Loved every line of it Sameen Khan!
You have a tremendous knack of writing on ``trivial`` (wink wink) matters.

Abaya tent is the most useless creation ever to have came out of Arabian lands. It is practically impossible to ride a bike, play double dutch, run to catch a bus, or to watch a cock fight. It is about time to get on with times, and may be a little black piece of material can be attached to one’s collar to symbolize modesty – if that’s the objective of Abaya.
Pitching a tent on a woman is really quite distasteful.

an abaya could also be seen as a symbol of forced segregation in much the same fashion the nazis did with tattoos on the fore arm of incarcerated jews

yaar give it a rest for crying out loud.
Your comment reminds of an Omar Sharif play where he tells the other character that he would never take his wife to Clifton beach. The other character asks `why`. Omar Sharif replies``wahan log apni laatay nahin aur hamari dekhtay haiN``.

Only mullas would find this amusing. It isn`t funny. Though some of it is well written. The `jokes` are kind of knock knock type......

Funny article.
It shows how people can be compalcent or lazy if others dont judge them on their dressing sense or physique (or figure in your case).
The last paragraph was hilarious.

hamidm2:
Caught a glimpse of you streaking at the ball game. Kinda Shy & coy you were hiding your jewels & assets with each palm. Kangaroo-hopping, you swooshed by diagonally across the ballpark.
Good show, but why zig-zagging?

Sameen!
Abaya is a symbol of security and respect. What dress sense and other things you mentioned in your article has to do with this abaya.

``an abaya could also be seen as a symbol of forced segregation in much the same fashion the nazis did with tattoos on the fore arm of incarcerated jews``
T, don`t you think you are being tooooooo harsh? I mean, come on, what`s wrong if a lady takes to wearing abaya of her own free will?
Let a lady be...
Sameen, I don`t wear an abaya or a jilbab, that fashionable cousin of dress savvy hijabis, but with my dressing woes these days, oh what would i not give to resort to investing in such a trendy `tent` and rid of all that morning ponderings deciding on waht to wear to work...and only if people would stop judging women how they dress...for heaven and hell and all things in between`s sake...
I understand you may or not have started wearing an abaya after shifting to KSA but please do come back here and let it be known that your abaya is by choice...
on another note...coming out of the airport wearing abaya means being loaded with money... is it the same Karachi/Jinnah International Airport you are talking about...for if i remember right, an abaya is never, has never, been an invitation and declaration of a bulging with notes wallet... leave it to all those `helpful` souls doing the rounds at the airport to get some money out of an unsuspecting you... been conned enough to say that...and i did not even wear an abaya!
puresoul: Abaya is a symbol of security and respect... things, as you may have seen from the responses this write up drew, are a bit different here.
TT: You been hanging out at city centre eyeing girls again? tsk, its folks like you who bring abad name to desis.

bado no arguments there...if
if it is her conscious and free decison...and i do not know her...so it may be her free will...(if this is so Sameen my apologies)... or
or as i suspect she is giving in to societal pressures... it is this travesty that i hinted at...one can easily see how women in islam have been brain washed and maneuvered to take a second place to man in what appears to be a deliberate and machiavellian effort in an already male dominated world...
