Blugaze dude, I`m sure you are lucky enough not to have heard these songs. Becaue if you live in Paakistan, then one can just not escape most of these numbers. Each oneof them are played again and again across out TV channels and FM radios. But I disagree with NFP on a couple, but I do agree with him on most, especially Atif, Najam and Salman and that creep, Deeno.

Amazing how you (NFP) have devoted so much time and energy to these songs that you think are so terrible. While i do agree that most of these songs are bad, half of them i have not even ever heard, it would be nice for you to come down from your starry pedestal and be more humble. Who sponsors you anyway?

Ah, but the last I heard both Pakistani and Indian pop music was really doing great in the public baths of Rwanda. And if it hadn`t been for the mid-90s genicide there, who knows, Euphoria and Atif could have actually made it across most McDonalds joints in the lovely capital of Barundi? But I guess this is good enough. And now watch out for some sizzling Zulu voodoo music about to make its way in Inda and Pakistan`s colleges and schools. Move over Adnan Sami Khan ...

The venom pours and kills with purpose. Mean in many places but done in vintage Paracha style. ``Mishi is pounding across the desserts outside Dubai doing what seems like a Mama Cass take on the bhangra!`` Cut me up.

Vagabond...
I have it on authority that the most popular song in Delhi`s colleges these days is Aadat by Atif who by the way has been paid a shi-tload of money to playback sing in bollywood... in several upcoming movies... Najam Sheraz`s song has been a super duper hit.
Btw... have you forgotten Nazia, Zoheb, Adnan Sami and Hassan Jahangir ... who in the past took your country by storm. You should look a little deeper... Pakistan pop music always has been around and has done really well... If you haven`t heard fuzon, jal or even Mekaal Hassan Band... then you will be hearing from them soon..

Manto,
I listened to a few songs of Junoon and Strings but never heard of the other bands you mentioned. Even with such limited exposire I can say that Paki pop music is good. But to say that Paki pop has taken over Indian college scene and have Bollywood moviemakers begging is way way over the top. At best they are at the college main gate waiting to be let in. When it comes to my alma mater, Paki pop is not even in the town yet. This is a top college with annual festival budget of over Rs 2m which usually climaxes with an evening of live performance from Indian Rock bands like Euphoria, Parikrama, Shiva, Indian Ocean, Moksha-a band featured on an Iron Maiden album, no mean feat.
But I wont blame you if you`re only exposed to ``shameless`` remixes, afterall pop`s only what`s popular.
Cheers

LOL!!! Had fun reading this...
I cant say I know all the songs on this list or even all the artists but I agree with the ones I know except Rangeen, which was pretty fun listening material. But why is everybody mad at Salman Ahmed? He`s not the best thing that happened to music, granted, but he isnt as bad as all that... is he?

i`m glad that Lady Magic is listed here, because that truly is an awful song. . . but what about that other english song that`s on ``talaash``? i think those two should have had the same slot.
and no zoheb? i guess the lyrics made up for the fact that he really couldn`t sing. but then, i was going to say this is the ten worst, but no. . it`s the twenty worst!!! khair. . . entertaining nevertheless.
regard(s) :)

After a long time I am seeing NFP slaughter people like this. This is how he made his name in the first place. But why Strings Soniay? C`mon, NFP, it`s not that bad.
*Nadia
Sometimes a big hit can make it to a worst list. I don`t agree fully with this list but hey NFP when in this mood is always a roaring read.

Blasted, this was great. fasi zaka of on the fringe was right. You like lerter bangs can be a huge promoter of music as well as trash its bad parts with vicious ease. This one`s a class of its own. Must now get hold of that Mishi khan song.

I don`t think `Sun re` is that bad to be worst. It produces a mild pensive trance for short moment of its duration. It seems a low budgeted effort of a good emerging vocalist.
And his previous video: ``janey kia hai teri ankho mai.n`` was also very stirring which didn`t get much appreciation.
and yeh yeh mamla by najam shiraz is a pathetic attempt of to concentrate a hamd with dual meanings,
And Janab you are not following the timeline..Bo Kata was drilling in Basants all over Pakistan after its release even Fariha didn`t appear attempted in video than song 4-5 years ago. It was hit among teenagers and Guddi Baz at hot level. Fariha can be regarded pioneer of bringing pop-patang baz song. After her Fakhr and other got induldged:
Guddi bhi larani hai tay ankh wi milani hai...

NFP...
Hillarious... disagree on Ali Zafar`s Rangeen though... thats a very hip number.
Cayenne,
Pakistan`s pop music industry is widely recognised ... and much better than its Indian counterpart which is a shameless remix industry... Why is it that now Indian College scene has been taken over by Jal, Atif, Junoon, Ali Zafar Hadiqa, Fuzon and Strings? Strings even featured in the Spiderman 2 Soundtrack... recently. I wonder why now Indian movie producers are begging these musicians to sing for Indian movie industry.
You need to get a life and learn to give credit where its due.
