Your analogy of comparison of Golden Temple siege with Kaaba siege is highly incorrect.
kaaba siege was for taking the control over from ruling Saudi to reform the religion internally.
Harmandar Sahib was in Sikh`s hands, it was used as a fortress to defend against the professional Army.

Wheather this movement is dead or not only time will tell, but for now it is definitely quiet.

I agree with you, bulk of the people in Punjab are full of Ego, chauvinism, domineering and trash the rest attitude types.

Sikhs got some meaning out of Punjabiyat only when Khalsa was created that was classless, casteless society.
Unfortunately, in the present times Sikhs and other Punjabis take more pride in their own Kabila, Tilla, kasba or Caste.
Any right thinking person will freak out when put in touch Punjabis of at least Indian Punjab.

Maximum rapes and abuse
Corruption same level as Bihar

It gets very depressing for any fair headed person when he looks around.
But there is hope, there are NGOs working on remedying this, I know of many such organizations. We need to lot of SEWA to uplift not just Punjab but all mankind.
If communists wants to help, they are also welcome and are others.

Interactor, please try to understand Gandhi was Gandhi because of his followers, who were mostly Hindus. If he started chanting Ya Ali, then Hindus would not own him and Muslims will suspect him.

Govt was more than soft on him, I don`t think he should have been killed though.
There are other ways of dealing with such people and proving your point.

If it is the concept, what part of that concept caused Muslims to worry?

Nirankaris are not even a fraction of Sikhs and yet they show up on these important world congregations. If Govt is not supporting these instiutions who is????
