A lot has been speculated and said here which requires a response. First and foremost, Temporal is not part of monitoring and filtering interacts on Chowk therefore he has no conflict of interest and is free to post his independent opinions on Chowk.

Secondly, we will be introducing new ways to address the issue of managing the interact space on Chowk and will expect all members to participate in maintaining the openness of interactions here.

Chowk-Staff: Your brief appearance was neither convincing nor appealing. Probably, you should introduce a mechansim to reduce the current and future speculations :) The simplest resolution to this issue will be to offer Saleem a role in moderating the posts/interacts on Chowk. Point to ponder.

…i realise that it is too much to hope that all of us become the best of buddies…but at least we can display the maturity, grace, strength and tolerance to put this behind and enhance the pleasure of visiting chowk by maintaining civility and cordiality all around...

......... of course you are on the list, as are many others ....... to be honest, i didn`t pay too much attention to what was happening on this thread since i was busy stalking urstruly ! ............ i also don`t pay a lot of attention to the multi-nicks until somone points it out because as they say ``meray baap ka kiya jaata hai``......... but sometimes it is too blatant to ignore because then i feel that my already rather inadequate intelligence is being insulted .......... i simply don`t understand the need to hide behind a new nick - it ruins your credibility (the c word again !) ............... personally i was ticked off when i had to add a 2 to my name when the chowk people made the change ........... i still stand behind everything i said as hamidm ..........

I have been an infrequent visitor for over a year now but what you wrote shows the culture of this site. This is really disappointing that chowk staff completely failed to check this common behavior and this problem still continues.

Your expectation that people show restrains is wishful thinking. People don’t come here for some idealism or meet some goals or promote some relationships. People come to the site to learn a little about Pakistanis or Indians. They are not idealistic. Internet chatrooms are not for some serious business.

Discussion boards need monitoring and strict enforcement of some ethics and guidelines. Posters have no interest in this not on this but on all sites. People post whatever they want; it is the moderator’s responsibility to maintain the guidelines strictly.

In chowk’s case, Staff/moderators have failed and it is apparent from your post that they allowed this behavior to continue due to their lax moderating.

Sorry, but the chowk staff will have to clean up their act. But, as you said it is their site and if that is how they want to run it then who am I to object?
