The foreign media especially the US media is a powerful weapon. The effect will not be limited to news. It will twist and toss the Indian culture and structure. In the US, it has been wielded by special interests (a minority) to drive their ideology and values into the mainstream. Instead of bringing in everything ``foreign`` to change India, it is better to improve the Indian media.
As, I have said before, putting foreign image on India, is like putting a three piece suit on a leper.

If the quality of Indian newspapers improve due to foreign investment then it would do the nation a lot of good. I mean if you take a look at TOI- which should renamed as the Tabloid of India, forign investment might improve its quality. The Hindu is by far India`s best newspaper in terms of quality of content, but if foreign investment would change its communist tilt, then I am all for foreign investment.

Sunil,
It is rather disturbing that having contacts in the media circles, you have tried present the foreign investment debate in india in such a crass manner of communists against capitalists. Even in the capitalists mecca, USA, Rupert Murdok, the chief of news corp had to abandon his Australian citizenship and take the US one to buy newyork times because even in the US a ``foreign company`` cannot own major news papers. Even though till recently news corp was based in australia, Rupert maintained that it is controlled by a US citizen to overcome the rules, Now news corp is a US company.
There are also severe cross media ownership rules in most countries. May be it is the journos like you who pose a major threat to indian news, simply incompetance and carss political views.

Injuns will keep defecating on streets. Is foreign investment interested in such a country?

[The Hindu is by far India`s best newspaper in terms of quality of content, but if foreign investment would change its communist tilt, then I am all for foreign investment.]
There was a saying that ``Life`` was a magazine for people who could not read and ``Time`` was a magazine for people who could not think.
N. Ram of ``The Anti-Hindu`` put that into practice. If this Commie a$$hole is now screaming bloody murder, that is because there will be an alternative to all the left-wing crap that is put out by him and his cohorts.
What we need is the equivalent of Fox-TV in India, rabble-rousing against the Communists, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Sri Lankans, Chinese, etc., and vociferously presenting the BJP/RSS/VHP/Bajrang Dal viewpoint.
That would at least get the goats of these so-called journalists who are anti-Indian to the core.
