forget islam why dont you begin with reforming pakistan, lower your trade barriers towards india, and gain both the static and dynamic advantages of free trade. beginning with cheaper helmets, put the rent seekers on pan and guthka out of business. this will raise your and our income bringing us closer to the 4000$ cut off set up by fareed Zakaria for sustainable democracy with rule of law.

Here is my response: Yes.

PS: If you have read what i have been said a number of times on chowk, I am against the use of loudspeakers not just in one mosque but in all mosques - for the simple reason that in my view religion (any religion) is a personal matter between man and God and it does not belong in the streets. If I had my way, there would be no loudspeakers in mosques. Knowing your mindset, you will find this answer hard to accept, but that is your problem not mine.

and btw, I dont care whether or not the followers of modi are inflamed by something or not - we pakistanis have the means to inflame your hero modi`s or advani`s or any other filthy hindutva`s lungi if he ever tries anything with us (as advani has learnt after wetting his lungi a couple of times after trying to act tough with pakistan). Furthermore, protecting religious minorities within india from hindutva thugs is india`s problem, not something pakistan can or needs to do anything about. personally if i dont see another article on india`s communal problems on chowk i would not be the least bit concerned. we have better things to do in pakistan than to start worrying about india`s problems.

When i call Harimau a little man, that too was for a reason: despite the fact that he is an educated man, he is incapable of rising above the mob mentality when he defends the murder of innocent people in gujerat as being revenge for the murder of other innocent people in godhra. That is clearly the mark of a small-minded man. It also indicates a lack of respect for human life - in other words, the mindset of a murderer.

Sir, I can accept that questions raised by me may require an essay but you will appreciate that choice of the words, which are not only questionable but are very difficult to substantiate, is yours (do not mean you personally). You chose those words. So it is for you to define explain to others those terms, when they are found to be questionable.

Muslim elite was lulled that is something which you would have very, very hard time to show leave alone proving it. And I have plenty of evidence in the form of speeches in the Parliament itself, some letters of Pt Nehru himself and I can find more on those lines which will show that there was no way in the world the muslim elite or anyone else could have had been lulled (a very questionable term) into.

Was muslim elite in anyway threat to hindus or hindu elite? What muslim elite could have done if they were not ``lulled into`` as per you? Where was the need for hindus to lull muslim elite? Or for that matter, for muslim elite itself? I am questioning the term `lulled into` used by you.

Likewise, I am still waiting to see how you justify the term `fascinated` used for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in relation to his workings with Hitler. Who or which normal person would like to be known as fascinated with a psychopath/devil/evil and so on? You either change the word or explain to us how is that applicable.

If you apply the same logic, India should have had a secular government by something like 500 AD. The fact that just 90 years after the British rule was established all over India India became a democratic secular country should be proof that 90 years is enough to ``civilize`` people. By that token, Pakistan should also be a secular democratic republic today. You can blame the Army, the mullahs, the bureaucracy or Islam for Pakistan`s current predicament.

I think I will blame Islam.
