Did you have enquiry of why this malfunction happened?
I did not know that PAF has Migs. What was it Mig 21?
Take Off Roll at 300 KPH sounds very fast. I was told Migs can take off from dirt roads at 100 KTS.

Nice article. My NanaJee built many-many buildings of Quetta Garrison before 1947.

Is there a Mohalla called ``Kapura Da Mohalla`` in Quetta, near Masjid Road?

Romair # 32, well done and thanks a lot that, once in a while you spare us with your classical bakwas of IT genies and the huge difference in your and your ex-colleagues monthly income, your tremendous success in the god-damned silicon valley etc etc.

Your relevant reply to the irrelevant part of Urstruly`s post - the one degrading martyrs is duly noticed and appreciated.

At the same time urstruly or for that matter any other Pakistani [you make check my IP I am a resident Pakistani unlike you, facing the hard realities and filthiest face of na-pak fauj of Pakistan everyday] have every right to criticize army`s nefarious role in the destruction of Pakistan as he/she feels like.

You better keep your beak shut and spare us with your muffat mashwarajat and expert opinion from seven seas abroad.

What the hell do you know about ordinary Pakistanis on street. You are a selfish bloodsucker, out to suck blood out of your victims in one form or the other -- but very fond of issuing sermons of patriotism.

And for God`s sake - not every chowk reader falls in the compartment you want to put people in. You seem to have some bizarre inclination to use chowk as some benchmark for some weird criterias.

Mr Malik: i fully agree with your last posts.

Yasirz #62 Unfortunately barren posts like friend`s (to which I just responded) often get more attention than they deserve, while logical, intelligent posts like yours get skipped.

I just want to note that your post (#62) clearly brings out the inherent contradictions in what CREIP nikki has written - and the brazen manner in which he ignores this in his reponse and adds additional lies simply points to his barren character.

Veerseh

I think the best place to put your add in is the Presidency or GHQ of Pakistan. They are known to do anything for half of that kind of money.

Friend: You can criticize what I have written, but you are merely revealing your barren mentality when you start ridiculing me for being an ``old man`` (the same barren mentality that treats people not as individual human beings but as ``minorities`` or ``women``
or ``old`` who are considered weak and therefore are subject of abuse in primitive cultures of the kind you obviously were raised in).

This thread or subsequent discussions had nothing to do the CREIP agenda (i.e. India-Pakistan bs) until nikki showed up with the usual single-theme obsession of CREIPs - berating Pakistanis for their supposed deficiencies.

As for chowk being a Pakistani website, I hate to break it to you but the fact is that it was started and is managed by Pakistanis. I welcome their openness to ``all South Asians`` (and expect nothing less from them, since this is just another example of the big-hearted Pakistanis that 15000 of your countrymen were surprised to discover when they came to Pakistan last spring) and indeed made that point in my post #70 as well: ``Nothing wrong with this urge - I love meeting people from all cultures, as long as they are mature, sensible people who know how to have an intelligent discussion - but to act like the CREIPs routinely do is mere hypocrisy. `` When I diss someone, as I do the CREIPs, I do it based on WHAT they write, not on WHO they are (old or young, Pakistani or Indian, so forth). Even the term CREIP applies to a select group of idiots on chowk who bask on the reflected glory of others.

Have a nice day.

Sincerely,

Old Man Tahmed

Sorry, a bit off-topic, maybe, maybe not . . . but I need to place this here and generate responses . . .

I need a reliable Pakistani mail-in address please . . . to put in my appeal which I shall be placing in the English and Urdu media in Pakistan, and which shall go as follows:-

````This is an appeal to people in Pakistan and elsewhere to help me get in touch with ex-officers and ranks and families of ex-officers and ranks of 24 Punjab Regiment, Pakistan Army.
Or with anybody who was in any way connected with the Pakistan Armed Forces raid on Hussainiwalla, Indo-Pak border, in the 1971 actions, when over 40 Indian soldiers, ranks and officers, were taken captive.
There are closure issues involved for families who were separated over 33 years ago.
Any contact would be appreciated, a reward with an initial corpus of US Dollars 15000/oo is available for distribution for genuine information.
Responses by eMail to veeresh@chowk.com or by mail in Pakistan to c/o . . . .
This bloody old man, who has not life other than hanging on to chowk writes
``(2) by coming to a Pakistani website where he continues to harp on this one theme``
So now it ``a Pakistani site``. Don`t they teach enough English in Pakistan to for this old idiot to understand following from chowk`s home page .....
``Chowk is a platform to publish, discuss and debate writings on a variety of issues that are important to the people of India, Pakistan, and other South Asian countries. It is a place to: ....``
Sorry Nazay saheb,
Wanted to add something useful to your excellent writeup.. but my fate..
Nazar sahib, sorry I`m a bit late to the party, but I`m glad I stopped by. Thanx for a very original and refreshingly personal narrative. Its good to see such material on Chowk... a very welcome departure from the usual Pak-Bharat dushmani debates AND the Islam-khatray-main-hae chants AND the US vs THEM shouting matches.
Could you please also write about some of the ``tragi-commedies`` that went on while you were in the PAF. The incident of the wild boar hitting the F-16 and even worse, the F-16 crashing into the freight train come to mind. I understand, in both incidents, the planes were on, what commercial airliners refer to as, ``taxi``...
indeed, I would like to apologize to NHK as well for taking the subject off the topic.
NHK sahib, I have read a few of your articles over the last few months. There was one where you were stranded in China for sometime etc. And I am sure there are many more you will write about in near future.
You sure have had more than fair share of `adventures` !
hamidm #57 It is reality that is harsh, my friend, not my post to nikki.
My post to nikki only seems harsh because it reflects the harsh reality that is there for anyone to verify on chowk: Like almost every other Indian on chowk, (1) this man writes post after post where he seeks to show his contempt for Pakistanis; but (2) by coming to a Pakistani website where he continues to harp on this one theme, he betrays his obsession with Pakistanis. All I am doing is pointing out that his actions in (2) belie his claims in (1), thus proving the hypocrisy of these CREIPs (Chowk Registered Experts from India on Pakistan).
Just to make my point clearer, look at it this way: I am sure you despise hindu chauvinists (or muslim or any other chauvinists) as much as I do - but do you go to Indian websites to spend month after month telling them how much you despise them?? If you did, wouldnt it mean that in fact you are obsessed by this sorry group, even as you claim to despise them?? That is the big difference between Pakistanis on chowk and Indians on chowk who come here to tell us how despicable we are and how great India is: the former dont have this urge to associate with Indians, the latter do. Nothing wrong with this urge - I love meeting people from all cultures, as long as they are mature, sensible people who know how to have an intelligent discussion - but to act like the CREIPs routinely do is mere hypocrisy.
Another way to make clear is to take an example from the natural world: the frog that puffs itself up trying to make itself look bigger than it really is (the way the CREIP does when he starts crowing on chowk). A picture being worth a thousand words, I present to you the CREIP of the natural world (ha! ha!)
hamidm
I would like to apologize to NHK, but I had to smoke out some rats, who unlike Romair, masquerade behind their self-assumed high ideals but in fact support the status quo of military`s fascist hegemony in Pakistan - because it best serves the interests of a perticular segment of society. Behind every Eichman, there is always one ideologue likes of Alfred Rosenberg.
tahmed,
..... i think you are too harsh with nikki - he does have a point ............ after all, what does nazar`s personal story have to do with the iraq war ?........ but if you go back and look at the sequence of events, you will note that our resident mullahs urstruly and malik are so obsessed with their dark thoughts that they cannot think straight ....... i wouldn`t be surprised if these two guys start reciting from the koran and go on a murderous rampage when confronted by naked woman trying to seduce them ! ....... laholaywalaquwat !
........ in any case, nazar sahib`s story struck a chord because even though i fly at least a couple of times a month, i am still sh*t scared every time the plane takes off - that and my platinum flier status has seriously contributed to my dipsomania ! ........... i look at it this way, if god had wanted man to fly he would have given him wings ! ........ in my book nazar sahib is a very brave man ...............
