Amit #77,

Why turn it into a kabaddi match ?

You mean Kabaddi is not a gentleman`s game? What kind of idiotic statement is that? Why should any game be treated different from any other?

Pakistanis and Indians have the same genes. So, there will be equal percentage of good looking and bad looking Indians. No point going down this road again. It`s childish.

Jang:

``I hope you folks dont mean calling me Hydrabadi as an insult, ``

That depends on your religion. If you r Muslim, no problem. If you are Hindu, your community is known as Gult in the states. That is an insult. Esp coming from Tam Brahms. :)

amit #82 Certainly prejudice is part of it. But I think it also indicates that the very concept of civilized discussion is missing among many people: They say the smell of poverty takes 2 generations to go away from a family (and that is why we have the nouveau riche and their cheap habits). I think the same can be said of nations, and that is why we have so many lousy posters on chowk. And unfortunately, per Gresham`s Law, bad currency tends to drive out good. So, perhaps it is my imagination, but chowk discussions are beginning to sound more and more like a bunch of empty vessels making noise.

You can go to Bombay Club on Connecticut for sali-boti. Its a Parsee dish (not H`badi). As a previous man of Kitchen, you got to try these Indian dishes as well...(next is Kolhapuri white mutton curry...)

I hope you folks dont mean calling me Hydrabadi as an insult, right?

Re:tahmed32 #78
Thanks, tahmed. It is really sad to see educated Indians and Pakistanis always putting each other down at every opportunity. Some of the old chaps like jay, urstruly etc are irreversibly prejudiced. So it is futile to argue with them. Let`s hope that the next generation of desis can rise above this.

``Gawd.. every true bakra eater from India or Pakistan knows (or should know) sali boti..unless you are a Pure arab or a bhaji eater. Anyways, here is the recipe. ``

I am a pure Punjabi Khatri meat eater. I like Aloo Gosht, Rogan Josh, Mutton Vindaloo, Simple mutton curry, champ, Boti, Seekh Kabab, Chapli Kabab etc.

I have never heard of Sali Boti. Is Khammy right about u being Hyderabadi Muslim???

He prolly is. There is a museum there called Salar Jang.

L_D:

``pakis`` is an impolite swear word. It really is. Pakistani is proper and good, so is the word Indian but `Paki` is bad slang straight from the ghetto. Am I wrong? ``

Yup. Pakis as a swear word is only in the UK. The sun has set on the empire. Paki in the US is just a short form for Pakistani.

Re:Lord_Dirtier and his followers,
Let`s have a competitive game, by all means. But I don`t understand this ridiculous obsession with the war metaphor. Cricket is a gentleman`s game. Why turn it into a kabaddi match ? By continously focusing on the war analogy, we simply show our immaturity and backwardness to the rest of the world. Pakistan has a better record than India in cricket for the past 20 years. So what ? Your vast millions still go hungry to bed and your youth want to leave the country at the slightest opportunity. The ones staying behind are committing suicide at an alarming rate. India`s situation is not that great either, but it is relatively better off than Pakistan. If you want mindless rivalry with India, let`s do it in matters of which country/system is providing a better life to its citizens. At least our poor junta will benefit from the rivalry. On the other hand, if we can display some modicum of civilization (we claim millenia old civilization on both sides), we should finally be able to look beyond our differences and think of cooperating and helping each other out.

At the end of the day, India is one of the few countries in the world where Pakistanis are treated with love and respect. You can compare that to the rest of the Islamic world or the west, where Pakistanis are treated with disrespect and looked down upon. It is your misfortune to continously shun us or put us down.

As far as people comparing physical characteristics of the two, that is simply laughable. We are debating over marginal differences in complexion or height, which are not even discernable by the naked eye. Most rational Pakistanis and Indians who visit each other`s countries, can barely feel that they are visiting another country.

``I have been to India in the late 90`s and let me tell you
man, the ugliness is everywhere. Thank God I am a Pakistani.``

Well, you won`t be thanking God for long once Uncle Sam is thr` with you guys. Perhaps you have not travelled abroad. You would know what it is to be a Paki then.
Anyway, the operative words in the above sentence of yours is `` late 90s``. A lot of things have been changing rapidly, so much so that some parts of Delhi where i used to live in the 80s is unrecognizable today.
Comparison with Pak is useless. Pak is a terrorist infested country with people who have few skills left after the nation had invested heavily in Jehad.
If Pak had same talents, why do they not compete with India in IT, BPO, nation-building.
AS one Indian said to a Paki in the 90s (and i read it in a newspaper), `` We are both in trash. The difference is: Indians are looking up towards the stars while Pakis are content to look down into the trash``.
Sridhar
P.S: BTW, who allowed a rat like you to visit India? Indians are too liberal you know.

Gawd.. every true bakra eater from India or Pakistan knows (or should know) sali boti..unless you are a Pure arab or a bhaji eater. Anyways, here is the recipe.

http://www.recipehound.com/Recipes/3458.html

Sridhar, you are a doctor. Is anything I that I have written wrong? It has been proven that al the vegeterian Satwik food (without onions and garlic) is awful for fast bowling. A fast bowler needs all his back muscles, and cannot afford to devote some for sphincter control. Mutton provides all the necessary protein AND hormones which provides the specific chemical triggers for that edge, the killer instinct. Especially good are the specific organ meats khatkhat made from gurda etc. So Sridhar, please tell me if what I write is wrong, and how so, instead of giving tangetial statistical argument.

I don`t know in which hole have you been hiding bud!
but one thing is for certain you can`t compete with
the good looking pakistani jawans.
If you don`t believe me just ask any of your Indian girls.
I have been to India in the late 90`s and let me tell you
man, the ugliness is everywhere. Thank God I am a Pakistani.
