i would just like to say ppl who listen to punjabi mc n think they r king of bhangra that they must be as stoned ,as punjabi mc be`s when performing. half naked women TRYING to do bhangra on there tracks, not only sounds pathetic also looks it!! Believe me i live in london and have seen these kinds of dumb gigs. yeah ok..they maybe good dance partys..but please dont go as far as calling them the International Bhangra style!!..cuz i think that is still a heritage to india and pakistans punjabis. who dont need techno to make people go wild doing bhangra..
If u think the sikhs of england are the International Bhangra Groups..then i think you dont know the first thing abt bhangra!..and all you associate it with is stupid gigs which give you headaches!!

Thank you atif2. I can understand your predicament.

brucelee man, don`t even get started about UK bhangra groups. I know Bally Sagoo and the Punjabi MC. They use techno to pump up the beat. Thats no bhangra. Thats a crime.
And the other thing is of the lyrics. Pakistani bhangra groups outclass UK and India in not just the music and dance, but lyrics as well. Can you match the beauty of these lyrics:
Her face glows like a flower
When she meets a guy her age
Her face glows like a flower
When she dances with the girls
You can hear the sound of their anklet
When she laughs I count her teeth
And I count the beeds in her necklace
When she laughs I count her teeth

succubus You are an incredibly sharp person with a razor sharp perception! I am impressed. I was never going to honor veeresh`s cute little question with any seriousness. A person who cannot tell a fact from a fiction needs sympathy and admission in a mental instituition - not an intellectual discourse. I am amazed to know that you shared the same thought. Good Job! If you were living in Boston, we could have been best of friends - regardless of your gender :)
huma_mir thank you for being my link to my roots. I have not forgotten unplugged. But, as my luck would have it, my days at work have gotten busier ever since Ramadan started. But I know I will get to interact on unplugged in one of coming days. oh, and whats with this `fly on the wall` thing? some inside joke? I need to get myself updated with the street lingo of unplugged. Unkil Tiger sounds great. Good to see you active on chowk.

fara, hellbound, hamidm, vertical, tafreeh, syke, UmairMalik thank you for your kind words. fara, i read your ilog and seems like you are getting married soon. well, i hope my article gives you a perspective on your fiance`s firends. Be nice to them :)
veeresh you write ``Hi Atif, excuse me for not having inter-acted on this board earlier but I was being kept busy lately.``
Keeping yourself busy with bear hunting, eh? Did you find bear? Or was it the bear that found you (again)?
you write ``Even I started off writing funny articles at The Chowk but somewhere along the line got diverted into serious analysis .``
To tell you the truth, your `serious analysis` is quite funny. Keep it up! I am not going to bother with answering your cute little questions. I am sure you don`t need that to write a book about Boston and its social life and politics.

Hey spastic dancer, the truth of the matter is the international bhangra music scene is run by Indian Punjabis, most of them Sikhs from England, for example Panjabi MC. I thought you had a good sense of humour why are you so uptight huh?
Anyway, Pakistani bhangra music is risible and pathetic and just not funky. Please Pakistanis dont do bhangra it doesnt suit you.

Talking about weddings brings a smile to peoples faces because the whole concept of getting married is a great changing point in ones life. It should be welcomed with enthusiasm and good intentions, like your friend did. I think your article made all of us attend the wedding like you did which was great because you know how much us desi`s luv attending weddings in pardes!
It was great to read..but i didnt understand why the comment on your friend being a saudi..it sounded like you wanted to put the message across to whom it was of concern....his personal business i thought...

hello atif -
good morning. how are you doing today. hope you have a less busy day today than you had yesterday. we have all missed you at unplugged for the past few days. why don`t you put an entry in your appointment book titled ``Open a Thread on Unplugged to catch up with Sobia, Scout, Succubus and Huma`` for 1:00 p.m. EST.
Scout, sobia, succubus and I are very happy that you have made it big on the Front Page of chowk. But it would be nice if you come back to your roots - The Unplugged.
lets see, am I forgetting anything? oh yes, Sobia, Scout and Succubus say hello. They are being very nice to me. They take care of me very well. They don`t make me feel that i am just a fly on the wall.
what else. oh, there was some confusion about what ``t`` was for in unkil tahmed32`s name. but after his valiant fight with veeresh, we think t is for tiger. so when you visit unplugged next time, please call him unkil tiger.
ok. take care. be nice.

#40 Veeresh,
Thank you for your attempt at humor. Keep it going and you will succeed one day; but try to not be atif or salim aka kkkandk aka barachota ever again...
i have this crazy urge inside me to answer each and everyone of your questions i.e. provide you answers that are as moronic as your queries; but considering the fact that this is atif`s show here and since the questions were addressed to him, he`s the lucky one!... besides, i`m sure he`ll do a job 10 times better than i would.
Atif, anxiously awaiting your response to the ``honest, curious, no hidden meanings`` questions raised... Take it away...
Regards-
p.s. Atif, i probably shouldnt have taken on #40 directly but i just couldnt help it. Too tempting...
p.p.s. GR8 Article btw!
