Chaos out of chaos. What order? I believe that`s what NFP was trying to convay through Acidity. Ingeniously done, sir.

I think NFP ALREADY has became a pakistani kerouac/ginsberg with ACIDITY ... a wonderful example of electrifying experimental writing but which wasn`t really understood by most chowkies. But those who did get it luved it. Keep it up NFP.

Ah, the ever controversial NFP has finally returned. Read all of Acidity. Loved parts 1 & 2, which I think were most insanely wonderful. I found the final part a bit luckewarm though. However, luved your comeback interview at http://www.bandbaja.org/issues/002/
Good to see you aknowledging chowk for you come-back from your painful solitude and reclusion. Hope to see you more of you here.

Pretentious, pointless, meaningless nonsense and garbage.

riffat:

It is not that this is too high-falutin` for readers of this website. It is just that they recognise pompous pretentiousness when they see it.

Why PZ, were you expecting it to be in Punjabi?

Why should I have expected it to be in Punjabi? No, that really would take this ``novellete`s`` pretentiousness, pointlessness, meaninglessness, and pomposity to another level.

Imagine writing such derivative pseudo-artistic supposedly avant-guard rubbish in Punjabi; it would have a certain comedy value, I suppose.

William Burroughs was a sub-standard writer in the first place. A sub-standard imitator of a sub-standard writer is just...well...you work it out.

PZ, since you`re called PunjabyZulu I thought you might`ve liked it in Punjaby ... or better, in Zulu! Oh, well, I DO respect your opinion, eventhough, I think by suggesting William Brroughs to be sub-standard, I wonder what in the world were you doing reading Acidity in the first place?? Okay, tell me if you can, what do you think Acidity was all about (WITHOUT using the many adjectives u have already used)?

Why bother, riffat? The bandbaja write-up on NFP says it all. Throughout his career people have either loved him or hated him. There are no in-betweens. Some thing he`s a genius, while some believe him to be just plain mad! PZ thinks he`s pompus. Well, I too agree he did not get the whole black comedy aspect of the novel, but it`s his opinion.

~~I wonder what in the world were you doing reading Acidity in the first place??~~

Well, because I was passing time and reading it. How can I answer that question?

William Burroughs didnt write a single thing that will last. He was a junkie who wrote junk.

Who thinks that he is a genius? Trust me, anybody who thinks that this writer is a genius is extremely deluded.

Does that mean I`m deluded? Trust me, anybody who thinks that I`m deluded is deluding himself by believing NFP is not a genius and burroughs suck!

I am open to persuasion. Please show me how this novellette and the work of Nadeem F Paracha constitutes literary genius. A few sentences or paragraphs to explain it will suffice.

Acidity is a very important work... it shouts and screams and cuts at what is thought of as unspeakable.... i`m sure its making
many a reader scratch their head, which is a good sign.... (better than scratching their buts!)

There u have it, PZ. Well said CoolHand. But PZ, I never wanted to persuade you, man. If you don`t like Acidity, fine. Like I said, some people think NFP is genius, while some think he`s just plain insane. And some like you think he`s a jerk. We all have our opinions, likes and dislikes. You don`t think the post-modern cutup method used by NFP here is great literature, I think it is, especially due to reasons already given by CoolHand. ... btw, PZ, what do you think constitutes good literature. Jane Eyre? I too am open to persuation.

May God have mercy on NFP. I belive he needs help. Instead of thinking of him as genius or mad , what we need to do is try to help him out of this situation. Lets all pray for him.

~~Acidity is a very important work~~

Important to what? Important to whom?

~~ it shouts and screams and cuts at what is thought of as unspeakable~~

What is it cutting at that is so unspeakable?

trashman;

~ And some like you think he`s a jerk~

I do not think he is jerk. That would be sheer insolence to insult somebody personally because I do not rate their writing. All I said was that he is not a genius, that the idea of him being a genius is laughable, and that the ``post-modern cut up method`` is a nonsense dressed as art.

~~ what do you think constitutes good literature. Jane Eyre? I too am open to persuation.~~

I read Jane Eyre when I was in high school. I can hardly remember it. But you mention it as though it is not an example of good writing. Why is that? There are many writers who I think of as good. Would you like me to list a few of them?

One thing I do know is that the ``post modern cut up method`` and the sheep who use it are as derivative and second hand and conservative as the person that writes an 18th century Victorian novel in the present day. It certainly is not progressive, as it pretends to be, saying ``look at me! i am so radical and avant-guard look how post-modern I am!``

It is laziness under the veneer of radicalism. It has been done. It has nothing to say.

All show and no heart.
