Versey is ridiculous! And why would the Chowk publish such nonsense--is this what passes for thought and rational comment today? What does Jemina Khan's personal life, Hugh Grant, Ms Brown (the woman who had sex with Grant, which I am sure both enjoyed) have to do with Ms Khan's very pertinent comments about the charlatan Bhutto.
There are other similarly obtuse editorials in Pakistani websites, bristling at Jemima's audacity which continues to betray our post-colonial sub-continental hang-ups--the notion that other (read white) people shouldn't criticize us, nor even our home-grown crooks. If she has anything to say about Jemima's comments, say it, o/w shut the *$%&#*$& up!

Oh dear, such bittereness over the poor westeren flower, who married the arrogant player.
I think you`ve seriously over analysed their marraige. Regardless, all marraiges breakn due to clash of personalities. We can all see clearly what might have been the reason of their break up, and that is Imrans typically masculine behaviour to only take and sit back while the woman keeps giving. She maybe a rich flower but she sufferes the same cause of break up that many `commen` women would in any remote part of the world. Yet you`ve turned the personal into the political, you`ve blown this marraige into an eposide of the clash of civilizations. Try not to fuel your bitterness to such unessasry proportions.

deadrajput,
Don`t mess with MBZI.
One of his visions is building a direct road connecting the Islamic lands from Pakistan to Morroco. In one of his posts, he even talked about how the problem of Israel can be circumvented by building a bridge over Red sea/some novelty like that...I`ve no clue as to what that means and why we need the road in the first place.
My humble plea to MBZI...
please include Malays and Bengalis by some magic in your Islamic unification plan. And if possible could you please elaborate on that Islamic road...I`m dying to hear about it. Don`t bother about this infidel Rajput, we kicked their butt then, we`ll kick them again!!

maninder kohli was arrested in India recently, he is wanted in Britain for the kidnap, rape and murder of a WHITE girl. Kohli married with 2 children police are perplexed why would a seemingly respectable man commit such a horrific crime.
British police are fools it’s the obsession with white skin.

Farzana`s article is nothing new in terms of its content. It`s bits and pieces from here and there based on the events that took place in the past few years. The main tragedy lies with Imran Khan(and not Jemima) who has to find another rich woman to sponsor him and his initiatives. Probably, his family women should start their search before the poor man is seduced and trapped by another white woman (pun intended).

Small minds discuss people
Average minds discuss events
Great minds discuss ideas
The greatest mind works in silence

People make events happen, people put ideas to work, people can work in silence only when they are meditating...people need to be heard.
And it was Jemima who put in an ad in the papers saying that all was well with the marriage; when the divorce happened, Imran got the press to report it.
- - -
The note to the chowk staff was in jest...for god`s sake, I have taken my share on the chin and elsewhere....
And, oh yeah, I have a greater sense of humour than many invisible folks here :))) Perhaps it arises from something called self-esteem. Heard about it? When you have it, just let me know....then men will not look at the next-door urinals and watch their aim.

Hellow to all for writing in. Hamidm...I love you! Now will you read my poetry?????

You are one of my favourite contemporary writers. I always enjoy your writing. It`s terse and meaningful. The `Orientalism` paradigm in the British press`s coverage of the issue is handled very well. However, I feel that you are doing injustice by equating the exploitation of women in our society and in the West by regarding them as `exploitation in differen areas`. Would be glad if you can explicate your position more clearly here.
But overall, it was fun (as always..:))

British tv channel 4 will be showing a documentary next month, about pakistani young men grooming white english girls in to sexual slavery. The programme was to have been aired this month, but police persuaded them not to, because it would have negative consequences for race relations.
The question is why people from sub-continent have this infatuation with white skin, may be it’s because ever since the Aryan invasion, the ruling classes have been fairer skinned.

Any person holding a decent job or a business cannot visit Pakistan three times in a year for weeks.
This person either lives off his wife or flips burgers at a local joint. No wonder his daughter said, what she said about Pakistanis. He clearly is a great role model.
This bozo nephew of a retired air marshal obvious has serious problems and is a huge show off. Saying silly things does not make anybody funny.
He is obviously playing to the peanut gallery.

politican, TV commentator
have been stupid. He should be a model (remember Cinthol?) or a Hindi soap actor (I am sure Balaji soap factory would be thrilled to promote cross-border harmony, maybe start a new show called ``Kkahaaaani Khan Keeee``)

hamidm #64: ``romair mian,
....... you don`t get it, do you? .......... the reason i make fun of pakistan so much is because i spend a lot of time there - this was my third trip ``home`` this year``
Actually I do get it. And I do get you also. I got you long before anyone else got you. I have always stated that you are a closet patriot, trying to play hard to get. I was just testing the waters with my comment, about your visiting Pakistan. I don`t plan to retire in Pakistan. So if you are planning to do so, you are a better patriot than me (or is it I; I can never get the grammar straight).
Aziz-Musharraf (as a civilian) till 2010, and things will be ok. Trust me........
Now over to the other issue:
``............ by the way, if you had stayed in the airforce and made wing commander you would have been worth a lot of money by now - a plot in defence pindi that was allotted for six lakh in 2002 is now worth 65 lakh !........... so while you toil to make your mortgage payment and pay your taxes, your buddies who, according to you, did not have a motorcycle to kickstart or a pot to pee in, are laughing all the way to the bank ..........``
Now this is something I do know about. My buddies, as you have rightly pointed out, are just about becoming Wing Commanders. I regularly exchange emails with them. None of them have a plot. Nor will they have one, till they become Generals. At which point, the two who do become Generals, will make a fortune (as you have correctly pointed out), and will be able to send thier kids abroad, so they can join the Chowk crowd. The remaining 95% are either running a local grocery store, as retired Majors. Or are trying hard to find a big-time safarish, so they can get into PIA (like our friend NazarHayatKhan), and become millionaires, and join the Chowk crowd themselves (instead of waiting for their kids to join it).
And whomever does not fall into that list, which is about 60% of them, are filling up my email inbox, trying to find out how they can migrate to North America and become a manager at a Wendy`s.
Believe me, there are no plots, for Wg. Cdrs.........

Also, if you have a 17 year old daughter, how are you a Pakistani boy?
But I like your humour. Luckily, since you are a Pakistani, ``they`` can not accuse you of being a Pakistani-basher. Lucky you.

I still say that the truth lies somewhere within the honeymoon photographs that were not published. They would have shown up the age difference for what it was worth the most.
As for the rest, well.
Was this a marriage in the true sense of the relationship, or was it something else again?
I guess we shall never know.
Jemina ji did what she had to do. Vaise, does it change anything?

fv,
..........even though pakis love a good scandal as much as any other people, the imran khan and jemima saga seems to be a big non-event with most people ............... the man in peshawar, with his nada in hand, walks around all day looking for the appropriate stone to fufill his religious duties and the rest of the people are too busy worrying about where the next meal - nay, piece of bread - will come from ................ the only people talking about poor jemima is the the friday times crowd led by my aunty, mrs retired air marshall, who recently set her hair on fire and spends most of her day at english slimming parlors and swedish massage parlors ........... in the evening she returns to her drawing room to berate the khansama for putting too much ghee in the salan and lambast jemima for betraying her man and the pakistani nation ...............
.......... imran khan has turned into another non-entitity like asghar khan and nawabzada nasrullah ........... he has his camp followers and groupies, but compared to people like sheikh rashid he is an irrelevant has-been ...............nobody seems to care what he says or does ........... jemima was his best act ..........
............. but as my seventeen year old daughter says, `` eeeoooow, why would anybody want to mary a pakistani boy - they are so yucky!`` ............ having been one all my life, i can empathise with her sentiments and pity poor jemima who thought she could take mianwali out of her man ................

You obviously know Pakistani society better than I do, but the slice of the good life many citizens enjoy is a bit of gup-shupabout other people`s good lives. This is a trait universal to all societies...which is why the tabloid culture thrives. If you are talking about the man in Peshawar with his shalwaar naada hanging down not being concerned about Jemima, then it is possible.though I`m not too sure.
I had an interesting conversation with a Lahori, who was impressed with Sonia Gandhi and said,``Dekho, she has sacrificed so much. She should be the PM, all her education is going waste.``
``What education?``I asked. ``And would Pakistanis accept Jemima in the same role?``
``No, this is different. Jemima has a long way to go because Imran Khan has not yet acquired such a high position.``

Just wanted to thank you for unfailingly letting in abusive posts against me find their way on my boards. I thank you simply because had those notes not been published we would never know what some characters are made of. There is no better way to expose a warped mind than to let it reveal its own warts in its own words. Thanks a ton!

I think if there is nothing left in a relationship then the wisest strategy is to part in an amicable way. Regardless of the geography, life is too short to be dragged. I think both of them should be appreciated for being responsible adults and taking a step than dragging a relationship. As far as the children are concerned, they are the by-product of a union. If the parents are unhappy with each other then that will have a negative impact.
Often times when marriages do not have a common outlook or goal then obviously the chances of survival are quite slim. Based on the little knowledge I have on this couple, I think Imran was always more interested in his own initiatives and goals. Since he got involved in the dumb charade a.k.a Pakistani Politics, he started considering himself a demi-god. Forget about a Brit, even a sane local woman would`ve had a tough time getting along with that mindset. Only an insane would put up with that line of thought. Lastly, being a great cricketer does not warranty success in every aspect of life.
On an ending note: I find it extremely absurd to have Jemima observe the same dress code Imran`s family women were observing. There has to be some appreciation for who and what your spouse is vs. making her adopt the style/mindset of your blood relations. I simply despise this kind of line of thought.
On a very personal note, I have seen many mixed marriages in my own family(mostly amongst my cousins) and so far all of them are successful even after 15 - 20 years. An important point that stood out in all of them was the fact that both sides were open to accepting each other for who and what they were and also were interested in evolving. A few of them who married without the 100% consent of their parents would say that they had to put in 110% to save their relationship. Something else that may have contributed to their success was that none of the couples lived in a joint family system and/or in Pakistan.

....... you don`t get it, do you? .......... the reason i make fun of pakistan so much is because i spend a lot of time there - this was my third trip ``home`` this year ............ and in a few years i plan to retire in islamabad to work on my golf game and wreck havoc on my liver ...........of course i wish i was white and civilized, but unfortunately it is difficult to get rid of this congenital condition ..............look, even jemima dumped our swarthy man from mianwali for lilly white hugh grant - so you can`t blame me or michael jackson for hating our cursed pigmentation ..........but inspite of my disdain and loathing for the brown folks, i am resigned to the fact that i am one of them and, for better or for worse, am destined to share their misery ..............i just want to make sure the damn place is liveable and not overrun by fools, faujis and mullahs determined to ruin my handicap and state of perpetual inebriation ........
............ by the way, if you had stayed in the airforce and made wing commander you would have been worth a lot of money by now - a plot in defence pindi that was allotted for six lakh in 2002 is now worth 65 lakh !........... so while you toil to make your mortgage payment and pay your taxes, your buddies who, according to you, did not have a motorcycle to kickstart or a pot to pee in, are laughing all the way to the bank ..........

i was wondering when the stephen hawking article was going to rear its head. it was inevitable, yes? :)
solitude. .
how is the cultivation of members of your group into ``sophisticated, modern, responsible citizens`` going? i daresay it will take you just a little longer. your responses to ms. versey (NOT ms. whatever) have been anything but sophisticated. is this what joining hands with the west has taught you??? funny. . .
daaahhhhling, you appear to be so filled with hate and emptiness that of course you would think anyone who doesn`t think like you would be the same. not very sophisticated. not very open.
and sex is great. . .it really is. but it needn`t be the ONLY means to measure a man or a woman. why do you ignore the fact that jemima is intelligent over the fact that she is hot? and how does a critique of your beloved anglo press translate into ``trashing`` jemima. furthermore, why should farzana crave the attention of any pakistani by discussing this. farzana doesn`t need pakistanis, least of all i should hope, pakistani men. .puhleeze!
do tell us, as one of the popular phrases here is fast becoming the trademark `inquiring minds want to know. . .`
as for harping on brown-skin complex, your complexes are innumerable, and evident in your writing. . .work on your own why don`t ya, before pointing them out in the rest of us!

Looks like this stuff gets more interesting to the Indian press
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/785371.cms
LONDON: Hugh Grant, who is reportedly seeing Jemima Khan, has shed the shroud of secrecy. He was photographed coming out of Jemima`s home, after spending the night with her.
According to a report in Hello magazine, Grant was spotted collecting the morning papers from outside her Fulham home last weekend, thereby lending credence to the alleged affair.
Grant has been very cautious about avoiding the paparazzi, but this time the camera caught him leaving Jemima`s home.
He was seen emerging from the mews cottage early on Saturday morning. After collecting the papers, he got into his black Mercedes and drove himself home.
Meanwhile Grant`s ex-love, Liz Hurley who dated Hugh between 1987 and 2001, has reportedly, given her blessings to Hugh`s relationship with Jemima.
``Jemima is lovely and I`ve told Hugh I`m desperate to see him happy and settle down with the perfect woman,`` she was quoted by the report as saying.

‘Not the whole truth`
LAHORE: Commenting on Imran Khan`s statement that ``his political life had made it difficult for Jemima to adapt to life in Pakistan,`` Jugnu Mohsin, the publisher of The Friday Times, said this was just part of the entire story. .....
..... When asked about how Imran had married a British woman instead of a Pakistani woman despite being an orthodox Muslim, Ms Mohsin said, ``He insisted that Jemima convert to Islam though there were many misgivings about the genuineness of that conversion also.`` Ms Mohsin said, ``I think she really shouldn`t have converted if she wasn`t sure that this was the way she wanted to go and what she wanted to be.`` She said it was unfair of Imran to expect this of Jemima.

..... Like her friend Diana Princess of Wales, past girlfriends of her husband always seemed to hover over the marriage.
In May 2004, one of those old girlfriends, the millionairess Sita White, died suddenly of a heart attack. Her daughter Tyrian was proven to be Imran Khan`s child in 1997.
Imran denied he had fathered the little girl until a legal suit proved otherwise. He did not meet Tyrian until she was six years old.

remember the article when stephen hawkins got beaten-up by his companion? how come imran does not get accused of being a nasty who abused Aunt Jemima? Both Hawkins and Imran accomplished men, so why such discrimination? TFT i understand, but chowk would have printed such a fly in the soup, no? So please shrpen your pencil and do some unfounded juicy accusations. At least allow the tabloids to make some. It is very important jouranalism, as inquring minds need to know.

[I have been told that women in your part of the world at least have a choice. Do you realise that these choices are dictated by male yardsticks? ]
As long as human beings do not breed asexually and maternity is always certain and paternity is never, inequity between men and women is bound to remain. I think so synthesis that west has done of this men-women equation is shown to be working very well.
Management scientists have shown that when more than one person participates, decisions are always better. Eastern mothers of old era took recourse to Jadu-Tona when they faced crisis. Eastern women of new era think with their heads. If new era`s choice were not there you would not even be writing this. Why be cynical about it so much?

of course letters have not been dashed off to the british press group telling them that this is a `pakistani affair`. that would be contrary to someone`s kissing anglo-american arse? the world be damned if an indian or pakistani should talk about anything or anyone connected with `the west` as exploitative. exploitation only happens in islamic/pakistani society na? and when the secular pakistan movement fulfils its goals `to secularize, humanize, and anglo-americanize` pakistan tau humra exploitativeness bhi khalaas ho jayega!!! :D
what more could be annoying to someone who has said somewhere that, `no one blames jemima for dumping his (imran`s) religious, feudalistic arse`, other than the british press`s arse being exposed? :)

I was quite impressed by the article Jemima wrote shortly after marriage. She seemed knowledgeable about Islam, made the right notes, came across as a woman who knew exactly what she was in and not a bit disillusioned.
Cut to the present and what seems to be the case to me, is that while Jemima is in full bloom, Imran has come to occupy himself with other issues, political to be precise. Interests change with time and age; he is no longer the Imran she married. Not that it is anybody`s fault. If only he had not let political aspirations take over and consequently been compelled to uphold a certain image in the public, they would have lived happily ever after.
The media would have embraced him had he continued with his playboy image/flamboyant life style replete with visits to bars and pubs and little escapades and rendevous...
He didn`t.
The media would also have been less prying of Jemima had she not converted to Islam of all the religions.
She did.(Horror of horrors!)
And lets admit: it is easy to fall prey to the easier things in life.
Jemima is a victim of this very syndrome.
As one interactor pointed out, its the children one should be worried about. Not that Imran and Jemima have been least affected.

Ms. Whatever,
The British papers can talk about Jemima because she is rich and she is hot and she is BRITISH.
You are none of the above and on top of that your only function is come to a Pakistani board and to suck up to the Islamic fundamentalists in Pakistan on basis of communalism and religion.
If you hate the British and ``White`` people so much, why bother with writing trash in English? You may as well write it in Arabic or whatever your language is (Gujurati was it?)
Really, if you feel some Pakistani is going to pay attention to you then trashing Jemima and the British is not the way to go (it will work with the Islamic fundamentalist). Try a little less potty talk. Ladies don`t talk about EVERYTHING (its a little too much information, you know) and there is no gratuitous point to it.
If you have a brown skin complex going try a little going in front of the mirror and saying to yourself ``I am pretty and I am worthy of being loved by a Pakistani``. I am certain that will work wonders after a few decades.
Stop attacking some woman who you are not in the same league with by a million miles.
You are attacking Pakistani women by attacking Jemima. We adopted her as our own and we are with her in her decision to dump that feudal lord of a born again fundamentalist Imran Khan. Where do you come in? You come in as an excellent choice of propagandist for Mullah Omar. That is why when you don`t know shite about a country don`t try to cozy up to it on basis of ``Muslaman Musalman Bhai Bhai``. Osama tried it and look where it got him.

....... i just got back from pakistan and don`t remember anyone talking about jemima and that old fool, imran khan ........ everyone is too busy plotting to buy and sell plots in the defence societies and lining up at pizza hut at midnight for a slice of the good life ...........
......... but what was he thinking - the senile old fool - marrying a woman half his age?.......... maybe, if he had a serious shot at becoming prime minister she might have hung in there for the pomp and glamour .......... afterall, queen noor did stick around with an ugly midget and sonia put up with a witch and her buffoon of a son ............. why would a good looking gal like her, with millions of pounds in the bank, stick around lahore after she has been to food street a couple of times?............ love?.......... get real!

I asked her the reason for such indignation, and she replied ``ainee dair naal jay aye o``
To that I said ``naeeN koi dair naeeN hoi, Qazi sahib ajay aithay hi ne, bulawaN unhaN nu?``.
After that sialkot was good.

Thanks for the comments.
1. This is indeed the version that was published in TFT; since I was not at my computer when I submitted it I in fact copy-pasted it from the site itself.
2. This is not pro or anti Jemima. There are several issues being talked about...if you can find them, great. If not, then it is still a decent read :)
3. Yes, divorces happen. No big deal. Which is why the press should not have bothered...which is why I wrote an open letter and not a pontificating opinion piece.
4. People need not remind me of my nationality. Especially those who claim not to care about such minor issues, who call themselves global citizens and atheists and whatnot...these are the ones most obsessed with such matters. I do hope they have dashed off letters to the Guardian, Speccie, Independent, International Herald tribune, The Sun, Daily Telegraph and who knows how many others remjnding the writers about their nationality. After all, this is a Pakistani issue. And Jemima did everything to fit in. (Just acnnot understand why an Indian cannot comment on whatever s/he wants. And then they say I am looking for Pak approval....what a hoot.)
These people who live in cuckoo land need to truly cast their eyes down and take a good hard look at themselves and their pitiable little...err....excuses, for want of a more polite word.
PS: To the one who made a certain comment, there is no need to go soft on me for the reasons you mentioned. My words are my calling card...all else is part of a package :)

Nadia_Zehra,
Your English is very bad in more than half of what you have written. But still I could understand some of it with some effort. In the above quoted text (enclosed within brackets: []), from what you wrote I have deleted words which I could understand. Would you mind rewriting this text again? May be you can show it to some English language expert before posting it.
I am translating your text below as I understood with some comment on parts that I did not understand.
You wrote: ``I had in my sixth sense since their marriage thats its not going to work for so many reasons... ``
My translation: ``I knew all along by my sixth sense that their marriage is not going to work for so many reasons... ``
You wrote: ``Whenever a persons says I have adopted Islam after studying or seeing her beloved god knows the truth, I always doubt a bit in 21st century... ``
My translation:
You mean either of following two:
One.
``Whenever a person (not persons which is plural) says she has (I am replacing `she has` for `I have`) adopted Islam after studying or seeing her beloved, then I doubt it. Only god knows the truth, I always doubt a bit in 21st century... ``
Two.
``Whenever a person says she has adopted Islam after studying or seeing her beloved god (means, Imran), knows the truth (this ``knows the truth has ``subject`` Jemima), I always doubt a bit in 21st century anyone who says such thing... ``
(Note: Subject means the thing which does an action specified in verb. As an example: Nadia ate lunch. Nadia is subject and ``ate`` is verb which specifies action, and last word is object.)
You wrote: ``Did Imran Khan failed to Islamicize his wife. Would she turn away from Islam for her next marriage? Would be interesting to know... ``
My translation: ``Did Imran Khan fail to Islamicize his wife? (replaced fullstop ``.``) Would she turn away from Islam for her next marriage? Would be interesting to know... ``
You wrote: ``Farzana you are arguing little Jemima for so much or you are showering her with all dimensions which she couldn`t have known to...or was not able to coup with or someone else showed cowardness or was it a deal??? ``
My translation: ``Farzana either you are arguing so much hard with Jemima for her so little fault or you are showering praise on her for having all dimensions in her character (added to make clear, may be you mean something else?) which she couldn`t have ... Either she was not able to cope (I replaced `coup` the wrong word with `cope`) with or someone else showed cowardice (replaces ``cowardness``) or was it a deal??? (I completly miss you here. Do you mean `amicable separation` when you use word `deal`?)
You wrote: ``Well She have farewelled for what she couldnt do...now we cant debate any conclusion... ``
My translation: ``Well she said farewell (to Pakistan) because she couldnt make her marriage work...now it is useless to debate what she thought about this or that... (it is all over and it is too late now)``
You wrote: ``She is not a scale for East West culture contradictions... ``
My translation: ``Her divorce is not a typical ``model divorce`` of an east-west couple from which we can learn anything about East West culture contradictions... `` (You probably wanted to use hindi/urdu word: tarajoo which means scale. Or probably you meant yardstick? A smaller stick is used by school students to draw straight lines. Did you mean that?)
You wrote: ``Lets assume it their personal level...She could be a lot better now..Lets hope for her better future... ``
My translation: ``Let us see from her personal perspective/level...She will be a lot better now..Lets hope for her better future... ``

If you had a little respect for your mother and sister, you would not use such vulgar language against a woman. More than anything else, it shows your own frustration.
Take it easy, dude.
Farzana
I read your articles many times. I think you have a very beautiful, intelligent mind, and your observations are very minute. I wish i had such good composition.
General Note:
Imran khan is a very honest, and sincere person. His cancer hospital in lahore offer free treatment for poor people. He finished a task that actually help other people, which is great. I think such efforts are far better than writing high thoughts or criticizing others, which does not improve any human conditions. I think we need to talk less, and do more.
Imran`s divorece is his personnal matter, and we need to note that i did not harm anyone.
Long live Imran Khan.

Urstruly - you wrote ``Well, she brought me the glass of water and said ``lay pee mar``. ``
hmmm...well, my expert opinion is that she may have had higher standards and may have been disappointed that it was you, and not some other gabroo javaan with big moustache, who asked her for water. If I were you, I would have asked for another glass, just to make sure.
But then, my expert opinion also says that many times girls in Sialkot use these kinds of words in an endearing way (or at least that is what I would like to think). Having grownup in a house where my mother routinely referred to me with this phrases, i can attest to that. Just for future reference, other endearing phrases are ``golee khaan joga``, ``mur jaan joga``, ``phuRkee joga`` to name a few.
Regarding Pindi`s poondi quality, you have indeed touched upon a point few poonds know.

what is wrong with you farzana? why are you angry with her?she tried her best. the existence she had in pakistan didn`t match her london life anyway-as she grew older, she must have realised, not for me. she`ll always be in the news, her money and connections ensure that, she didn`t need to marry imran for that.
women in the west do have more choices, i`m afraid, farzana. no getting around that.

i still think hamid mian is much better at satire than solitude is. if #18 was even meant to be satirical. *rolls eyes*
some of the men`s responses are typical. . .
and of course it is a personal matter. . .except that this marriage was between a very public pakistani figure, and an equally controversial british woman. i suppose that solitude will be cheering loudly that a gori will now unhijab herself and wear tight-fitting clothes. but this article is hardly about any of that. divorces happen. . and some of us know that only too painfully well. some of us have seen what it is like for independent women to lose their identities for the one they `love` and then lose the one they `love`. khair, who thinks about that, when afterall, one `divorces happen` and two, `jemima never deserved imran in the first place.`?
when all that is said and done, and the british press has had their heyday and some chowkies have made all sorts of implications from her being a brat to her being a whore, the fact still remains that we don`t know for a certainty what the hell jemima has experienced. blonde power jaye bhaR maiN!

Its the Indians` Fault
You guys have spoilt the living daylights out of women like Farzana and she does not tire of stabbing her own country in the back.
Such disgusting and treacherous behaviour is a crime in Pakistan and we hang people for that (like the ba_tards who are trying to assasinate our President).
Now she is not satisfied with bi_ching about India she must come onto a Pakistani board, wax lyrical about Pakistanis (and we know why she is doing it because our men are hot and she can`t get la_id in India even if she blindfolded the gigolos).
However Ms. Versey`s ``brown-skin`` complex is just a little too psycho for Pakistani tastes. I mean we hear of all kinds of disturbed people from India whining about the British and White people and frankly we don`t give a damn. However some loser in India who converts to Islam from some pathetic street sweeping cult of a sect feels that they can behave dishonorably. Its all the fault of the Spinach eating pansies across the border.
We already have way too many Indian Muslims who want to secede from Pakistan and form their own country. These people seem to never have found out about what it means to be a good citizen. Parcel her over and we will wed her to Altaf Hussain`s boot.

I think it`s a personal matter. Their marriage just didn`t work out. It seems both tried their best but couldn`t get anywhere. I just hope the kids don`t turn out confused about their identity or start hating their father...
I think the children are much more affected in polygamous or divorce situations.
Regards.

Farazana you are an INDIAN!
Do not comment on Pakistani affairs.
Infact since you like kissing Pakistani Arse so much why don`t you just move out of India and come to good ole Pakistan. Our men will be very glad to tame you into a good Muslim woman.
But no. You would rather hang around the slums of India because it makes you feel better and then come to a Pakistani board and talk poorly of the country you should be patriotic towards. Relieve yourself of this misery. Just move over the border and we will teach you how to be patriotic.

Did Imran Khan attempt the ``talaq-talaq-talaq`` approach to the divorce or did he go to a Domestic Relations court? Does the latter count in Islam? Would he have to follow it with the triple-talaq?
Inquiring minds want to know.

yaar I hate sialkot, since the time I got stuck at the infamous railway phatak for three hours while in a baraat. The hungry hosts who were waiting for the baraat for the past half a day were not very hospitable any more. I asked a damsel, whom I thought was giving me eye, for a glass of water. Well, she brought me the glass of water and said ``lay pee mar``.
I used to like the painted girls of Islamabad until one day I went for site seeing aka poondi with my friend Lala from Chak 99 gaaf bay of Faisalabad. I noticed that Lala has been quite silent for a while. I asked him about his opinion about the local girls to which he responded in a quite dejecting tone ``Eh! BeemariaN``. I was quite shocked at his reply and asked him for reason for such disdain. He pointed me towards a girl who was coming out of a shop wearing a choori daar payjama and said ``enj lagda eh jewaiN lafafay vich taraaN paiyaaN hondia ne``.
The real beauty is just few miles away from Isl in Rawalpindi. As a matter of fact the whole potohar pleateau is just breath-takingly beautiful - I mean girl wise.

It is no big deal that a divorce has happened; the only reason why this news finds place is because of the celebrity status of both Imran and Jemima.
Well, I do not see any reason for us questioning Mr. Khan`s personal live. And why does a piece such as Mr. Khan visiting palmists has to come under the news. It is none whatsoever.
We need to thank Imran the cricketer and see what Imran the politician can do rather than complaining all the time.

Urstruly - You wrote ``I would advise men with feeble heart (like me), never to bring a Siraiki girl to say to you ``taiN baRa lobhi haiN`` ``
ouch!! just the mere reading of this phrase hurt right in my heart. Ursutruly, please! next time you write such a heartbreaking phrase, please put a warning note : ``Not for feeble hearted``
Ok, so given that our Imran is pretty feeble hearted - I suggest that if he wants simple beauty, he should go to Mianwali. If he wants beauty with finesse, he should visit Sialkot. And if at his age he is still into ``pure passion play``, then Lahore is the best. And if he can`t get over his taste for european delicacies, then Islamabad has a lot of white girls in not-so-white skin.

I am just glad that the abomination of miscegenation has ended.
Seriously? what makes a nice aryan woman to marry monkeys and gorillas is beyond me. I guess it`s the perversion factor. Just like there are preversions like incest, homosexualism, lesbianism, etc.... there is bestiality.

``Khan Sahib should have married a traditional Muslim girl from Mianwali. Has someone seen Mianwali girls?`` heh heh.. many tried but they are behind purday..at least those who have any sharam and haya.
seriously, jemima - imran divorce is a non-event in the US and in UK its a very mild amusement value. clearly for TFT readers it may be important. for farzana..well its a living.

I would advise men with feeble heart (like me), never to bring a Siraiki girl to say to you ``taiN baRa lobhi haiN`` - she can make you do anything with these four words.

I had in my sixth sense since their marriage thats its not going to work for so many reasons... Whenever a persons says I have adopted Islam after studying or seeing her beloved god knows the truth, I always doubt a bit in 21st century...
Did Imran Khan failed to Islamicize his wife. Would she turn away from Islam for her next marriage? Would be interesting to know...
Farzana you are arguing little Jemima for so much or you are showering her with all dimensions which she couldn`t have known to...or was not able to coup with or someone else showed cowardness or was it a deal???
Well She have farewelled for what she couldnt do...now we cant debate any conclusion...
She is not a scale for East West culture contradictions...
Lets assume it their personal level...She could be a lot better now..Lets hope for her better
future...
Regards

Imran Khan is very confused. He cannot decide what he is. His detours would be quite entertaining if he didn`t want to become a Prime Minister of Pakistan to set that country ``straight.`` In the bigger scheme of things, he`s just a sad person who knows not what he`s, what he wants to be, and what he`s doing.

A good couple should have complementing personalities - as in ``completing each other``. Jemima, a rich and bratty kid, did not have that.
Urstruly : Of all the Chowkies, you are most well positioned to write ``An Open Letter to Imran Khan``. Remind him of the Mianwali girls. Or better yet, the Sialkoti girls. Maybe put him in touch with some `rishta karaanay valee aunti`` in Lahore. I am sure even for his senior age, that aunti can work magic and get him a nice match from Bhakkar (siraekee girls are pretty good too)
To Imran: Welcome home brother!

Khan Sahib should have married a traditional Muslim girl from Mianwali. Has someone seen Mianwali girls? It is because of this kufran-e-nai`mat thatr khan sahib had to go through all this miserable situation in life. Gori chamri aur Fish-eyes meiN wafa nahiN.
