Torture is a crime and to reveal a crime you can not commit a crime. It is the duty of the intelligence agencies to gather evidence against the culprits/ law breakers. However, when these agencies fail to perform their duties efficiently, they resort to torture which indeed is more heinous crime.

The information revealed through torture may or may not be authentic as there is no criterion of evaluating such confession or information. If this information at a later stage proves to be correct then we may convince ourselves and justify the torture committed, however, if the information proves to be wrong, there is no turning back. Hence, I suppose that instead of finding the easy way out to obtain information/ confession through torture, intelligence agencies throughout the world should try to handle their jobs more efficiently and concentrate on gathering evidence rather then torturing people.

Torture in any form no matter upon whom and by whom is a crime and can not be justified.
