``dil aagaya `kisi` pUr toa pUree kyaa cheez hai``.

``UnGRRaee bhhee voh lainay naa paaey, uthhaa kay haath
daikhhaa mujhhay toa chhoRRe diyay muuskuraa kai haath``

Must be the beautiful spring season keh ``tuum itna jo muskuraa rahay ho``.

..zaroor koi baat hai, zaroor koi baat hai.

[The best men in the world are Desi or muslim: At least that is what Diana (Doady & that Paki Doctor) , Jemima( Khan), Sonia( Gandhi), Suhaa(arafat), Jehan( Sadat) attest to that plus all the unsung blondes who are happy in the harems of the Sheikhs & Emirs--in a buurquaa!. ]

It`s a matter of personal taste :)

Bhaee aap kaa sense of humor daikh kr khushee huee.

In stories told by grandmaa there was a young & beautiful princess who was always sad & angry.
Her father, the king announced a reward for for anyone who could bring a smile to her face.............

That`s all Zahraj.

OK:
Headline should read:

Liz Hurley turns sari clad keeper of Arun.

or

Liz Hurley turns sari clad in adult relationship with arun.

but definitely not bahu. ..their is still a certain respect & decorum left in that word. If there is a bahu, can a saas be far behind?

It comes with the territory. Can`t have it everywhich way.

...hehehehehe... you are ostracised for telling the truth...;)

dhoti reminded me of an old Omer Sharif joke on malabaris in the UAE:

During the hot desert summers, the UAE govt only has to watch how they (malabari) wear the lungi. At 40c the lungi goes up to the knees; at 45c it goes higher; and at 50c the govt simply announces: ``malabari dekhna mana hai``

My apologies if anyone is offended.

Maybe this is the epitome of good manners that i should emulate. My apologies , too, if anyone is offended. And to be called a marathi ``ghati`` one of the other boards is also indicative of the `cultured` people such as yourself and others that i should emulate, i presume.Such good manners.Pray, tell me, which school did you attend?.

Interesting piece, preferably if read straight without metaphors...

A few general points: Dhotis look far better on women. The Maharashtrian style nine-yard saree functions in pretty much the same way as does the koli (fisher)women`s. The latter is a clingier version.

Re. Liz Hurley in the pink saree, she had draped in badly -- there was something tacky about the way her pallu covered only one half of the blouse. It looked gauche; if she wanted to sex up her act, there are several versions of the choli she could have played around with.

About her being a `rakhail` -- a kept woman-- it would make better sense to refer to Arun as the kept man, since she is the wealthier and more famous of the two. That is, if one wishes to pigeonhole people. They are lovers -- she is single and he has been separated from his wife and court proceedings are on. They are two adults in a Relationship.

I suppose the concept is a little difficult for the `keepers` of `morals` to understand.

Nice article.
Dhoti,Jhaggi,Khussa,Chaadra,Huqqa,Saafa,loyee,Ghaggra,phulkaari....all these things have almost disappeared and given way to their so called modern counterparts. Is it because of our unconscious desire to identify with the master(angrez) or simply a change and in which direction this change is heading?
The article reminded me of Dr. Wazir Agha`s ``inshaiyey``.

echo: Iss main itna khush honae kee kyaa baat hae? I liked the sense of humor in this ``sweet`` write-up and not the desi-ness/muslim-ness/Pakistani-ness or ``Punjabi-ness``. Do not misread and misinterpret.

Feroze Qutubshahi:

Zahraj has said what I wanted to say.

I echo:
A sweet write-up.

shades of akhtal-uliman: ``mgar ubb voh chhotaa saa laRRkaa kahaaN`` in the last lines. Any thoughts there.

P.S: and you as a bona-fide desi, muslim, Paki--thanks a million to have brought smiles & good cheer to Zahraj. Now I can walk a little more cheerful because I too have a dhoti, a huQQuaa, and Paandaan to quell those ``critical`` bouts.

A nice article i like the ``Dhoti`` thing which you mixed up with prevailing styles in desi people.

Thanks for the compliment.
What other perspective should I have if not a Paki or a muslim`s? haaN?

I respect you because you too have a hindian perspective. you are not monkey-see, monkey-do.

Anyone who retains language, religion, food, dress despite the rampant western racism all over the world is my buddy--even if he is an outspoken & outed former-muslim.

Anyone who is a munafique , a now-you-see-me-now-you-don`t smoke-&-mirror-operator,
better change his route if he spots me.

But she is still a Rakhail because he is a boyfriend & not a husband........

It might boost your ego to know that you are making tremendous contribution towards lowering chowk standards. Please tone down your anti punjabi/sardar comments especially when no one is attacking you.

If you need help with good manners, you can always take some self help on-line courses at night rather than surfing filthy sites.
