I think your research is biased. If you were going to select among greatest Indians of all times, then how can you forget Mohammad Ali Jinnah. It is a shame that someone with your intellect is so biased and prejudice.

I hate to say it but we, desis, have obsession with finding one on the top of every discpline as the ``Greatest`` with giving too much weightage to past. We often see people saying, Ghalib, Iqbal, Ala Hazrat Raza Barelvi, Musharraf, Jinnah, Gandhi, Amir Khusro, Tansen, Lata Mangeshkar as the greatest and the list goes on and on. Nobody doubts their greatness but obsession with clearly pointing one as greatest has its own drawbacks. It idealizes one, and making only those aspirants break to the top who are copycats of the greatest. Take for example Lata. She was a great singer but her pitch and frequency has become standard for female vocalists and only those who copy her rather unnatural pitch and frequency combination voice like Suman Kalyanpur, Anuradha Paudwal, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Alka Yagnik, Chitra Singh etc can make it to Hindi singing, while women trying to sing in their natural voice like Ila Arun make it occasionally.

So who is the greatest sportsman in USA? Michael Jordan, Jackie Robinson, Tiger Woods, Jimmy Connors,................100 more.

I look forward to seeing field marshal`s list of the greatest.

a pretty stupid set in almost every category - e.g., the author picks tipu sultan over chandragupta who is not even mentioned.
