We don`t believe in any such country or nation called ``India`` so the issue of ``dividing`` it simply doesn`t arise.

I am a Punjabi. My race is Punjabi, my languate is Punjabi, my heritage is Punjabi, my culture and land are Punjabi. I don`t look West towards any Islamic Ummah and I don`t look East towards any Hindu Ummah. Punjab is the whole of my identity.

Also in a federal polity involving India and Pakistan Punjab is bound to be united. Of course you don`t want that. In a reasonable settlement even endorsed by the Qaed e Azam provinces would have had their identity. I hope I am not irritating you again.

I feel that the subcontinent was divided on the basis of a theory of ``Nationalism`` given by somebody in the West. They also gave a communal view of our own history. And lo and behold we gulped it! Not only that we allowed ourselves to be vivisected on the basis of those notions. Our forefathers obviously coudn`t stand each other at times. But they were slaves in the hands of the times they were living in. Now the least we can do is not fight. There are no direct imperialist forces making us fight anymore. This is the responsibility of our generation to stop violence and move on. But violence starts in the minds. On this count some of chowkies really are disturbing. I hope I am overreacting. I remember Jug Suraiya`s article in Times of India wherein he says in his inimitable style that its better to swear than to kill. He quoted Freud to the effect that the first man who instead of huling a stone at the adversary swore at him was the inventor of civilization. I even feel like laughing at some of the remarks here. There is a bit of catharsis on display here.

southasian Not long ago you were talking about ``one nation`` and ``siamese twins`` but now you say you just want an economic zone. Why are you so keen on an economic zone with Pakistan in it? Why can`t you have one without Pakistan in it? Will it leave a great big gaping hole your in life?

Yaar, Pakis get paranoid at the very mention of inclusivism. For them this means Indians are itching to turn the Akhand Bharat theory into a reality. Notwithstanding your noble intentions, I think Indians and Pakis are just fine the way they are. We`ve had the upper hand for so long, it`s not even funny anymore. Pakis are forever trying to catch up or as they call it, ``restore parity``. In everything that they do or seek to do, they see India as the benchmark. But they won`t dare admit it, for it`s demeaning for them to be seen trying to catch up with the dark (just take a look at #509, and this isn`t the only Paki who thinks so) and inferior Hindoos. Your suggestions look like you`re trying to bail them out from the hole they`ve dug for themselves. Just let them be.
