up Mr.Ghauri, Mr.Hatf and Mr.Shaheen. Wake up and smell the coffee!

two seperate countries pose more of a threat than a single Pakistan?
++
HEHEHE.. You are lucky Chowk.Com does not force its members to take scholastic aptitude test. Otherwise, ``special`` people like you would end up yawning loudly at South Asia Tribune instead.
Seems like you are not familiar with the concept of two hostile fronts and the difficulty of maintaining supply lines in such an environment. I will let you stew in your blissful ignorance.

Ralph:
People in Pakistan jeapordise their lives by saying blasphemous things ?
How about the citizens of India who didn`t even need to say anything to have their places of worship in Ayodhya torn down and their kith and kin slaughtered.

You may rejoice in the fact that Bangladesh is now an independent state, but if you`re going to extrapolate that to the assumption that Pakistan does not any longer exist, I think you, my friends, are not only in need of lessons in logic and reasoning, but a miracle from God. Stop clutching at straws. Whether you choose to fool yourself or not, I`m sure deep down the truth is gnawing at you.
Pakistan had its rear end ``kicked`` in Kargil ? Personally, I regret casualties on either side, but several thousand Indian troops unfortuantely died during the entire episode (read Time magazine articles on Kargil if you need proof). I think all these insinuations along the lines of Pakistan being at the mercy of the Indian army are quite outdated. Neither country is going to prevail over the other under the present circumstances. HisExcellency has been correct to point out that the conflict in Kashmir is not going to escalate to a full-scale war, because even if the lot of you on this thread refuse to accept it, the generals in the army have a more realistic view of things.

Can a man or woman in Pakistan challange your Mullahs?
++
There was a landmark Saima case in Pakistan a couple of years ago. In this case, the Lahore High Court ruled that under Islamic law an adult woman does not need her parents` consent to marry.

The US government just dropped a bomb on mushy by explcitly asking him to stop cross border terrorism.
++
Mushy has already rejected the term ``cross-border`` terrorism since the border is yet to be drawn. As for cross-line of control infiltration, Mushy insists that UNMOGIP or joint patrolling be initiated to verify if and where the infiltration is occuring.
So there you go. The ball is in the air, or perhaps out of the court.. but definitely NOT in Pakistan`s court. But then, to each his own delusions. Ciao!
