I Have Heard That People Look At Her In Amazement

``Who shall be so lucky as to see her unclothed?
Sometimes the walls and gates of her house only we see ! ``

This line really stood out for moment and left me contemplating how beautifull the Creator of Beauty must be. We really are unfortunate for not being able to see that unimaginable Beauty. Sigh, Oh! tell me O`Fortunate one how She looks, free from all viels? If nothing then please tell me what you saw oh Fortunate one.

As for the second part, I only responded to the last line of your post, partially quoted below.

This is sung by Mehdi Hassan for a film , I dont remember the name but it was based on Partition...

THe script was very strong and it was a good attempt to give glimpse

Indeed there is a sung version of this ghazal. However, i don`t really know who sung it. I`ll try to find out. The ghazal is played a lot on Pakistani Fm radio channels. :)

#21,echoboom: I bet there is an error in the urdu version of the poem. It should not be ``chashm-e-naazuk. After ``e`` there should be a noun not an adjective. Hence ``chashm-e-naazukii`` not ``chashm-e-naazuk.`` As for the missing nuance: The poet says that he has heard that his ``maashuuk`` has the reputation of commiserating, so he will try for consolation by walking the the ``maashuuk`s`` lane.

#12,Jang: The words are words. Whether in Purabiya or Persian. The mental images of a lover are interpretted by the poet who tries to transfer this to a reader. That is why these efforts have to be not abstruse. Above all, do not forget that each poet is also trying to further his/her career!
