Re: # 179
Your analogy of comparison of Golden Temple siege with Kaaba siege is highly incorrect.
kaaba siege was for taking the control over from ruling Saudi to reform the religion internally.
Harmandar Sahib was in Sikh`s hands, it was used as a fortress to defend against the professional Army.
Wheather this movement is dead or not only time will tell, but for now it is definitely quiet.

Drlograj: I used to be like you. I think you went through hell emotionaly in Punjab by Punjabis.
I agree with you, bulk of the people in Punjab are full of Ego, chauvinism, domineering and trash the rest attitude types.
They are Bhonkas.
Sikhs got some meaning out of Punjabiyat only when Khalsa was created that was classless, casteless society.
Unfortunately, in the present times Sikhs and other Punjabis take more pride in their own Kabila, Tilla, kasba or Caste.
Any right thinking person will freak out when put in touch Punjabis of at least Indian Punjab.
Female infanticide is highest in Punjab.
Highest Liquor consuption per capita
Maximum rapes and abuse
Corruption same level as Bihar
It gets very depressing for any fair headed person when he looks around.
But there is hope, there are NGOs working on remedying this, I know of many such organizations. We need to lot of SEWA to uplift not just Punjab but all mankind.
If communists wants to help, they are also welcome and are others.

Interactor, please try to understand Gandhi was Gandhi because of his followers, who were mostly Hindus. If he started chanting Ya Ali, then Hindus would not own him and Muslims will suspect him.
I am not his fan, but please show some in-depth thinking by transposing yourself in his time. What would you have done?
He was a Hindu first, who proposed Secularism.

Saaliya Evve Buk-Buk na karya kar, Tu jaunda vi hi ke main kaun hai?
You come on this website and I have seen your signature elsewhere also, just for contradicting everything not making any sense anywhere, anytime.
All you can think of is pasting picture of an Arya Samaji fondling an actress who is pretending as a Khalsa to turn yourself on. Is that your Zenith or peak? Your ingenuity is based on pasting pictures that trash everyone except you. All Chowkies laugh at you for your lack of consistency. I am not even sure who you are or what your background is; but I can see through your posts. Decency is not your make and you take pride in that also?
Should I go around waving my Siri Sahib and kill people who are not like myself or of not my religion. Many Pakistanis respect me for who I am. You wrote terrible words about descendents of Bhai Mardana, you are not a Sikh. If you were you could write such like things.
If you ever want to talk with me then show some etiquettes or else good bye.

187,
YOU - obviously.
Do you even know the meaning of Khalsa? Do you know the purpose of Amrit and 5 Ks? The wearing of kirpan? etc.
I am talking about what they were supposed to be, not what the khusrasikhs of today made it to be.

Sure - I agree with your thoughts. It`s all hindu bania and Gandhi`s fault :) If it was not for them - there would have been a Punjabi Nation.

terranova: this is not a case of avoiding reality. this is creating a new reality. one that is another step towards the liberation of pakistani women from the chains of a primitive culture. a reality that pakistani men have to deal with.
PS: Meera goes to bollywood. Fauzia goes to UK. Paki-boys are left with one another and the chicken next door. ha! ha!

Govt was more than soft on him, I don`t think he should have been killed though.
There are other ways of dealing with such people and proving your point.
This only adds to the image of Sikhs being lawless.

Re # 159
``When Gandhi started going on about Ram Raj some Muslims started worrying about the Hindus too.``
What was about Ram Raj that caused Muslims to worry? The name or the concept or both?
If it was name, suppose Gandhiji had called it, ``Ideal Raj`` or ``Khilafat Raj`` or ``Allah Raj`` or ``Buddha Raj`` would Muslims have started worrying also?
If it is the concept, what part of that concept caused Muslims to worry?
Did Muslim reason or request or warn Gandhiji to stop calling it Ram Raj stating their concerns or their was no turning back the moment Gandhiji uttered those words, ``Ram Raj``?

Very Very frank & informative discussion here. How come that there is no input from Panjabi-Hindus on this matter. Do they distance themselves from a ``panjab`` holocaust where Sikhs are concerned?
Or is it that only muslim Panjabis and Sikh Panjabis mortgage their brains and become very vocal in discussing such matters in public. Does the DNA (brain) change when one converts from hiduism? Dr lokraj?
Is all enterprise and free-speech supposed to be exercised & exhausted by hindians when only Islam, Pakistan, muslims or sikhs are to be `disussed`?
bong-dongs:
I would compare it to the ``occupation`` of Kaaba by some misguided muslim-zealots in the 80`s. The only difference is that the government was also muslim. Hence it died down.
You saw the reaction of the muslim Ummah on that gitmo news-item. It changes everything when the attacker is of another faith (even secular--nothing would convince people of faith of such `do-gooders` intentions--and I solidly support such fundamentalists).
Indira Gandhi & her family has now entered the rogues gallery in the sikh `pantheon` and I won`t be surprised if keertan`s & shubds about her atrocities won`t be recited against her in future.
Maybe they already do!

People listen to this:
Few years ago there was a UN convention celeberating some kind of Religous Parliament in Chicago. BJP govt was ruling then.
Nirankari baba(or someone on his line) was chosen as someone to represent Sikhs, when lot of ``Rolla was Paoed``, akal Takhats Jathedar was also added to represent Sikhs in the offical capacity.
Nirankaris are not even a fraction of Sikhs and yet they show up on these important world congregations. If Govt is not supporting these instiutions who is????
You can compare it to Ahmediya Baba representing Islam at World Religion conference.
Not that there is anything wrong in having different religions, but my Wangar is for those systematically poisonig one Religion.
25 Million Sikhs in the world, more than Jews, 4th largest religion in the world(after Christianity, Islam, Hindu and Budhists) and nobody knows a jack about Sikhs in the world
because they had Nirankari baba in all the TV-media and newspapers as Sikhs.
If I am not mistaken it was Ranjit Singh or Vedanti who was also present. This Jathedar has to literally scream at press reporters to gain attention, because offical nominee was getting all the attention.
Mainu Yaad A Gaye
Boota Singh, Binod Singh, Bidhichand tae Bhai Rangrete di.
