Dear T-Bhai:
Aapkee khidmat mein phir se pesh hai!
Top ten reasons to (de)bait a poet
10. They won`t know when a subject is just useless.
9. They won`t know when the rival is nothing but stress.
8. They won`t know a thing on how not to show.
7. They won`t know the places – never, never to go.
6. They won`t know the lots of “bus..” and “hush!”.
5. They won`t know the lot that is clamoring to rush.
4. They won`t know a cat if it hit them on shin.
3. They won`t know a cat if it bit them on chin.
2. They won`t know a cat with nine hundred mice in “payte”.
1. They won`t know a cat if it made THEM a bait.

I am really disappointed in your post to Dost Sahib
“this multi nick is not the first one here to abuse women interactors…others in the past have indulged in those sort of reprehensible activities hiding behind the safety of cyber anonymity”
I have been an infrequent visitor for over a year now but what you wrote shows the culture of this site. This is really disappointing that chowk staff completely failed to check this common behavior and this problem still continues.
Your expectation that people show restrains is wishful thinking. People don’t come here for some idealism or meet some goals or promote some relationships. People come to the site to learn a little about Pakistanis or Indians. They are not idealistic. Internet chatrooms are not for some serious business.
Discussion boards need monitoring and strict enforcement of some ethics and guidelines. Posters have no interest in this not on this but on all sites. People post whatever they want; it is the moderator’s responsibility to maintain the guidelines strictly.
In chowk’s case, Staff/moderators have failed and it is apparent from your post that they allowed this behavior to continue due to their lax moderating.
Sorry, but the chowk staff will have to clean up their act. But, as you said it is their site and if that is how they want to run it then who am I to object?
Thanks.

Re: # 215
lifes too short Temporal. You need to take it as it comes you win some and then you lose some.
Credibility should never be an issue on a site which is anonymous - by credibility I mean an individuals credentials. Here he or she stands by their writings. Here, Hamidm2 is just of the mark when he suggests that credibilityis attained only when some one can vouch for the exisistence of the individual as a real life person. If you want to do that the you need a mechanism which is not really a free for all, and have an authetication system which is foolproof. This would be similar to what you have with clubs, where blackballing is the order of the day. Then the charm of chowk disappears down the plug hole.
People take Chowk way too seriously IMHO.

Hamid
“ talking about credibility, in my book [these] people have credibilty because other people have met them and verified that, good, bad or indifferent, they exist and are more or less what they appear to be .”
So “meeting” a live person “good, bad or indifferent” constitutes “credibility”? You`ve got to be joking me! You mean to tell me that if you met Al Sharpton he’ll have more credibility than Ed Said whom you haven’t met? Or just the fact that you met Al he’s now “credible”?
C’mon, Hamid, you know better than that! If I didn’t know you any better and had not respected you, you would’ve lost all credibility in my eyes (and I haven’t even met you!)

Mr. Temporal:
Your message was anticlimactic. The damage has been done. Sorry. I never meant any harm, but you have disappointed many today, and I don¡¦t mean by your silly article. When your opponent turns out to be the referee, it¡¦s time to get out of the ring. ƒº
Take care. You won¡¦t have to ban me anymore. And please don¡¦t ever mention credibility. Yahan ke chor heN Chowkidar.

(long post: sorry for this dealy)
Dost sahib #69:
The author too has, in some ways, contributed to this by bringing the credibility issue of an interactor.
am guilty as charged…but with this caveat…i was doing this with tahmed on THIS on the unplugged not here
...over the years one part of my record on chowk is open for public scrutiny…this multi-nick delusional psycho is the only one i have consistently singled out for his tactics to pick up fights with ladies…scout, succubus, huma mir, sobia, saminasha and others…do you see a pattern?…he initiates the fights and then whines, cries and vainly shifts the blame …also apparent …when men challenge he disappears fast…both kinds those who can sink low to his level ( e.g. atif2)….and those who stay above the fray (e.g. khamkhwa)
somebody has to expose him and his tactics…it is time we (men mainly) start standing up for blatant abuse of women at the least…you are right…this multi nick is not the first one here to abuse women interactors…others in the past have indulged in those sort of reprehensible activities hiding behind the safety of cyber anonymity (digression: even dr. sridhar’s use of “bitch” for another writer here should be condemned…has anyone of us done that yet? maybe someone did or maybe he retracted .. i have not visited that board for sometime...)…there were other women before sadna who just could not hack this and left…sadna, zahraj, saminasha, scout etc. are the fiery kind of new urbane educated no-nonsense women who have shown they can not only stand up to these delusional psycho misfits but can also go the distance toe to toe, deliver the knock out punch and brook no non-sense….more power to them…
fortunately or unfortunately i decided to step in and expose this con man for the charlaton he is…a bi-polar self deluding delusional psychotic poor excuse for a man…nay that would be insulting men…poor excuse for a (lesser) life form…and it has come to a point where the mere mention of credibility turns him into a mexican jumping bean…all those outlandish lies and statement he has made in the past have come home to roost…
and in more sense than one it is gratifying that this jehad is paying up…not only more and more folks are noticing the tactics of such dastardly men (and others: we are known by the company we keep))…they are rallying around us against this sort of cyber lynching
this story was written to channel discussions in another direction…but these threads have a life of their own
i understand how difficult it was for you to jump in here…appreciate that with thanks

urstruly,
...........so you admit `` everything is fine and dandy on this side of the Atlantic`` ?........ see, it wasn`t that difficult to admit the truth .......... as for the ``news article`` which `` reffered to an event that happened in England`` , are you sure it is true and not the product of a paranoid muslim`s fertile imagination ? ......... next time be careful - your credibility is at stake .......
......... talking about credibility, in my book people like dost-mittar, ferozk, manto, rozaiba, temporal, nazar h khan, stuka and others have credibilty because other people have met them and verified that, good, bad or indifferent, they exist and are more or less what they appear to be .......... i am sure all others are honorable folks too ...............

Re: # 205
“what a storm in a tea cup over one story...why???”
It is not this story, which is a sorry excuse of “writing.” It is the emperor exposed holding his talent in his hand. The facade has been blown away by Katrina. A lot of people are watching and undoubtedly enjoying this show. The posts are far superior to the story. The higher the hits the better it is.
Why? If you knew his sanctimonious attitude and pettiness he so often displays, you’d understand why.

I guess everything is fine and dandy on this side of the Atlantic. The news article reffered to an event that happened in England and BBC presented it in a TV documentary form.
I think what we all should do is dhaniya pee kar sau jaiN.

Stuka #205, {``Salim Chauhan: word of advice...do the right thing and walk away from confrontation on this thread now. ``}
Stuka dost,
Thanks for the advice. Received, understood, and appreciated.
Somehow, the fight`s gone out of me. I am very very sad.
Mr. Temporal,
I apologize for any inconvenience that I may have caused you in my attempt at being humorous. I am really very disappointed as you can see in my post #206. I no longer feel enthusiastic about interacting on Chowk. And my motto is ``When it stops being fun, it`s time to move on...``
Thanks,
Please, kaha suna maaf.
Sincerely,
Salim

Mr. Temporal,
In all seriousness, sir, I find your responses to Mr. Soulat revealing and, frankly, very disturbing. I appreciate your candor, but I share Mr. Soulat`s concern about the ethics involved. I have suspected all along that there was some ``inside track`` that allowed Saminasha, Scout, JG, Khamkhwa, Sobia, and a few others to get away with language that others have paid for with their ``lives.``
It is highly unfair for you to be partial in the on-going feuds, considering your own privileged status at Chowk.
Mr. Temporal, I am sad and very disappointed at this revelation from you. I have been around Chowk for over a year and this is the first time I have learned about your association with Chowk operations. All my suspicions have come true. All my concerns about justice, fairness, and even-handedness were justified.
I am not happy to have been proven right about this. No wonder, we Pakistanis don`t have any credibility when it comes to individual rights, common freedoms such as expression, religion, assembly, etc.
If you don`t see the ethics problem, then I can`t help you.
Shame on you and on the Junoons of Chowk for allowing this gross violation of your interactors` trust.
