Mahesh,
You sound a lot better making cogent arguments and I accept your apology. I have nothing against south indians and I apolgize as well if I hurt your sentiments.
On your other points, I was presenting my experiences with this super-rich Delhite Punju guy with his gori girlfriend, who would taunt/abuse her in hindi while smiling at her and holding her hand. Basically he would treat her like garbage. It used to happen in front of my eyes, so what else could I conclude except that she dated him for his moolah?
About Pakistanis and looks, that is my opinion after meeting a wide cross-section of Pakistanis for over 17 years. Of course, the Punjabi/Pathan Pakistanis are the better looking ones as compared to, say the mohajirs. I dont think this is a huge revelation, considering that Punjabis/Pathans dominate the movie industry in both countries. My Lahori best friend in New York was a hunk and a player, much to our envy. However, by hanging around him, we would get introductions to the friends of his girlfriends :-). By the way, I am not a Punjabi.

Amit,
Agreed with you on abuses. Definitely people should be civil to each other. But some of these guys that you are referring to are very knowledgable and it sure helps to know their perspective.

Ajeya: various post about the half-breeds & their masters.
You are proud hindus, proud Indians--and that means a lot to me; even if you fight me. An honourable enemy is far more desirable than a do-gooder westernised-kanjaRR.
``Jo apnoaN kaa NaheeN hotaa; voh kissi kaa bhee naheeN hoataa``.
Your addition is most refreshing to counter the kanjaRRs fro both India & Pakistan here.
The tide definitely is turning. One must assert & bring about an in-your-face aggressive programme to let the low vulgar third rate western garbage.
I too am very happy by the revenge of the Indians--Red & un-red alike. The pill, aids, and gay-gaandoness wis quite a divine programme to rid the world of the westernised kunjURRs. I
think the so-called terrorists are simply wasting their time & energy. They should just sit back & relax and let Darwin do his mercy-killing , of course by divine decree.

Amit, I am sorry if I abused you without provocation.
But you have to admit that you have been making very asinine statements with conviction.
Let`s summarize them here.
1. Women in America give importance to money because you saw one of your friends with a gori girlfriend who put up with taunts she couldn`t understand and took in good faith.
2. Pakistanis have a better shot at dating in the US than Indians.
3. Pakistanis are better looking than Indians.
4. If not for South Indians, Indians would be as good looking as Pakistanis.
5. Brahmins are better looking than non-brahmins in the south.
6. Brahmins in south India actually came from the north.
The degree of absurdity is amazing!
And you think you are promoting dialogue by making these ridiculous statements.

Vivek,
I welcome arguments, debates, criticisms of any kind. I am objecting to the use of foul, abusive language and making unprovoked personal attacks like calling someone moron, amoeba, ant etc. That displays immaturity and an inability to disagree without being disagreeable. If it is a once in a blue moon occurance, that is one thing. But these guys indulge in it in virtually every post in every board. I can reciprocate in kind but I am sure you will agree that is not the right way to conduct ourselves in a public forum.

good point!
another perspective: if their is a S-A social history book written in 50 years from now it would mention the contribution of chowk in no uncertain terms...
...by providing this free (in more sense than one) platform the chowk owners/staff have contributed positively in promoting understanding, awareness and tolerance and in lessening suspicion and hatred
the numbers of gung ho extremists on this site is consdierably less than over there...ofcourse there will always be a few jays...like in real life...
...another observation: most of the newbies come here with a chip on their shoulder...whether they realise it or not is another subject...but...over a period they mellow down...and become more understanding than before

amit #435,
Going by what you have written only people who agree with you are the ones would have the right to post here. Let me remind you, censorship is the right opposite of what you claim that you support (democracy and free speech). By the way, stop generalising people like ``Pakistanis are better looking, etc``, there are often not true and very condescending.

Little about pill:
It`s revenge of those American Indian, Aboriginy civilization. Those dead souls are taking the revenge. In 1960 global population had 25% European or European extract, but today it`s less than 14%. Pill Zindabad! By 2030 it would be less than 5%.

I wish the chowk staff would do something about the posters like jay, Mahesh, arjunm, prashant (gujjubania) etc, who have only one mission in life - they come to chowk to attack Pakistanis on every issue and they also attack any Indian who tries to discuss matters or develop understanding with Pakistanis. As a case in point, you saw how they literally ripped into stuka on his boards. It is the same situation here where Mahesh launched an attack on me without any provocation. I dont mind constructive criticism but these guys just use abusive language and personal attacks. These guys make me sick and it is hard to tolerate them any more.
What I dont understand is why these posters come to chowk if they hate everything in Pakistan and they hate Indians who reach out to Pakistanis? How can you hate something so much and still participate in it all the time?

Now about pillorized generation. Women`s liberation, confidence and pill has no relation.
Scene1: We all are sitting in a conference room of a prestigious east coast research lab associated with a university in 1985. It`s the time of high honey moon between uncle sam and hayena land. A sari clad, bindi on forehead and mangalsutra around the neck is presenting her patented laser guded robotic application for use in minfield clearing. She was the project leader and also a PHD student EE/CS. The assistant director of the lab arranged this presentation for visiting Lt. General and few Brigadiers. These guys were in utter shock. They asked few faltu questions in fake American or Desi convent accent in return they got answers in Marathi village accent. Whenever American asked a question, they got replies in fluent American English and accent. Later in the lobby another Indian student heard one of the brigadier saying - sala, we cannot escape from these Hindoos. Some of them had kids in the same university attending to get degrees like BA (Hon) ... you know what I mean. These hayina gaandoos were royally bambooed. Later they visited Material Science Deptt and Lab where the presentation was by a sari clad Tamilian Associate prof whose Tamili husband was chair of the deptt.
This kind of bambooing is womens true lib not squatting in the chowk and melting bras into custom condoms.
But this kind of air-headed bimbogiri (AB) is what comes first to the shore from the west and finally leads to BAgiri. When beloved Farzanabibi and other Rita darlings in skimpy dresses were going to safaya (aka Sophia) colleges these ladies were slogging in IITs and Engineering colleges. My 16 year old did a very nice skit using the song in the link on globalization or what gets globalized first for his English Lit class.
In late 80s and early 90s we spread in villages and small towns Gyanba Tuka C++ Shika with the help of TIFR/NCDVT and CADAC which gave fruits in 100s of good H1Bs and companies where good work is downloaded. Anyway most here wont understand. Halliday Resnick, Lonies Trig can go with Gyanba`s Dindi. In fact Dnyaneshwar Mauli says - Samagama Kara Vidnyan and Sadnyan.

harish #432: When someone starts stereotyping people (``good looking pakis``, ``smart madrasis``) I am reminded of the russian joke during WWII: the German ideal is slim like Goering (who was a fat pig); handsome like Goebbels (who was a shrivelled prune); and blonde like Hitler (who was black haired patient of chaudhury shankar).
I am surprised Amit should have started this by making such a dumb statement - ignoring this one statement, he is actually a thoughtful person. All this proves is that smart people say dumb things sometimes. As for his being a ``na ghar ka na ghat ka`` - in fact it is the other way round: it is people like him who can claim to the heritage of ENTIRE humanity, Indian, Pakistani, and indeed the rest of the world. It is the ultra-nationalists who are the true ``dhobi ka kuttas``. Since they know nothing but hate - today they may hate on the basis of nationality, tomorrow they will hate people of their ``own`` country on the basis of ethnicity, and the day after they will hate their own brother for some other reason.

[Otherwise, we northies are pretty much at the same level as the Pakistanis.]
Did you every hear the famous saying, ``Kawwa chala hans ki chaal``? That pretty much sums up this post of yours. But unfortunately for you, you`re neither as ``good looking`` as the Pakis, nor as smart as us Madrasis, which is why the saying, ``Dhobi ka gadha na ghar ka na ghat ka`` applies well to you.

Ever since I joined engineering college , I have come across enough north Indian bhaiyyas and punjus to say for sure that the loony toon Amit is not alone in his stupid abiding belief about how bhaiyyas/punjus are better looking than the `madrassis`.....
What really shines through is the severe inferiority complex of these morons. But obviously they are too dumb to realise that.

[...why the f**K in are u in the land of the free when social mores of your backward village in Hindustan are more appealing...``f**king hypocrite...]
This is probably the most cliché-ed argument used by idiot desis.
Here’s the Answer:
For the same reason that Americans work for YEARS in places like Saudi Arabia without necessarily identifying with Arab culture - FOR MAKING MONEY!
As I have said in a post earlier – I do not agree with American values, so I’m not settling here.
TRY AND REFUTE THIS LOGIC, FUC KHEAD.
But by the same token (i.e. your own logic),
NEVER SET YOUR FOOT ON INDIAN SOIL AGAIN, $HITHEAD!.

[AChu*tiya......Please old man....why do u waste ur time posting material about the Goan Inquisition when this board is one related to sexual and general societal openess in a desi context...WHYYYYYYY?....]
Do I detect some desperation there?
I am going to be on your case on any board you show your ugly face.
But I’ll let you go if either:
a) You complete the following threads (see #2 below) of argument either by giving counter-arguments,
or,
b) Admit that you were wrong.
Its your choice.
Here are the reasons why:
1) Your attitude
In response to my very polite post#167, your post was:
“HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH...too much yaar....fascinating analysis of the ``kala threat``......hate to be too inquisitive man..but were you one of those dorky desis in college who tried and tried to get Jenny or Carly and watched them fall for ``smooth talking break-dancing`` Tyrone..... hahahahah..god...only thing that should make u happy is that ur lot still exists in my generation...and I and most of my friends who dont have such inadequecy inspired fears tend to pity them.
As for your gora colleagues who discuss ``sexual positions`` with you at work...its high times you found some other colleagues in your firm to chat to....maybe another firm while you are at it...”
You are just a little punk, a johnny-come-lately, with very little experience in life. The least you can do is talk decently.
And similar attitude all through.
2) Your complete refusal to respond to arguments that refute your logic. It’s one thing to shut up and go elsewhere. It’s quite another to keep repeating the same line without responding to what I am saying. And adding insults to make up for the lack of logic.
For example:
Let’s take this thread:
You: [....irrational stereotyping of the goray]
Me: Irrational? Really? Why?
You: [Okay man......why did I say ``irrational stereotyping``???...because you surelyhave lived enough in the ``immoral West``...to know it is not all so bloody immoral....for f***`s sake...its not as if every guy and girl are bonking left right and centre as you and a few others seem to make it out. Nor is pre-marital sex some kind of society wide norm accepted by one and all...]
Me:
“every guy and girl are bonking left right and centre”
Never mentioned it.
”Nor is pre-marital sex some kind of society wide norm accepted by one and all...”
Never said that either.
You: No answer.
Another thread:
You: [fascinating analysis of the ``kala threat``......]
Me: You think?
[but were you one of those dorky desis in college who tried and tried to get Jenny or Carly and watched them fall for ``smooth talking break-dancing`` Tyrone.]
Me: No.
You: [and pointed references to the existence of a ``kala threat`` to ``our women``]
Me: What “kala threat” are you talking about?
And why is “our women” in quotes?
You: No answer.
Another thread:
You still didnt get my fundamental point...in terms of the social system all is indeed not great in the ``land of opportunity``...but all is not well in Bharat either..the difference being in the former not many crow about the solidity and great success of the system....while the likes of you do so for the latter.
Me: Who said everything is okay in Bharat, knucklehead?
Have you ever listened to AM radio, bonehead? That’s ALL they do 24 hours a day. And Europeans are far worse.
You: No answer.
Another thread:
You: [The result is they at least document...record...and can analyse their societal problems in a detailed scientific manner..while it takes a gang-raped Mukhtaran Mai in Pakistan etc etc....to highlight what happens often but is not said in our far too long closeted communities.]
Me: There are enough documentaries, and newspaper reports and NGOs in India. Did you read the coverage after the Gujrat riots?
Indians face hugely greater problems because of widespread illiteracy and poverty. There are terrible problems amongst the very poor in America as well.
Yes, amongst the poor whites. Would you believe that?
Think before you write anything, pinhead.
You: No answer.
Another thread:
you: [..just said they are more honest in their private and public lives for that matter....and I repeat linking the former to the latter might help explain the staus of widescale corruption in our societies...its quite logical.]
What proof did you give about them being more honest?
And this “linking” – is this just your gut feeling, or are you also going to provide some reasoning?
3) I am also trying to find a link between your slavish mentality and your forefathers the goanese Indians who were taken in as slaves and converted to Catholicism after much whipping:
Here’s a quote:
“Furthermore, the newly converted gentiles who had passed the greater part of their lives as pagans, and those who lived in Goa were slaves or servants, who with the intention of improving their status in the house of their lords, had changed their religion to Catholicism, these ignorant and rude men might merit at most some whipping, and not death by fire. ”
There’s lot more where that came from.
