well said hamidm2.

Mr Singh, I would rather have believed Saddam Hussain going for all out war against America because Musharraf likes dogs: your concocsion is a little harder to digest.

Sorry.

I don’t dare disagree with hamidm. I think this author is on to something he just doesn’t know it.
Here is why I think he is on to something… If Pakistan army had allowed a Bengali to become PM of Pakistan, what might have happened…? The unofficial answer is that they would have hanged him after three years. Mr. Singh has no idea that the whole thing in `71 was designed to make a Bengali PM of Bangladesh… Pakistan army was running out of Tikka khans.

Consider the possibilities!
Had RFK not been killed, Nixon would not have become president.
If Jesus was not crucified…if Gandhi was not born…if Marx was forced to read books…if Lenin was a little less crazy…
…I have an endless stream of “ ifs” going on now but I will let others contribute some too.

........ it is the tea !

..... this has to be one of the silliest articles i have read on chowk ....... the prallel between bangladesh is so contrived, it is painful ........ the author could have done better by drawing a parallel with the price of tea in china ! ......

here is how it goes: ... iraqis drink a lot of tea, china has a lot of tea, the price of tea has gone up a lot, the iraqis are having a bad day because of caffine deprivation and, so, the elections are going to be a mess .......... makes perfect sense to me!
