Re: #7
Call of nature could come even if you visit super market for a short time. i was not roaming there for whole day. if you never visited toilette there; you must have been to 1 located upstairs in ``heaven``. seems you live somewhere near aabpara. BTW you are Nadia or Zahra or 2 in 1 ?

DJKewl:

DudeI have never been too long in Super Market that I feel to experience toilets there :P
I have referred average conditions to rest not to level to considering satisfaction. And it needs improvement. I think the victims should write down the disgusting experience to the concerned authorities.
Also I have observed that paid toilets are taken a little more care than free serving toilet places. This things also lead to violate to use toilet services.

And I also do have ran out from pathetic, stinking, puking bathrooms in Aabpara. And Bathroom Fobiac I am now when see signs like ``Bait ul Khula``.

# 1 Nadia Zahra: It is very encouraging to see public toilet places in my city Islamabad with sort of average continuance conditions but providing services for both men/women.

Sorry but have you ever visited the toilette at Super Market (accross the main road). OMG i was there last August during my holidays. i still cant forget that stinking awful smell. the floors & half walls are tiled there but i dont know from where that stink came from. Yach !!!like u enter a dark closed room with millions of dead rats. Besides we are in 21st century and proud nuclear so called islamic country but when u land at isb international airport u find that typical lotas in toilettes. And if you wanna use toilette paper there are attendants offering you but you have to pay them some baksheesh for that.

Naeem,

The chances of solving Kashmir issue are better than the chances of having working public toilets in India and Pakistan. In other words, forget about it. Just enjoy the outdoors :-)

Chandigarh has quite a few public restrooms. Most of these are abused by the users. only where the janitor charges a token amount and stands around to clean the abuse are good. the rest are the most filthy. better to find a tree or a bush.

This morning`s headlines in Indian newspapers is that the new budget may contain a service tax and such a service tax may be levied on users of public conveniences.

The brain-death of India`s central ministry is clearly manifest from this being considered one potential source of revenue. As it is, people who can definitely afford one rupee to take a pee in one of these pay-toilets (such as people riding a motorcycle) nonchalantly prop their bikes against the wall of the toilet and take a leak OUTSIDE the toilet. All you need to do is add a 5% or 10% service tax to this one rupee charge to give these people an even bigger reason why they wouldn`t use a pay toilet. When is the last time any Indian has seen a 5 paisa or 10 paisa coin? How do these idiots called cabinet ministers expect common folks to come up with exact change to use the pay toilet?

Manmohan Singh the Neutered has promised to turn Bombay into another Singapore. He is more likely to turn all of Bombay into Dharavi (proudly pointed out by Indians as Asia`s largest slum!). The Finance Ministry has put out a statement that the new budget would not hit the poor too hard. I suppose the poor would just have to learn to be anal-retentive!

For the record, this brain-dead scheme seemingly originated in the Finance Ministry. The Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram, has an MBA from Harvard. And Manmohan Singh the Neutered has his PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics, I believe. You need Harvard MBA or an LSE PhD to be totally disconnected from reality.

I think I will take a leak against the outside wall of one of the India Tourism Development Corporation hotels to make a point!

Very well suggestion to improve toilet and sanitary conditions in our dear land. Public toilets are a menace and stink to death. The lavatory is not confined to a proper bathroom but it is no crime to pee in open places near walls. To avoid such happening the idiotic lines can be see written on walls which start with an abuse…

“….. Kay Bachay Yaha.n Paishab karma mana hai”
“Who Daikhu Gadha Paishab Kar Raha hai.”

This kind of wall chalking gives a mental sickness to person who is to travel through these corners everyday. There should be a law to eliminate these happening if there is a proper bathroom place nearby.

The most religious saying I have seen is:

“Yeh Masjid ki Dewar hai **** yahan Paishab mat kar”

Making public toilets is not a big deal but also maintaing them by provding them with accessories and firstly the cleaning and washing system on regular basis. The check system of availability of water and sanitation is also very important.
It is very encouraging to see public toilet places in my city Islamabad with sort of average continuance conditions but providing services for both men/women. Gone are the days when there used to be “Garam Hamams” in muhallas and Bazars providing bathing services to men only. And women were thought of committing sin to use any bathroom place.
I think if women workers are also involved in providing their jobs to expand this basic necessity to an appropriate solution. After all “Safai is Nisf Eman”
