Thank you very much indeed. With young people like you in Pakistan, there can never be no enemy of Islam, muslims, and Pakistan who can dare to double-speak.
And it is certainly true! Those who do not practice (in rituals, routine, and deed ) are precisely the ones who who want to to ``reform`` it.
In fact they are trembling of losing their positions of power & money to the deserving ones.
It is the ``elites``, the progeny of ganday-faujees, civil-sultaans, and land-barons, and the professional-managers [the ones from ``expensive`` but slave schools] who worry that their servants son might become their boss one day.
It is certainly a CLASS war where the pious ones are being punished for making the United Satans appear conspicuous. It is their schools, their cars, their homes and their lifestyle AND their alienish-friendships which MUST be attacked on all fronts.

i agree with flyhighkites. so many of us have decided to either convert to some other religion or become atheists or have become otherwise disillusioned with Islam simply because the people around them, the so-called muslims are hardly doing anything to make the rest of us proud. the dogma of Islam deals with every possible situation and makes a lot of sense at that! just because a few fundamentalists vow to do away with the `west` in a bout of suicide bombing, in the name of a severe misapprehension they call Islam doesn`t mean the entire religion is a fallacy

I am afraid this seems to be a school or college level essay written by a student who needs to learn more about the reality of the world.
There is a critical difference between Islam and Muslims. No worse thing has happened to Islam than Muslims themselves through whose acts and lives the religion Islam is badly lived out. I believe Islam is a great philosophy of life - it is a practical manual of life which makes a lot of sense. Yet we cannot overemphasise the fact that our previosu generations have badly misunderstood and distorted the religion.
The worst thing that has happened to Islam is the dochotomy between Muslims` beliefs and actions. Couple of weeks back, during a discussion with my father (not affiliated with any group) and his friend who belongs to Jamaat-e-Islami, I asked: who are Ehl-e-Sunnat, Ehl-e-Hadith, Ehl-e-Quran?? He explained that the first are who believe that Quran, written hadith (sayings of the Prophet), and Sunnah (his recorded actions) are all the sources of Law. Ehl-e-Sunnat believe in that. I nid-nodded. Ehl-e-Hadith, however, only limit to Quran and hadith, while there were these folks Ehl-e-Quran who did not believe in obliging to anything beyond Quran.
I said, Uncle, stop! Take a look around you on the road... We looked around on the dirty road with choatic traffic and rude drivers. I said: ``can you tell if any of them are Shia`s, Sunni`s, Ehl-e-this`n`that? As far as I can see, none of them are following the basic principles of decency, abiding by the law.... and certainly not acting as reps of Quran, or Quran + Hadith, or Quran + Hadith + Sunnah. As far as I know, many of the Shia`s and Sunni`s who fight about the right prayer postures never offer their prayers. And I have been regularly walking out of college discussions by my classfellow for or against pardah, kindness, etc. Neither of the debating sides practiced any of this. We are hypocrites!``
There was a moment of quiet, and then uncle ji exclaimed: ``Baat to sahee hai bhui! Wah!``
End of story.

We need to send all these guys back in time- give then a piece of land somewhere in antartica- and let them practice whatever they want to.
Man! I need to live as far away from these idiots as possible.

Geez, will jack`s ass get up and go already, stubborn thing...
For those who only read the ``Islam is a religion of peace`` bit, please do provide a pacifist alternative. What hypocrites, who lambest Muslims for the minority among them who commit violent acts, yet ignore the violent acts of the ``enlightened, 21st centry, modernists`` that is directly sanctioned by the majority (untill things go wrong, that is..).
Seems like the ass thinks himself to be a (high) hoarse.

Mr. Zahid, just a suggestion here. Instead of wasting precious time & energy attending these meaningless conventions and defending Islam will do squat. Just change yourself first - to be peaceful, etc and then work on your family, your neighborhood, your city, your country etc. Defending a violent 7th century philosophy, which is totally out of date in the 21st century, is simply moronic. Anyways its your life. Just remember that people see the fruit coming out of the tree of any religion and not mere words such as ``Islam means peace``, ``Christ said show the other cheek`` etc. If you have images of hooded men with Koran on one hand and an assault rifle on other hand yelling jihad , flashed on TV, nobody is going to buy -``Jihad in Islam is essesntially jihad against personal desires``. Anyway just Do your thing and be happy.

Zahid
They see behind the CLOAK of ``religion of peace``. This parroting is old, muslims need a new gimmick. ALL the muslim countries have dismal records in humanity. Their treatment of fellow muslims, let alone non muslims, is despicable. For ex- Shias, Hindus and Christians in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
I suggest you visit faithfreedom.org on the web and you will get an understanding of why non muslims and some awakened muslims rightly have started to look at Islam in a negative way. That site also refutes your claims about peaceful Islam.
