The man who played the flute was Ata Ullah Shinwari.
I first heard Atta Ullah in 1979 while travelling by van from Pindi to Lahore. The cassette known as No.4, perhaps was one of the best selling in Pakistan. A cassette company that recorded it in the most primitive manner alter came to be known as Rehmat Grahmaphone.
It was in cassete no.11 that Shinwari made his mark with his flute in, ``Humaein Chor Piya Pardes Gaye``.
Initially I had to endure becoming a laughing stock but later he gained popularity amongst the nouvelle too. If you happen to see the film, ``Hidden Peak, Le Montagne d`impossible``, you will hear the musical solos of his numbers as background music. I selected these for the producer of the film, who was also an expedition member with me on this mountaineering expedition. ( Read my article Hidden Peak on chowk.) I still listen to him but he is not the same. The purity of the sound is lost to modern editing and sound mixing.
I asked for the CD of Lee Ann (I hope you dance).
Thanx anyhow for taking me into a very eventful period of my life.

ijaz_gul #23: If you are talking about 50 Cent, then my mention of his names was more in jest than anything else. If you are talking about AK Niazi, then he is definitely someone who needs to be heard. And I am sure his CDs are available in Pakistan. He had a terrific bansari (flute) player in his orchestra. I wonder if that guy is still there. If you are talking about Erasure, well, I have their CD. And I only listen to O` Lamour. It is a terrific song. If you are talking about, ``I hope you dance,`` then that is also one of the all time greats.
Other good ones along the same line are:

Just to bring to your & everyones attention that because of poor formatting the nazm (faiz vaali) is somewhat ``skewered``. Please consult Naqsh-e Faryaadi.
Also # 5 from bottom: Ijz has typo. It is with Ain & not alif.
PS: The mood of the poet is in keeping with our poetry (ghazal) tradition of never ill-wishing the mehboob. Here he is simply conveying in a unique and beautiful way how he is feeling for her. The beautiful ``suffering`` called ishque is a blessing which only the chosen one receive. In this respect Faiz`s ghzal-numa-poem turns to a ``vasoakht`` (heart-burn) . Not always a desirable trait in an aashique.

I was only able to recall the first and last verse, so I used those to come up with a poem, based on the same concept, in English.
The first and last verses were something like this:
tu bhi kisi ka payar na payee, khudaa karay.......tu dar badar ki thokarain khayee, khuda karay
.................
hu jaeen budduaeen maree, dosto ghalat......abb un pay koee haraf na ayee, khuda karay

Romair, this is not to belittle your feelings, but hum auratein bhi mooh mein zabaan rakhte hai...by giving her the halo of an ``angelic hue``, are you not trying to make her betrayal sound worse? And your dignified exit imbues you with an angelic hue...wah...maar daala...
PS: Just wondering about the use of commas...
