just one question: what is justification/logic of raising the morale of the soldiers by chanting jai kaali and jai durga in a supposedly secular India with 27 or 30 per cent ( I am not sure) non-hindu population. Wouldn`t it backfire, if the non-hindu population is propotionately represented in the army?

I watched this movie and liked it.
I like SRK. I like him because he has a common man look and does not have to look like one ``who stepped out of a bandbox`` to score with the audience. Some of his mannerisms have become stereotyped but he is still a good actor.
Kal ho na ho is a good movie. I thought Saif Ali Khan did a great job and acted with a lot of restraint.
Kantabehn scenes were hilarious. So were the puns on the Gujarati community.

re: LOC-kargil versus Pinjar
Saw both the movies recently.
Pinjar is a good movie. I think both Urmila Matondkar and Manoj Bajpai have given sterling performances. The movie shows the nobility of character of Rasheed (acted by Bajpai with consummate ease and restraint) who fights a number of demons inside and outside him. Urmila finds that religion is in the end just a matter of choice and what is more important is the character of a person. Her own real brother (a hindu) betrays her but a stranger (muslim and a Paki) stands by her. In the end she decides to stay on with Rasheed, rejecting her own family and country.
Now, about LOC-Kargil.
This film was about history and i think, now belongs to history. It is an eminently forgettable movie. Indian do not know how to make war movies and J.P. Dutta has showed us why and how.
LOC is all about jingoism and Paki-bashing. Cries of ``bharat mata ki jai``, ``Jai Kali``, ``Jai Durga`` ring the air as soldiers fight to recapture lost territorry. One wonders where was the need to resort to such jingoism. J.P Dutta started this movie 2 years ago when jingoism was popular but i am told that his movie is a flop in India today. What a wasted effort!

i love dream sequences too! especially when they involve countries i`ve never been to. just kidding. but so many of them are better done than khnh. anyway, that`s only my opinion.

Good effort Nanadini, I donot know if you watch tamil or talagu films...most of the innovative ideas we see in hindi films now a days have been borrowed or copied from those industries.

KHNH is one of the most overrated and overhyped films i have seen! The only saving grace was Shah Rukh`s acting and the film`s ending. The rest was very poor! Watch The Big B`s Baaghbaan instead.

Indian movies used to be fun when heroes had the names like Vicky and Suraj. In those days Vicky used to be either a student leader or a union leader but spent most of the time imbibed in cheap whisky. In those days he would save the most voluptuous and slutiest damsel of their basti from getting raped while she were bathing in the rain. After saving her from the clutches of ten to eight badmashes - all wearing red T-shirts and blue jeans - sweating profusly under their armpits - and their leader clad fully in leather with a fur collar and studded gloves - our hero would immediately make that bimbo his sister by tying a raakhi. Because all that happened while he was on his way back from the brothel where he had just met the prostitute with a heart of gold who vowed to save her virginity for Vicky. In those days there used to be heroes sidekick named Abdul, faithful as a dog, who would spare a kidney to save the life of the father of aforementioned bimbo.

But now...

And now heroes have names like Poppy Malhotra who make contact with aliens across the galaxie by singing the jaap ``Om mani Padme ham`` over their radio telescopes. Then Poppy Malhotra forms an inter-gallactic alliance with aliens and beats the shit out of Kashmiri insurgents and their ISI cohorts from across the border. The poor abdul on the other hand now also gets beat up by Poppy Malhotra while he gets caught plotting bombs in Bombay and stealing kidneys of the homeless to help his Kashmiri brethern. In between doing all this Poppy Malhotra is now shown busy scheming how to bed his scantly clad bimbo of a girlfriend along with her mother and sister. And if time permits, after singing ten songs with the bimbo he makes business deals of no less than dhai so carore rupay.

That sucks.

well whatever!...i would pay top dollar to see a dream and song and dance sequence, with all the bells and whistles and costumes...and trees...lots of trees...and occasional rains...with sexy mushy chasing veggie or a sexier veggie chasing mushy...
