The point is so that no one then calls you a haraami.

marriage is a chick thing. I have been persistently asking my fiance to move in with me, but she has to prepare for wedding and stuff. The corporations have also created the concept of diamonds as `show of eternal love`, so there goes my $ 10K. Its all about corporations manipulation of lazy workforce, which relies on `working workforce`
So why do gay men want to marry? Just a recognition thing. Once they r done with it, they would be `normal` again.

Hilarious! Though, doesn`t one get bored of living with the same person day in and day out?

Actually, Romeo and Juliet`s relationship was really not as transgressive as they thought it was. Firstly, the Friar saw their union as finally ending the ongoing and disruptive violence betweent the Montagues and the Capulets. Secondly, if you notice, in the scene where Paris is to meet Juliet, Juliet`s father forbids his men against harming Romeo and comments that Romeo seems like a nice enough boy.
What was more interesting was that Juliet`s father seemed to be much sweeter on Paris than Juliet was....but no one wants to write articles on that...

yeah you are right. Well over a decade ago once I went to see my relative in a village. The elders there were avid readers of newspaper and read news to each other and discussed them the whole day. One day a news was read with jaw dropping shock and awe - the news headline read ``Canada maiN harami bachchoN ki dauR``; I think the translator would have translated it from a news such as ``Children of single mothers Race`` or something like that - but for many years to come this news was so much repeated that it almost became a proverb. The phrase ``Knaydaa (Canada) vich haramiaN di race vich hissa liya`` was spoken for a person who was deceitful and cunning.
I wonder what happens now, after this media revolution; probably a news such that ``half of American male population have their arses on fire and they are rushing towards canada to get married with the other half of the male population`` wouldn`t even raise an eyebrow.

I work and know no so many successful, intelligent ``harami`` in USA that I did not see it as a galli. Society did not condemn, so the question is should we call it harami or love child ?

pardaisi:
No child is Haraami as such. It is a simplification of Haraam-ki-aulaad. It is the parents who indulged in the Haraamkaari. The poor child has to bear the stigma.
But being born as an American also can be very ``haraami`` because of the Haraamkarees which the American fore-fathers have been performing the world-over for the last 200 years. There IS a reason that they are hated & bombed everywhere by freedom-lovers.
It comes with the territory. Grin and bear it.;)

Arthur -
Fine, let gays get married. but why stop at that? let anyone marry anything! Let the love flow ! I hope you are for the following 2 cases of love too:
- Being a single person I am tired of paying thousands of dollars in taxes each year. I have recently learned that I love my pillow. Each night I come home from hard day`s work and put my head to it and it makes me forget all my worries. Whenever I watch TV, I put my pillow in my lap. We have been sharing the same bed for a number of years. I can`t imagine sleeping without it. I would love to get married to my pillow. This would help me claim tax deduction as a ``head of household`` and save me thousands of dollars. Could you please lobby your congressman to introduce a legistlation legalising a man`s undying love for his pillow?
- If two gay men can get married, why can`t a man be allowed to have 2 or more wives in America? Why stop that love from materializing?
Arthur, I hope you are a man of heart and would help support the above mentioned two causes. If you don`t, I would consider you a hypocrite, dumb ass western slave, who continues to parrot the few basest western ideas he has managed to learn during his stay in the west, and considers that an `enlightenment`.
But I am sure you are not that, and will help me obtain my tax break through my marriage to my dear pillow.

The point of marriage, Mr Shiraz, is companionship. It has nothing to do with ``baby-making urges`` or ``ownership``. BTW, it was not until the formation of agricultural settlements that the concept of personal property emerged. And you neglect that in the early civilizations, such as the Babylonians, Egyptians, Creten etc., wealthy women as well as men chose their spouses or ``love-slaves``. Its not just men who can be possessive!
Please refrain from portraying women as objects.
For those who mistake marriage as a sacrament: If two people vow to be together in good and bad times, its their business. Neither the state nor the man-made religion has any right to interfere. I have known a few gay couples who have done much better jobs of raising kids than many heterosexual couples. Also, if monogamy is practised in either gay or straight relationships, should it not be more stabilizing to the society as such?
For those who think its boring to be with one person: Well, if you find that boring, you always have the option of divorce. Often times people who hold several relationships are the ones who have failed to keep one meaningful one. Or because they are cowards and cannot deal with the stress of a permanent one. Or perhaps too idealistic who forget that they are not perfect either. In any case, I see that its singles (both men and women) who envy the ``bound ones``.
We are social animals and we need company to share our lives.

Lets restrict our interactions to exchanging body fluids. Lets elevate `vows` to more than human interactions.
btw, when was the last time u talked to a sheep? how can u exchange vows then?
While we r here, what was the last time u really asked a girl how she feels about u, rather than sending ur mother to talk to her mother? Lets first elevate women status in ur society, then talk about sheeps and dogs.

Why would anyone who is NOT married cry? Do you live in the US ? Sorry wrong question. A better question, do you live in the US like the other Americans do ? (these ``Americans`` do not include the FOBs who have not integrated into society e.g. people who live like Taliban John or John Mohammad the DC Sniper or like the ``moderate`` Muslims of Lackawanna NY).
``my beautiful pillow and I have consumated our love. ``#10 by malik99 on March 17, 2004 11:30am PT
Dost, have you heard of the phrase ``too much information``?
