believe me its not sectarian...
just imagine....
how easy to buy a single bullet in this country... for a normal person...
not easy .. even one buys that from FATA, then how come these ppl get all these guns and ammunition.....
they have been provided with the things by some people who are very smart and have power in this country.... and ever think of who is the most poweful body iin this country ...
how wud u know...
its the army and their intelligence agencies....
iss mulk mein military ko koi qanoon nahin pakar sakta...police wala signal per bhi nahin rouk sakta.....ek makhlouq jo bala-e-qanoun hai.....yeh sub ussi ka kya dhara ahi......

wajahat, this is pretty much a cycle, going round and round and round. In fact this is what you are actually suggesting as well.

This is not a vicious cycle, but the brutal, mutated face of the hate that we as a society have engendered for ages. Shias and Sunnis still wrap themselves up in these shrouds of historic BS and society in general appeases these extremist murderers. We are not racists, but our racism is based upon religion or to be more apt, the various wings that Islam has transformed into. Lets be honest, each of us think that we are the righteous ones and therefore our actions are justified.
Hate is not justified, violence is not justified and killing men praying in a mosque or killing by shooting an extremist biigot on his way to preach more hate…is not justified either. But in this Manichean world Justifications are not necessary. Spilling blood is….
Farheen, you pointed out at the end of your article about the extreme face of ignorance, about insulation from the troubles of the world and about high walls of numbness that many of us so happily build around our collective conscience. But who will break these walls, peak through and try and come to terms with this other brutal, bloody side of the Pink dream across the bridge????

chowk policy,
This is getting a bit tiresome. Two articles on karachi killings. At this rate, if the policy is one article for each masscr e in pakistan, chowk will have only that.
We are looking forward to yet another dost mitter type series from yet another paki lover.

should we not be comparing murder rates of washington dc to those in karachi at this point?
(take it easy karachi folks, kick the bad apples out and good luck.)

This is not vicious cycle ... this is life`s wheel and there is nothing vicious about it. The moment someone dies .... there is someone who gets life. Life doesnt cease .... this is not that we have become hard and cant feel the pain .... buts its that time heals and time passes.
When people would read ur article they wont stop and keep reading it .... they would move forward ... this is what life is .... right now ur article in on the top of the website and after few days it would vanish from the main page just like the rest of the article vanish and would keep on vanishing.
The wheel would keep spining ... there would be rise and there would be fall .... time would come and time would go. Like as someone said (I forgot his name ... I suppose it was G.B. Shaw) .... life is like a stage, everyone of us come and plays his part. So keep playing your part .... till the director calls for a `cut` of ur scene.
Have a nice life!

Taking a well earned interval from family meetings and get-togethers, I will first say that this is a poignantly written article that represents fact.
The whole situation also reflects that at people to people level there is total solidarity and unity against the terrorist attacks. Listening to the folks from MMA and MQM one things come out loud and clear - there is an unknown force unleashed on Pakistanis by the powers that be who want to divide Muslims along Shia - Sunni lines. As soon as the terrorism occurs, BBC and CNN run the same story culminating in their twist, ``Karachi has seen frequent sectarian riots``. We all know that this is not true. There have been no mob violence or Sunni-Shia feuds at people to people level. Actually, the unity has increased.
