Thanks Zia. Indeed, both possibilities exist. It seems to me that we are on an accelerating collision course with SF fact. It is of course impossible to predict if and when we`ll get to that point, but it`s always fun to speculate. Part of me wants to live long enough to see it happen, and the other part of me hopes the world will still be recognizable to me when I get old. Time will tell.

Nice one, Quinton. Though if Gardner Dozois is to be believed, the death of sf has been predicted with great regularity every decade since 1960. Perhaps your scenario may never come about? Or perhaps it`s just around the corner...?
