#85 Kaura ``IF Punjabi jatts were such heroes, why did they become sulas? (pls don`t tell me Islam is appealing). ``
What a dumb phuddee dha you are! Your Mughal and Afghan chachay, you know the ones who ruled the subcontinent for 800 years also became sullay under the Arabs. What does that prove?
``Who told you that Punabi Rajpoots are ``99%`` muslim? - another ex- of exaggeration and phukrapanti? ``
All the majoir and minor Punjabi Rajput clans are Muslims by a very large majority, you dumb fcuk. Janjuas and Minhas of Potohar. Lalika and Joya of the trans sutlej region, Bhattis, Parihars of central Punjab, the Manj of Malwa, the Warrian of jullandar - the whole freaken lot of them. You don`t know a lot about Punjabi do you?

Here is what you yourself wrote in the Amrita Pritam article ``Millions of Jats, Rajputs, Brahmins were converted by force. They didn`t have any reason to convert since they ruled the roost unlike Dalits.``
Ruled the roost. Exactly my point.

``What is your source for claiming that Panjabi Jatts are racially/ethnically different from those of neighbouring states of Haryana and West U.P? ``
There are no Jatts in Haryana and West UP. Those are Jaats who speak a different laguage, have a different culture and identity and have a totally different social standing to Punjabi Jatts. This is not me talking, it`s what they say themselves say. Check out their website www.jatland.com where very few Jatts, sikh or muslim, are allowed to post.

DM,
He is bewakoof talking out of his rear. They have common ancestors. In Punjab, race or group does NOT matter. With all the intermarriages, gene pool exchange thru peaceful or invasions, one can rarely distinguish between different groups.
Most marriages in our large family are out of social group/caste/gotra etc. My brother is married into Jat. My Bhua is married to a Jat. Some are married to Bhapas. Others are married to Khatris. This has happened for at least 3 generations that I know of.
I don`t want to give my last name out. But, it was a common name and many Punjabi kings had it.
What will you call their offsprings?

Jats have served more or less as human capital and cannon fodder historically for Rajputs, Mughals, British, etc. Yes they have classified themselves as Backward Class.
Thye have fought time and again with bravery against foreigners. But there has been nothing spectacular about their history, at least not upto the far fetched exaggerations they weave everyday.
They fought bravely against Ghazni, yet lost. Bharatpur Jats put up a good fight against British. They more or less looted Mughal landholdings when the empire was dying.
They came to power in Punjab only as sikhs and only at the cunning of Ranjit Singh - his generals were all non Jats.
This happened only after other non Jat leaders like Jassa Singhs, Banda Bahadur laid good foundations.
If they were such great, WHY they NEVER ruled in their homeland PUNJAB till sikhism spread? WHY were they always slaves to foreigners or in service of Rajputs?

hindvi #80 ``u are right people often make the mistake of confusing jatt with jaat.``
Yes, they do, Hindvi. But Kaura didn`t make that mistake. He knows full well that there is a huge difference between Jatts of Punjab and Jaats of Haryana etc. He knows that they are two entirely different communites with hardly anything in common with each other. But it serves his purposes of his bruised Tarkhan/Kalal ego.
BTW, your description of Ghalib as precursor of the existentialists was spot on. Maybe something is lost in the translation, but Ghalib`s art seems much superior to that of Sartre and the other French extistenialists.

Punjabi Jutts didn`t fall from the sky..........they are cousins of these Haryanvi/UP Jats.
There is no difference......what has lingo/culture etc. to do with race. People migrated a lot without hindrance back then.
The reason Punjabi JUtts are different is because of different historical episodes.
Slavs are spread over different eastern european countries, speak different lingos, have different customs, yet they are all slavs.
Another ex- is gypsies, who span different continents, yet have same lineages, blood lines, and descended from common ancestors.
Idiots.

``I thought Taamsik-Saatvik concept is only applicable for Vaishnavs. Aren`t Bengalis and Punjabis Shakts (Shakti-poojak)?`
Hindu religion always confounds-fascinates me. I do believe that Panjabi Hindus were shaivites, most of the older temples are devoted to Maata. But there is a twist. As you are probably aware, the Panjabi incarnation of Shakti is called Vaishno Devi. When you visit her temple, you are supposed to not eat even onions on your way there. Panjab is littered with the so-called vaishno dhabas and restaurants which is a code word for vegetarian food only.
I suspect that the Vaishnav bhakti movement blurred the lines between Shaivites and Vaishnavites in North India. Modern Panjabi Hindu temples are almost all dedicated to Ram, Krishna and Hanuman. Even in Bengal, Jai Dev`s poetry made Krishna bhakti the most popular religion. As you know, Hare Krishna movement was started by a Bengali.
kaurasach has already explained amrit-dharis to you.
kaurasach:
I think that Jatts/Jats are among the smartest people. Whatever their caste origin, they have been successful in getting themselves classified as OBCs for reservation purposes. In Canada, of the seven MPs of Indian background, at least five are Jatts, maybe six if Dhalla is a Jatt name.
Now, if they could only stop fighting among themselves.....

85,
i can`t argue with an idiot, - you have contradicted yourself and showed your ignorance.
IF Punjabi jatts were such heroes, why did they become sulas? (pls don`t tell me Islam is appealing).
Who told you that Punabi Rajpoots are ``99%`` muslim? - another ex- of exaggeration and phukrapanti?
``Only landlords in Punjab were ......... another example of sheer ignorance and stupidity.
The ``kasba`` part of my family hails from is ALL NON-jat. They own all the land several hundered acres......jats, and others till their lands.
You are a fool making such ridiculous statements.

u are right people often make the mistake of confusing jatt with jaat. though one must add that at the eastern edges of punjab/Haryana there is some mixture, even in rajasthan and to some extent even in western UP. but in these areas as well as in southern up and northern madya pradesh it is the jaats that are more numerous.

What a totally predictable response. The sources you refer to are about Jats (more correctly `Jaats`) of Haryana, Rajasthan etc not Jatts of Punjab. Punjabi Jatts speak a different language, have different homeland, have a different culture and a very different social standing to Hindu Jaats. Don`t you get tired of flogging this dead horse? Or is it your low self esteem that drives you to do this?
``Neither am I a tarkhan nor anyone else (it matters nothing to me). My forefathers were landlords and farmers. ``
Bullshit. Only landlords in Punjab were Jatt Chaudhrys, Rajputs and Awans. Punjabi Rajputs are 99% Muslim and Awans are 100% Muslim. If you are not a Jatt the only way you can belong to a landlord family is by being a Sulla. lol
You still haven`t addressed my point. How did West Punjabi Jatt sardars, who are all Muslims, acquire their wealth and power?

I`ve jat relatives who are phukras of the lowest order. ALL day, every meet, ``Aseen Jutt hunnay aan``. They are the biggest cowards I`ve ever known. Miser than Baniyas.
Rowdy, and hard drinkers YES. They equate ``Bravery`` with rowdiness. At a Bollywood concert, they wouldn`t stop their ``bravery`` - got kicked out. With their bruised egos, all they could yell outside from a safe distance was ``Aseen Jutt Hunay Aan``......``fit kar diyaan gay``. - Khaali Peepay....he he he......

``............Whatever be the later-day notions about the superiority of the Jat “quom”, Jats were stigmatised by the higher castes. The Brahmins treated the Jats as Shudras and denied them the right to wear the sacred thread. The Jats were largely free from the Brahminical orthodoxy and caste rigidity...............``
READ YOURSELF. I assume you can GOOGLE
It is my mission to let the hot air out of EVERY PHUKRA - INCLUDING JATS .
``...............Conjectures and surmises to prop up preconceived notions constitute this brand of history. As a consequence, there is a lot of myth making in the name of Jat history. Some make hilarious reading. For instance, a theory has been propounded in all seriousness that the Jats are ancient rulers who once held sway all over the world and their descendants are found in all important races and the communities even today.

Neither am I a tarkhan nor anyone else (it matters nothing to me). My forefathers were landlords and farmers.
I am going to say this as many times as these PHukras and empty balloons are knocked off their imaginary horses.
here are a few quotes from past historical and reputed sources....
``......During the troubled times that followed the breakup of the Gupta Empire, many foreign races such as the Huns, the Gurjaras, etc. settled in the Punjab and Rajputana and became Hinduised in course of time. The upper ranks of these foreigners, whose main occupation was war, came to be known as Rajputs, while the humbler folks ranked low in social status and developed into inferior castes such as Gurjaras, Jats and others. As we have already seen .......``

You`ve told this about...ummm....a million times now. Do you have some kind of inferiority complex to Jatts or something? You`re not somekind of Tarkhan or a Kalal low-caste riff-raff with serious self-esteem issues are you? j/k
If Sikhism elevated the status of Jatts from where and how did Chaudhry Anwar Ghumman, Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar, Nawab Amanullah Khan Sial, Chaudhry Hammad Nasir Chattha and MANY other Jatt Sardars in West Punjab get their 10s of thousands of acres? Was it a gift from the Khalsa. I doubt it somehow.

Kashmiri Pandits do eat a lot of meat. There are some who abstain.
Amritdhari is one who has taken amrit. They do not eat meat, or take intoxicants.....some of them think marijuana, bhang. etc. are NOT intoxicants. They are supposed also to cook in iron utensils....not necessarily in compliance with sikh teachings and tennets.
