rsridhar & arjun

You two guys ought to snap out of post-kargil mind-frame. World has moved lightyears ahead since then. You guys take american approval as a yard stick to measure a nation`s success or failure. By this yard stick if we look and compare India and Pakistan in post 9/11 world then I am afraid to break it to you that each and every Indian policy has failed while each and every policy that GOP has adopted has been successful. I may not agree with it but remember we are using your yardstick to measure performance. Let`s compare both countries on case by case basis.

After 9/11 India tried to curry favor with US and form a coalition with them against Paksitan and Afghansitan and that policy failed. India tried to convince US that Paksitan is the state that supports terrorism but their policy failed once again and Paksitan was able to convince Americans that it is the frontline state in the war against terrorism. It is Paksitan that Americans have chosen to establish their base camps while India`s offer was rejected. India failed again. India brings an army of one million personnel at the Paksitani border to convince world and Americans that Paksitan is a terrorist state, the world and Americans do not take notice. Indian policy fails again. India imposes restriction on flights over its territory, Pakistan does the same. India now admits that it hurt them financially more than Paksitan plus it lost a direct contact to Afghanistan. India`s policy failed once again. India attacks its own parliament and implicates Paksitan in it, the policy backfires. India fails once again. It hijacks its own airliner and tries to implicate Paksitan and India fails again. India kills its own people - sikhs and hindu yatris and implicates Paksitan in it and policy fails. Even sikhs blame their own government for the massacares.

On the other hand each and every Paksitani policy has succeeded. Paksitani President is invited in United States as state guest and stays at Camp David as Mr. Bush`s personal guest. Paksitan`s debt in billions of dollars have been forgiven. And Pakistan is given financiual aid also in billions. Not only that Paksitan is also given arms deal for the next five years. It is given training and equipment to imrove its security. A lot of Paksitani debt by other nations has been rescheduled on easy terms. Pakistan has been given a favored status in its exports both to Europe and North America. The foreign exchange reserve has increased exponentially. Standards & Poors rating of Paksitan has improved. Its law enforcement officials are being trained by world`s best. Paksitan is declared several times as a forward looking, moderate and upward bound state by American and European officials and that includes President Bush also. Each and every resolution that Paksitan presents in security council is approved by overwhelming majority; that includes the resolution on freedom movements as well. Whereas every resolution that India presents has been rejected. By your yardstick everything that Paksitan does is a success story. While everything that India does is a pathetic failure. India is a legend in its own mind while no one else gives a flying guck about it in a post 9/11 world.

You guys oughtta get out more. You need to read newspapars before you put links in Chowk dot com to express your hatred and jealousy to this great nation. Instead of blaming others you should look deep into yourself and figure out what are you doing wrong.

Have a nice holiday now.

``A very interesting situation has developed in the India-Pakistan context.

A “SECULAR” minded dictator is in power in Pakistan who seems to

Enjoy international support and is discouraging fascism in that society.``

There are times I have to honour you as a featured writer on chowk, an impartial observer of the pak society, and not a jihadic mouth peice. Your above quote, in this case you are not reporting, a device you used to deflect responsibility for the content, and is infact expressing an impartial opinion.

Musht has put himself as the ruler as long as he chooses, bythe legal frame work order, he has made so many fundamental changes to the pak rule of law, but never touched the hoodood, the blasohemy laws and honor killing laws, a clear example of his ``secular` minedness.

Ras, hats off to you for your objectivity, and what your 30 years away from pakistan has taught you. You are one of the greatest pakistani to grace chowk.

After reading the above quote from you, this time your treasured opinion, not reporting, the facade you used to distance yourself from the article, I am convinced that you are one of the greatest writers of pakistan, displying your objectivity honed by 30 years of stay outside pakistan.

Mushy who changed so mush of the pak laws, did not touch the hoodood ordinance, the blasphemy laws, and above all honour killing laws, whic for you is a clear indication of his secular credentials.

As I always insisted , what is learned in the early childhood cannot be erased, and will colour all the subsequent assertions. Try to recollect, Ras, k for .. from the kindergarten days

//...Iran has more friendlier relations with India then why suspect Pakistan for Nuclear proliferation? ..//

You tell us man? We all baffled! Why would Americans blame Pakistan, the ``frontline`` ally? And this is not some idle gossip - because, the ``Father of the Bomb`` ( or more correctly, the-guy-who-stole-the-bomb-and-passed-as-his-own) Abdul Khan - is being interrogated right now by Americans. This is serious stuff, man!!

So very clearly - Pakistan proliferated nukes - to Iran and also to N Korea - both staes in axis of evil. Great going pakis!!! Bush, the master, will be very happy!

You don`t steal Bomb. It is right there in books and even on Internet. Dr. Abdul Qadeer`s credit is that he made it in his Kitchen. Unlike India was given this Technology by the Father of All Evils - Israel. Do you know how many trips your abdul kalam made to Israel to learn along with his `scientists`? The axis of evil is `America - India & Israel`. I don`t count America`s poodle UK worth counting. Pakistan is America`s `best friend`. It is only `Zionist Press` fabricating `disinformation`. Even Americans are helpless. You must have read by now their `clearance and full trust on Pakistan`. Why Jews and Hindus are trying to create `misunderstanding` between long-lasting friendship of Bush & Mush?

Please tell me: were you born stupid, paranoid and racist or have you had some kind of surgical procedure (e.g., lobotomy or removal of other parts of the brain)?

Do let us know. Your paranoid fact-free rantings are really impressive...

You need to read more on Games the Zionosts play before learning more `adjectives`.

``...Pakistan is not a signatory of NPT, CTBT, and other IAEA treaties. So the rules that apply to Iran and North Korea (before it got out of the treaty) do not apply to Pakistan under international law. Pakistan can supply nuclear technology to any country in the world and it does as permitted by non-IAEA international law and bilateral agreements. As a matter of fact Pakistan has become the biggest exporter of nuclear components (non weapon) in Asia as reported in a report two years ago. This lights up fire under the tails of some people in US administration and zionists in the media but all they can do is to spin chasing their own tails. The sanctions imposed on Pakistan when it tested nuclear, were bilateral and not through security council. Since Pak`s nuclear program and technology do not fall under the jurisdiction of UN security council....``

Read my ``Pakistan at a Glimpse`` in another forum and what i think about you under section U.
You are a typical mullah of the ``Md Atta`` variety. You are western educated on paper but with a mullah mind.
When a nation does not join NPT, CTBT regime, it should have a strong reason. The only strong reason Pak has is ``because India has not signed these treaties``. Many times Mushy has said ``let India sign these treaties and Pak will do so the next day``.
When you follow India`s eg so closely as a nation, why did it not occur you to follow India scrupulously as a ``non-proliferator``? Your nation is a disgrace on this planet as it has passed on sensitive nuclear technology (which it itself smuggled courtesy Abdul ``Xerox`` Khan; which explains your assertions of a better technology; since when did Pakis get a better technology than India indegenously?) to rogue regimes like North Korea, Libya, Iran.
IF you want to be excluded from any censure or punishment from International players, your nation should have behaved responsibly. So, your legal arguments hold no water here.
Your country is silently going to be Iraqised. It will happen keeping in mind the H and D of its ruling elite. It is easy to arm twist Mushy. He showed Uncle Sam what a wimp he is post 9/11. Another gentle threat and all the nuclear reactors and programs will be soon under the survey of IAEA. Did you notice Pak has stopped threatening India with nuclear fallouts in the past several months? Now it is questioning its own scientists? What a charade!

`Ras the propagandist...But right now, the carefully constructed half-lies`

That`s quite unfair and shows more your sensitivity than the author`s bias. Ras sahib has been one of the most reflective, thoughtful, and fair-minded person on chowk. I find a substantial part of the article to be inconcistent with my take on the world; that does not negate the fact that it was written in good faith and by an individual who has had a long history of genuinely attempting to bring all kinds of people, specially us South Asians, together.

re: Mullah`s ravings
Dear mullah Urstruly,
You said in one of your posts:
``Legally same rules apply to India as well, but Pakistan`s reprocessing technology (based on centrifuge system) is far superior, efficient and cost effective than that of India`s and that definitely gives Pakistan an edge in international market.``
What kind of edge? Pak has supplied technology to only rogue states like North Korea, Libya. Nothing to be proud about.
About the technological superiority, all that rogue nations need is: some kind of a bomb to scare the other nations into submission. Pak supplied that willingly. In case of North Korea, it was a perfect barter: i will give you my nuclear secret, you give us the missile technology.
Url:
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/12/22/international/asia/22STAN.html?pagewanted=all&position=
Excerpts:

``European and American officials have a different view of Dr. Khan, from his work from 1972 to 1975 in the Netherlands at a centrifuge plant, Urenco.

At the plant, Dr. Khan gained access to centrifuge designs that were extremely sensitive, records from a later investigation show. Suddenly, around 1976, Dr. Khan quit and returned to Pakistan. Not long after, Western investigators say, Pakistan started an atom bomb program that eventually began to enrich uranium with centrifuges based on a stolen Dutch design.

Investigators in the Netherlands found a letter he wrote in the summer of 1976, after having returned to Pakistan, to Frits Veerman, a technician friend at the plant. ``I ask you in great confidence to help us,`` Dr. Khan wrote, according to an article by David Albright, a nuclear expert, in The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. ``This is absolutely urgent.``

Dr. Khan asked for help on how to etch special grooves on a Dutch centrifuge`s bottom bearing, a critical part. The grooves were to aid the flow of lubricants. He also asked if Mr. Veerman might like to vacation in Pakistan ``and earn some money at the same time?``

Suspicious, Mr. Veerman gave the letter to officials at Urenco. It was eventually used against Dr. Khan when he was put on trial in absentia in the Netherlands. In 1983, he was sentenced to four years in prison for stealing nuclear secrets. The conviction was later overturned, however, on a legal technicality.

By 1986, American intelligence had concluded that Pakistan was making weapons-grade uranium. And Dr. Khan was making no secret of his expertise: he published two articles that advertised his knowledge. He did so, he wrote, ``because most of the work is shrouded in the clouds of the so-called secrecy`` controlled by Western nuclear powers.

At around the same time, Iran made its secret deal and obtained basic centrifuge designs, the ones that now bear Pakistan`s technological signature.

But it was in the mid- to late 1990`s, as American sanctions tightened, that Pakistan made its biggest deal — with North Korea, American intelligence officials have said. Though Pakistan continues to deny any role, the laboratories are believed to have been the centerpiece of a barter arrangement of nuclear technology for missiles. South Korean intelligence agents discovered the transactions in 2002 and passed the information to the C.I.A. In the summer of that year, American spy satellites recorded a Pakistani C-130 loading North Korean missile parts in North Korea.``
So, the technology that you so proudly tout, is not indegenous but smuggled. When you come out of your small closet that says ``close minded`` and take a deep breath and look around, you will know that the nation that you are so proud of is in , to put it mildly, deep SH!T.

World has changed a lot after destruction of Afghanistan. New situations have emerged and now it has not remained as simple as you have described. Imperialists are stuck knee deep in shit all around the globe and they need help and can not afford to push people around any more. There is a strange phenomenon with this knee-deep shit i.e. as you wiggle to get out of it, it sinks you a bit more unless you ask for help from other people you just stay stuck there. The dogs that used to bite have settled down to barking only. I think it is time that you grow out of past as well.

The questioning of government scientists by the government they are emloyed with is as ridiculous as it sounds.

Line used to be ``we are a very responsible country. We don`t give away such technologies like that. No sir, Pakistan never exported any nuke stuff to anyone I can assure you 400%``.

Now it is ,what if we did. We did not sign CTBT so we can do whatever we want. well, good for you. Others will do what is good for them which means kiss good bye to your crown jewels.

#49 Ras the propagandist,

You can publish as many articles as you want. As long as they have nothing to do with killing indians, or wrapping the jihadist follies of your nation in gift-wrap, you will never hear from us.

But right now, the carefully constructed half-lies you put out can be used to sugar-coat and justify the murder of many innocent indians. As long as that is true you will hear from us.

I am sure you will be hearing from us very soon again.

Signal jammers are not new. They have been around for a while now.

“The common sense suggests that whatever happened there was a warning for Musharaf and not actually an attempt on his life.”

That is a very reasonable possibility … Here is another point of view.
