Maniza Naqvi: Writing for a Cause

From where can anybody buy these novels by Maniza Naqvi???

It is hard for me to swallow that anyone working for World Bank can write about Pakistan with empathy and indulgence but I will give Naqvi a chance - partly because Ali has made her case quite well.

i just love the last paragraph of this article. I completely agree with everything in this paragraph, not that the rest doesnt make sense, its just that in the last paragraph the things said, I have been thinking along the same lines for a while, and its nice to see someone putting them to words.
We all are different from eachother, yet the problems faced by people are similar everywhere. Be it Pakistan, Argentina, America, or India, we all go out in the morning for work to make money to feed our families and provide shelter for our loved ones. That never changes. I go to university in Canada, and I had the pleasure of making friends with some Indian students, and living with them for a long period of time made me realize how alike we all are, and how all are problems are similar. Made me realize that no matter what situation or condition you find yourself in, hearache and happiness will acompany us, along with all the emotions that are felt by everyone else. The emotions that make us what we are, humans.

The last paragraph made me think as if the statement is coming from an alien of this planet earth. How stupid that alien`s culture can be if one has to go to a foreign university to understand that all humans beings have the same emotions!!

#1. Maniza`s first two novels were published by the Oxford University Press, Pakistan (www.oup.com.pk) and the third by SEPS (www.samabooks.com). The three books are easily available at most book stores in Pakistan, otherwise you can visit the websites of the publishers.

#3. Does professing love for Pakistan really require preconditions? And who gets to define an average Pakistani or an elitist one? The definitions all seem very relative..........
