So, where is the Disagreement exactly in this debate and what you guys are trying to prove for last 200 posts? that Incest is something Bad?

true nt brought religion...i have argued earlier ...and as others have reciprocated...he is irrelevant to this debate...
if you want to beat his religion over his head...do so on another board...because it is diversionary and counter productive ...so i feel..baaqi aap ki marzi

again, what we are trying to avoid here is to make this a religion vs. secular issue, or a hindu vs. christian vs. muslim issue, or a pakistan vs. india issue. this is a universal occurrence. countries deal with it differently within their frameworks. . .
raw dust: nt is not dealing with the topic as much as he is proselytizing. some of us are aware of your disgust , for lack of a less harsher term, for organized religion, don`t let that get you too far away from here. :)

one more thing temporal sir:
I
nstead of going meta on ppl`s arguments, we should better focus on argument itself. Quran is being brought up Quran will get the whacking if someone would bring Gita or Bible or US constitution instead, the ``direction`` will go that way. Plz quit this we-muslims-are-being-singled-out-by-you-islamophobe argument. Hardly an argument and thoroughly unamusing.
regards.

Nobody is discussing it from the Muslim point of view. Ntsyed is mostly off topic and I think you are spinning the issue to find a way to abuse religion. Value system is part of this discussion and when people talk about religion, they are talking about ALL religions and not Islam alone.
I don’t know how many posters here are Muslims but there is pattern here on this site that most of the Indian avoid discussing social issues in general.
Their only interest is in Pakistan and Islam and you appear to follow their lead perfectly.
Incest, child molestation is not a Pakistani issue at all, it happens in India too.

Well, that was the last straw. First Ntsyed sahib’s desultory musings and now this. It’s official, democracy has run amuck at Chowk. Let me go play Shrek. At least until I recover from this uncanny display of intelligence.
But first a little housekeeping:
Ana:
More power to your pen
HP:
Hats off to you for keeping an open mind and taking the initiative
Temp:
Good point re universal occurrence. Can`t restrict it to muslims or even believers. Leaves too many people out. Remember mantra: It`s about inclusion not exclusion. Heretic ideas I know.

with all due respect this discussion has always had a framework to hang on to. but the material that HP has provided, and that i provided more than several posts ago adds to the framework. :)

Because, the Spinners of incest issue here are referring to Quran and i think ALL of them are Muslims. Do you see a pattern at all??
is there any non-muslim here on this board who is spinning this issue? Noone else is tryinna invent the wheel or trying to prove 2 + 2 = 4 except Muslims.
Absurd and pathetic.

Rawdust:
why i feel this is clouding the issue?
incest...or other abusal of under-age ... boys or girls by their guardians or teachers or senious in position of authority are the main focus of this thread...
this is a universal occurence...
why divert it to muslims only?

temporal sahib:
i think it is very Much relevant to this discussion. I am saying nothing new - just putting this much needed input on Quran`s Value for many here.
Justifying Ayesha`s making out with Safwan or saying she didnt make out on the basis of this Quran guy wont work. Nor marrying your bahu or marrying a kid just so Quran says will work.
Wallah o Alam Bis Sawab indeed.

Thank you HP for the detailed analysis with a few figures...now the discussion has a framework to hang on to. When you say
Family facts of the abused
68% were living in nuclear families
16% in semi-joint families (nuclear and grandparents)
15% in extended (joint) family systems
you have given an interesting picture. And the sources your later quote, makes interesting reading. Thank you for these.
