Syed Saheb
I am a man. So Mr. would be fine. I am a student of life. My philosophy is the philosophy of good living.
Don`t seek illuminatination and enlightenment from Me, although God does live within Me. Seek it within yourself. Open your eyes. Free your soul. His light burns within you too.
Certainly don`t waste too much time on books. Read them and move on, just as Time met them and continued on Its journey. Books, prophets, sages and incarnations are guides and guideposts are on the path of Time.
Existing and existence are not your purpose and mine. We are divine creatures. Our purpose is goodness.
Focus on that simple truth. Philosophy will come to you, naturally.
May you find the Right Path.

ntsyed mian,
...... like all evangelicals you go from being sweet and kind to being rabidly vicious - i guess it is all part of the act ......... but seriously, you said, ``And now you`re about to resort to profanity as a declaration of legitimate argument bankruptcy. ``.......... can you point out the profanity i have used so far ? ......... you might consider the term ``wild-eyed jihadi`` profane, but it is part of the common lexicon ....... you don`t see the hindoos complaining about the term ``horrible hindoos`` which i coined, trademarked and brought into common usage on chowk, do you?........... it seems that the ummites are rather insecure, which doesn`t say much about their faith ........
......... on another note, i don`t think you should tangle with sattar sahib, a true believer who knows more about islam than you can ever hope to know ...............

Syed sahib …
OK … let’s look at the full context of your comment. Apparently you think …
... A Muslim ruler, after careful consideration that doing so is for the greater well being of ummah … may decide to kill those who worship other gods. And the Muslim ruler has jurisdiction only over his own territory.
Is this it??? How does full context make this lunacy acceptable?
How can killing people for worshipping other gods be good for the ummah? This is possible only if ummah is largely made up of insecure fanatics … which makes their ruler a bigger fanatic …
Let`s not blame the media for ummah`s lunaices. Such silliness existed much before CNN was formed by the evil zionists ...

dear nt sahib,
you are now repeatedly being stubburn. you don`t really talk about things said to you, in a direct manner. i have had discussions with moulvi types as devout as you but who at least talk to the point. this makes me conclude that communication with you is impossible. so, we better chill out and take it easy. this will save yourself a lot of time and your allah will give the ajar to me.
jazak allah khair.....

Re: #181,
Welcome Sattar, what a beautiful name you have, masha Allah!
``This is sheer nonsense. Killing people for worshipping their gods is lunacy.
Sahib … I could sorta see where you were going with your Islam … but this puts you in the category of dangerous fanatics …``
As much as I appreciate your name - one of the known qualities of Allah, I`m disappointed to see your response. Not because you think I`m a border-line fanatic, that`s your perception and you`re entitled to it.
First of all, as an educated person you should be aware that a Muslim ruler has jurisdiction over his own territory only. Unfortunately, lack of such understanding and the haste to get to the conclusion allowed you distort the context by conveniently omitting the following sentence:
``Even so, he should do that after careful consideration for the well being of the greater umma, etc.``
Distorting context is not befitting of educated and intelligent men, rather it`s a prominent trait of wretched disbelievers/unbelievers/pseudo-believers and uneducated people.
I`m sure you`re not one of them and are looking out for your Muslim brethren. However, with due benefit of doubt, I think you made an honest mistake to jump to conclusion before pondering, or even before reading, my statement pasted above.
My dear, don`t buy into everything the media - Muslim media included - spits at you. Like I told another fellow here, there`s no such thing as a blind-faith in Islam. But to believe that you`ll have to read Quran and Sunnah and then think about it with complete honesty and sincerity. Otherwise, you`ll also fizzle away like the others who claimed to had seen it all and done it all, yet turned out more hollow than an inflated 5 cent balloon - pops even if squeezed gently. Similarly, there should not be a blind faith in any one, may it be a technologically advanced nation or some butt-kicking leader with a large military force to make up for his lack of maculine endowments. People with blind faith always get slaughtered like sheep that follows the herd blindly without thinking if it`s going to end up in a pasture or a slaughter house.
The rest is your choice.
M`as-salaam if you`re a Muslim,
otherwise,
Ciao.

Dear Mr/Miss Kaalchakra (your name is too ghan-chakra for me to figure out a proper title... sorry)
``Religions demand, and should be given, respect as matters of `faith.` When you step into the territory of `reason,` you invite silence from the faint-hearted and the dishonest, and opposition from the brave and the honest.``
I`ve seen the silence of faint-hearted and the dishonest on this board, but the other kind I`ve yet to encounter. Most of the other kind I`ve encountered has no basis to substantiate their claims, thus either chicken out, or lie about things they don`t know, and finally resort to profanity and violence (if they could), contrary to their allegations on the opponents - namely Muslims.
There is no such thing as blind faith... there`s always a reason. Lack of reason is what has brought this world to the point where it stands. For that we`ll have to dig deep into philosophy and history and face up to the bitter facts as they appear, and I`m not sure any of the pseudos are ready for it.
``So do your fellow Muslims a favor, and keep away from reason.``
That sounds like Bush-Blair team threatening the Muslims not to question their motives, lest they get bombarded. That`s what separates boys from men and believers from non-believers. I hope its not too deep for you and non-muslim friends.
``May God grant you peace and may your faith be suitably rewarded in Heaven. If your faith does not harm others, God will have no problems with your sticking to it.``
I appreciate your courtesy and prayer, and I`m hopeful Allah will reward me here and in the hereafter. By His grace alone, so far my faith has neither harmed any being nor it will. But your statement strongly suggests as if Allah has shaken some major faiths in false deities and/or the lack of it altogether.
Before I go, one quick question for you, since you seem like a student of philosophy:
Can the lack of existence be an existence, and the existence be a lack of existence?
I, and I`m sure a lot of people here like me, look forward to your illuminating and enlightening response.

Honorable Syed Sahib exclaimed “ … there is no other deity other than ALLAH, and to consider others as one is shirk – punishable by death in shari’a …” (#170)
When prodded, he tried to validate it by stating “…the punishment I referred to is not to be executed by individuals... only the ruler of a shari`a compliant country has the right to mete out such a verdict … “ (#179)
This is sheer nonsense. Killing people for worshipping their gods is lunacy.

My dear paranoid Hamid,
I was hoping after exhausting your intelligence on studying Islam you would have known that the punishement I referred to is not to be executed by individuals... only the ruler of a shari`a compliant country has the right to mete out such a verdict. Even so, he should do that after careful consideration for the well being of the greater umma, etc. The last time I checked, even USA still retains death sentences as capital punishment, though, in future that may change to huge monetary fines, but that`s another tangent. lol
But I`m truly disappointed to see you freak out like this!
What is it with aadha-teeter-aadha-batair pseudo-seculars whose one half doesn`t know the other?
Why are you afraid of death, that you shudder at the mere mention of it? Is it the darkness of the grave that scares you more than the one of being a proud ignorant? You`re even beginning to be scared of your own thoughts. Have some pity on yourself man, set yourself free of such nonsensical fears.
Otherwise, be steadfast in your belief or the lack of it. Death is imminent, and no one knows how and when it befalls each of us. Your steadfastness will help you embrace it, but then again, that`s the dilemma of the disbelievers/unbelievers/pseudo believers - no faith thus no steadfastness, thus, fear of everything outside their fragile shells.
You see my fine feathered friend, I`ll let you in on a golden rule. Now shed your fears and read carefully and then think about it... darn it!
``before one sets out to confront anyone / anything, first he/she must confront his/her own weaknesses and shortcomings because that`s what his/her opponent will go for.``
I`m disappointed that you`ve yet to accomplish this feat, because you`ve proven yourself opposite of what you claim to be. And now you`re about to resort to profanity as a declaration of legitimate argument bankruptcy.
The only exception in the above rule is that it doesn`t apply to Allah in any manner one can think of. He`s closer than your jugular... tum ko maloom bhi nahi paray ga aur wo tumhara taentwa daba dein ge...
phir madad k liye yaad kertay rehna jesus, bhagwaan, bush, itsi bitsi dickie chhunnu, politics for dummy rummy, and condomi gonza-lassed punks ko.
ye salaay sub excessive and frequent evacuation of watery feces, usually indicating gastrointestinal distress or disorder (diarrhoea, for the medically challenged), pakar k bathroom ko bhagtay nazar ayen ge.
Take care and lighten up! I`m not your enemy, and I have no intention of suicide or homicide because both are haram. But agar tum larnay aye to all bets will be off, and I`ll do what I can to kick your lard-pseudo-secular behind all the way back to cheechon-ki-malyan.

Dear Mr. ntsyed
`Faith` exists at the level of the individual, but reason is collectively constructed.
Religions demand, and should be given, respect as matters of `faith.` When you step into the territory of `reason,` you invite silence from the faint-hearted and the dishonest, and opposition from the brave and the honest.
So do your fellow Muslims a favor, and keep away from reason.
May God grant you peace and may your faith be suitably rewarded in Heaven. If your faith does not harm others, God will have no problems with your sticking to it.

Re: # 14 Thanks for reading my article...It was written in a light vein...I never imagined some people would take it so seriously....I wore the abaya not by choice at first. I had moved to KSA from USA....It was a requirement so i wore it. But as I increased my Islamic knowledge, I did not mind my wearing the abaya at all....And then of course i also noticed the `advantages` of wearing one (jst kidding)
Hey, I was not an economic refugee at any time when I came to Saudi Arabia. Rather I left a job in the USA, to become peniless here (sikka raijul waqt u know is not pennies here)
Hope all this will satisfy ur curiousity....Thanks
