Who are Monster`s? Americans or America’s Frankensteins?
I
have interviewed a Palestinian who gave me compelling evidence of anal
rape with wooden poles at Bagram - by Americans, not by Afghans. (Robert Fisk)

Syed Javed Hussain:
Washington war-mongering will only fabricate futuristic Frankensteins. Uncle Sam`s Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde duplicity stands no longer opaque.
Simultaneously for the Mujaheedin-i-Khalq’ (Mk)- Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, a theft from;
those who hunger and are not fed,
those who are cold and unclothed.
Syed Javed Hussain, gazing into the future what do you perceive will be the ramifications of nourishing MK Frankenstein ?

....... the ayatollahs in iran are an aberration that must go and if the mk can help, so be it - sometimes you have to choose the lesser evil ...........having said that, i think selective economic sanctions combined with covert and overt support for the moderate factions is a better option - the people of iran will not tolerate the tyranny of the mullahs for long .........george bush is a man of conviction and action who has demonstrated that he has learned from past experiences and will be able to prevent creating another monster ......... the new governments in afghanistan and iraq are an encouraging sign ...............

Actually the cartoon is not far off the mark. If Pakistani rulers had character, they never would have allowed Arab thugs into the country, never made mullahs a political force by allowing them to recruit boys from poor families to go and get killed in kashmir fighting their ``proxy wars``, nver would have allowed maulvis to indulge in open murder of shias and other minorities. It was only after the US told the rulers to choose sides - terrorists or the US - that they got their act together.

How Ayatollahas in Iran can be branded as an berration? What wrong have they done to humanity, human civilisation and culture and its institutions? They have been frank and unequivocal in condemning coercion, injustice and despotism. They have always talked sense. They have displayed sincerity, devotion and respect for human dignity and progress. Regarding Mr. Bush I can only say pl don`t believe he is always right. His diabolical tunnel vision on Iran is further blinded by his total bias for Israel. American citizens are paying the price for his adventurous and unthinking policies and faulty vision of the world. Pl don`t mix up semi literate, half wits, passionate lunatic mullah in the lands of Islam with genuine, thinking, farsighted and wise Islamic scholars like Ayatollah`s of Iran who are inheritors of the traditions of prophets to help himanity to carry on with the light of Islam i.e. the light of wisdom, pristine glory of humanity, love, understanding and human dignity.

syedjaved #9 If they are so wise and far-sighted etc., why are they not willing to allow any party other than their own to run for elections in Iran?

No party can be banned in Iran if it follows certain basic parameters of Iran`s constitution. It must respect Islamic values and its policies should not be detrimental to human society and its institutions. The Iran image has been tarnished by an event in Iran in the early days of Iran revolution of 1979. I am hinting at US embassy hostage embroglio. Otherwise Iran and its rulers have done nothing that can be considered detrimental to other nations. Further they talk only about Islam and its universal human values and are making a case for it. This unfortunately does not fare well with certain people, however, the problem will be solved with the passage of time.

javed sahib,
...... if the ayatollas of iran are ``genuine, thinking, farsighted and wise Islamic scholars``, then we are in deeper trouble than we thought !........ an unelected ``council of guardians`` decides who can run in the ``elections`` and women are barred from running for president - if that is the light of islam tthen we are better off in the dark !........ iranian democracy is a farce and nobody, other than those blinded by superstition(faith), take it seriously .............like saddam and mullah omar, the ayatollahs must be rooted out .............. actually, they are far more dangerous

If another Al-Qaeda is made up in the shape of MK then another orgy of blood bath will ensue in the Gulf and the Middle East. God forbid this will be the biggest crime againt humanity. Although the chances for MK to be anywhere near success regarding their avowed goal are negligable, they will be causing a lot of damage to human lives and property and will be a source of constant unease in the Gulf. The US can forestall Iran`s economic progress by doing so in the long run.

Dear hamidm2,
There are many societies where a women cannot be president of the country. Are they not democracies? How can they be so dangerous because they tell people to structure their lives according to the prestine teachings of Islam. Pl don`t mix up Mullah Omer of Afghanistan and his likes with the reall scholars of Islam. Islam is the only hope for mankind and will prove to be so not in distant future. However, please be at peace that Islam will have a sway over all other ideologies through love and understanding and the task will be completed through the real scholars of Islam.

syedjaved #11: ``No party can be banned in Iran if it follows certain basic parameters of Iran`s constitution. ``
Your explanation simply indicates that the iranian maulvis dont mean what they say: because if on paper they make it look like it is a democracy where all parties are welcome as long as they follow some parameters, while in practice they have not allowed any party other than their own to contest elections.
