Re: # 64
What do you mean by ``wired``,
If it means that it is an instinctive behaviour, then sure it is genetic and if it is a learned behaviour then it may be psychological disorder. However, I am of the opinion that all of us are genetically programmed for both orientations at the same time. Later our learned behaviour, thru interaction with society - since it takes two to tango - makes it our conscious choice.
Shore Sahib??

scott - :)) and eeyowtch.
urstruly - homosexuality is not a disorder and it is not a choice - it is a sexual orientation. you like girls [well not noticeably given your obsession with sending them to hell but presumably for some purposes you do] but some men like other men.
echoboom - here`s a biblical reference for you: oysters or snails?

amrita,
Why is homosexuality not a genetic disorder? I am still trying a form an opinion on homosexualtiy, so would like your input.
Also, one of my friends thinks homosexuality is like an allergy, one is born with it and cannot change it only deal with it but it ain`t normal.

Re#67
Your opinion on homosexuality is really not required, so why dont you focus on taking out that meter long baton wedged somewhere in your person.

ShoreSahib,
I know my opinion is not required but then I need to form an opinion for myself so asked Amrita about it.

ShoreSahib,
By the way, I do not think homosexuals are lesser mortals, but they definitely are different.

vivek - its not a genetic disorder because it is neither genetic nor a disorder. there has been considerable amounts of research done into this in the past few decades and science can find nothing to say it has something to do with your genes any more than heterosexuality. i dont know where you live but if you live in the US then you should be able to walk into any barnes and noble and come out clutching five million books on the subject. if you live in india, then check out dr, saleem kidwai.
the question you have to ask is what business is it of yours what two consenting adults decide to do when said act does not infringe on the life or liberty of another?

amrita,
``the question you have to ask is what business is it of yours what two consenting adults decide to do when said act does not infringe on the life or liberty of another? ``
I never said anything about declaring homosexuality illegal or called it a crime. Homosexuals have every right to do what they want to do. But my question was purely out of curiosity and academic, and I was definitely not suggesting anything.

Re: # 75
You chose to include it in your post. It is demeaning and not to mention inaccurate, because allergies are anything but abnormal.

Re: # 73
vivek - i wasnt being confrontational. i was saying that if you are wondering about homosexuality in the society of which you are a part of, a rational stand to take would be that its none of your business [term used matter of factly here] who does what to whom in which orifice as long as those actions are private expressions between two consenting adults.
my tuppeny as asked for, thats all.

ShoreSahib,
I guess you don`t read properly because I specifically mentioned it as my friend`s opinion. If it was mine I would have said so.
Amrita,
As a matter of fact, I do go on with life as though its none of my business, but there is a part of my mind which wants to form a definitive opinion about everything including homosexuality.

...... to be honest i was a little wary of homosexualty untill i got to know (i mean, really know) some people with a different sexual orientation ....... and i found them to be just like ``us``, and much better in some cases .......... like amrita says , it is none of my business what they do in the privacy of their bedroom - i am sure some of us straigh folks are pretty kinky too !

Dear Amrita,
Hope you don`t take this as a personal attack. My apologies in advance if you feel hurt, since that is not my intention. Also, please feel free to feel treat my advice like the piece of junk it is. But my sincere advice to you is to grow up and stop writing postings with the format below.
(1) Here is the latest superficial fad in Western society
(2) I (Amrita) am extremely cool, sympathetic and insightful since I approve of / condone this trend
(3) And all people who agree with me are extremely compassionate, enlightened and modern
(4) Likewise, the West is a great place because this fad is recognized, and not disapproved of. In fact, this fad has brought the West even closer to becoming a Paradise on Earth (we shall forget that 100 years ago, the opposite thing was the fashion in the West).
(5) India, of course, is Hellish and largely inhabited by sub-humans who either disapprove of this fad or do not admit it exists in India.
(6) Like Lord Macaulay, I, Amrita, am patiently working on bringing the fruits of Western Enlightenment and faddishness to India; surely one day I shall succeed.
As I said earlier, apologies in advance.
