while your essay dexterously highlights the cultural cohesion imbued through food, i would like to add my two pence: an identity crisis brews with the fadish ``cosmo`` girl`` look where most teenagers, women, and even desperate housewives, teri hatcher or not, desperately want to fit into those ultra teenie-weenie skirts. these glossy artsy superficial image-craving maidens get dissilusioned by food and go on these atkins diets which if sustained for a long time can cause irreperable damage.

though you are right food is seen as a cultural identity marker and uniter, by the same token it is also a bastion of venom which denies ``the cosmo`` puppet her genuine meal where a calorie and taste-free dish awaits her. the essence of enjoying a meal is lost. and so to are the cultural connotations accompanying it.
