I had mentioned Bar in one of previous post and JI types, in their ill-bred ways, tried to jump on in it.

Bar is an important cultural icon of the society that we live in. It is not only a place to relax and drink but also a place where Americans of all shades go for socializing. If you happen to stop by in a neighborhood bar on Friday evening you will find several of your neighbors there, The husbands and the wives, The girl friends and the Boy friends, the Grand mothers and the Grand fathers. They congregate there to do some bonding and socializing and to just have some good old fun. If you go to a Bar after your work at happy hour you will see a good number of people from your office bonding there and just having a good time. People go to sports bars to watch sporting events together. Bars are not just that, they are the meeting places for guys and gals. If stats were to be collected, you will find that more than 50% of couples in the US met in a bar. Bars are not just watering holes they are way more than that.

Asian societies generally don’t look to drinking kindly. The lower Middle class morality in the sub continent goes farther than that. It is a religious and a cultural taboo. It has nothing to do with Islam or Hindu religions alone, all Muslims or all Hindu of lower middle class origin react the same way to drinking.

It is a huge leap of faith for most of the people from the sub continent to hit the bar. Some would drink at home but would be shy to stop by in a bar. I am not advocating that people should drink. It is a personal choice. You don’t have to order booze when you go bar. You can order soft drinks (Just don’t be cheap, order some thing.)
Whether you drink or not, it does not hurt to go to a bar for happy hour with your colleagues or with your neighbors. At least that way you get to learn the culture and know the people. You speak English but you don’t speak the lingo. When you go to bars or the softball games, or to block parties or the just watch the football games in sports bar you start to learn more about the people because now you are socializing with people and you are not the stranger that happen to live in the neighborhood and funny food smell comes out of his/her house.
When people loose contact with the community or do not interact, that’s when loony thoughts take over their minds. They start dreaming of Islamic unity and Muslim umah and other rubbish like that. If you are Muslim and wanna keep your religious identity go right ahead. Go to mosque go to Eid Prayers but please don’t spill your craziness to other people.

Conspiracy?

I don`t know gentlemen, but this is something that you have to figure out yourself. The aerial views of the burning pentagon building are right in front of you (see # 118). These pictures were not shot by Saudis or little green men from Mars, these pictures were shot and releasd by US government itself. A pertinent question to ask here is where is the aeroplane or pieces of it in the burning wrekage. Why US government had to remove those parts from the crash sight while it was burning at 3000 degrees Fahrenhiet before shooting these pictures (I am being sarcastic here ok. This comment is for khotas who laugh at a joke the next day). And why the point of impact is considerably smaller than the size of the aeroplane? Are there different laws of physics in this part of the world?

Gentlemen! This is a forensic evidence that we are looking at and not a polemic argument. Please try to appreciate the difference.

I agree that bar is the solution to islamic problems, not really because what beer does to the brain, but as a bold statement that you are not squashed like a fly between the pages of an outdated book. I have met a few pakistanis, one place they refuse to go is a bar, they can have soft drinnks like many, but is afraid that of any one seeing them, for fear of being rotting in hell for eternity.

It is this complete domination of the book that prevents an allegedly educated person like tahmed from accepting that the jihadis are killed by the kafirs, the shaheeds die, and they should be included and talked about like any dead. NO, no pakistani has ever dared to say that pakistanuis have died in afghanistan, for the shaheeds have gone to heaven. The question is not whether islamists will take over the world, or take over the US, or even take over any single muslim country for any length of time. As the taliban showed, and as the NWFP mullahs showed, these people are clueless on what civilized society is all about - and end up charging at buddha statues and music cassettes as a substitute. I have seen situations where these mullahs couldnt run a mosque without getting into an ugly power struggle with one another. The only question is that these losers dont drag down the rest of us muslims with them. And the only way to make sure of that is to stand up to them and challenge their hollow assertions whenever and whereever they make them.

You sound Looney. A genuine Looney. As long as you keep calling “We Muslims” your head will not clear up. So “We Muslim” is one minority. “We Hindu” is another minority. “We Budhist” is another minority. So on and so forth. “We Christian” is the Majority. So there are religious kinds of minorities in this country. Hindus from India would rather be known as Indian. There are lots of South Americans here who are Christian. By your lunatic thought process, Hispanics are not a minority but a majority. Blacks are not a minority but a majority. As these both groups are overwhelmingly Christians. See how logic works. It will always work against you if you don’t clear up your head.
So now `we Muslims` have a clash with `you Christians` in the US. How long will you fight this crusade in your head? What would it take for people like you to see the light of the day?
