Stuka, another great essay!! Good job! In your article and in your responses, you come across as a decent man, not something common among the other interactors from the other side of the border (with a few exceptions).

Also, credit should be given to the folks in Pakistan who played the gracious host. That has nothing to do with what you later wrote, and everything to do with the fine tradition of welcoming guests who visit with good intentions.

I was watching GeoNews last night, and in an interview with Yousuf Youhana, he said that in all the time that he played for the Pakistani team (708 years), he had never been offered any individual commercial/advertisement endorsements IN PAKISTAN.

However, on his trips to India, there were plenty of organistaions willing to sign him up for commercial activities.

He then went on to to say that the only explanation for this was his RELIGION.

Firstly, I am shocked that he has never been considered for any endorsements...just look at the Indian team, every player has endorsements irrespective of their religion or looks (and lets face it, someof them are seriously challenged in the looks dept).

Secondly-isnt that disgraceful that one of our premier batsman who gives all to Pakistan is singled out and discriminate din this way?

He also made references to him being deposed as VC, but he brushed it aside saying that being skipper/VC made no difference to him and that he would be there for the team all times...but reading between the lines (looking at his body language and tone of voice during the interview), he looked quite sad at this.

I think YoYo has been treated quite badly by us.

Dayal Singh was actually a Christian, he was the son of General Lehna Singh who became Christian to marry an English woman.
Anyways, he did give lot of charity to Hindu/Muslim/Sikhs alike for education.
That is why, after 1947 his trust`s name could not be changed. Same is true for Ganga Ram Hospital. They were even supported after the partition.
