Here is eye witness account
Mark Whitby said: ``I was sitting on the train... I heard a load of noise, people saying, `Get out, get down`.
``I saw an Asian guy. He ran on to the train, he was hotly pursued by three plain clothes officers, one of them was wielding a black handgun.
``He half tripped... they pushed him to the floor and basically unloaded five shots into him,`` he told BBC News 24.
``As [the suspect] got onto the train I looked at his face, he looked sort of left and right, but he basically looked like a cornered rabbit, a cornered fox.
``He looked absolutely petrified and then he sort of tripped, but they were hotly pursuing him, [they] couldn`t have been any more than two or three feet behind him at this time and he half tripped and was half pushed to the floor and the policeman nearest to me had the black automatic pistol in his left hand.
``He held it down to the guy and unloaded five shots into him

Shoot him in the leg,or somewhere to paralyse, not in the chest as he could be wearing an explosive jacket which when shot might explode , to take a terrorist Prisnor, That I think is supposed to be the standard procedure., and Capturing a Terrorist Alive would have been more beneficial , especially When they had the Chance.
Eye Witness told, He tripped and fell, then two of the police men held him to the ground and the third .... Shot Five shots. close range to Kill HIM.
you can search the story on CNN`s or BBC`s website...
for the EyeWitness`s account...

In order to ease the tension on this board, Chowk Admin should request Mr. Bhatnagar to consolidate his views in one paragraph and resubmit. This article should not sit on Chowk`s front page. It`s silly.

Now, this in unfair. Obviously, your previous post alluded to the focus on Chowk. You are switching gears now.

So what precisely should the London police do, the next time a similar situation develops in a crowded area?

The Other day.... Police in UK Killed a Man, while on Hot persuit , considering Him
as a terrorist.
Eye wittnesses told , three police men chased Him , He tripped over, they over powered Him, and one of the police man , Shot him 5 Times, and he was killed.
Today it was confirmed , he was a Brazzilian named Jean Charles de Menezes , and the chief of Police , though regretted the incidence, yet said `` some body else could be shot ``
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4712061.stm
1- Why didn`t they captured Him , why kill, when obviously he was overpowered, as he tripped over and fell.....??
2- With statements Like `` some body else could be shot ``..... How secure any one feel..?

Democracy is not an issue at all.
Don`t dance around the issue...Islamism is the cause of the terrorism in London..or this concept of ummah..
pakis whine about why the IRA aren`t called catholic terrorists.. here`s why..If a catholic spaniard or a catholic brazilian bombed a London subway to protest protestant britain`s treatment of the irish, that would be catholic terrorism..The fact that the IRA terrorists are catholics doesn`t make it catholic terrorism.. If a punjabi hindu from India blew himself up in New York to protest US support to the Sri Lankan government, that would be hindu terrorism...same thing if a paki christian blew himself up in Lahore to protest Pakiland`s support to the murderous Sudanese regime...
If the London bombers were Iraqi or Afghan immigrants, you could, perhaps, make the case that the bombing had nothing to do with Islam..The fact is: The bombers were born and brought up in Britain, they had access to a lot of opportunities that billions of people around the world can only dream off..and yet they were ``unhappy``..why? Because their religion tells them to take up the cause of muslims they see as being oppressed in other countries...
During the cold war, the US and the UK governments supported the murderous regime of Saddam that killd hundreds of thousands of muslims Iraqis...How many brit-pakis planned suicide bombings then? ZILCH....
It`s clear that muslims living in the west will remain disenfranchised as long as they don`t get their way in every issue on the Islamist agenda..they could drive a benz and attent LSE but they`ll be persecuted as long as US forces are in Iraq and AFghanistan, India controls Indian Kashmir, the Israelis control PAlestine etc etc..

Kamath..wearing a turban and beard is even more dangerous. Some freakin` redneck might then confuse me for an arabic sandnigger supporter of bin Laden...and shoot me dead anyway ;)

Sifjal , you are another example of a typical Pakistani idiot living in cuckoo land...The West is not talking about India or India`s actions in Kashmir (after all , 80,000 people killed in Kashmir by Indian Army you say - how many of them were Americans or British ..hahahaha)....what the West is concerned about is fanatic suicide bombers and other assorted terrorists from Pakistan. The West is deeply worried about people who hate our way of life - democracy and freedom , equality and secularism..the Islamic extremists.
Indians love the west. And these days the west loves India. Indians can go on happily killling your `innocent` Kashmiri muslims and raping your beautiful Kashmiri muslimah sisters (over 100,000 over the last 15 years)...and the west couldn`t care less....;)

Irony is that the focus does shift.
Focus on chowk maybe. Focus of the real world, I`m afraid not...

``..What Indians worry about is whether they can get shot or bashed for looking like Pakis or mistaken for muslims..... ``
Why don`t you wear a turban and sport a beard like a good old Sardarji? Then no one will mistake you for a Pakistani Muslim. Is it not a good idea?

Re: # 98 Kalchakra: Actually they don`t consider themselves to be a part of their adopted country. A Briton of Pakistani origin is actually a Pakistani. He does not identify with Britain. He identifies with Pakistan. His participation in British elections does not make a difference to the outcome. Whereas backhome there is no democracy. So virtually this guy is disenfranchised. He is powerless to affect any change of policy. Indian Muslim makes sure by his voting behaviour that BJP does not win. He feels empowered. Islam is the same for both. Of course the issue cannot be that simple and unidimensional.

It is said if you have nothing good to say better remain silent. Further there are some manners, if you violate, even the right thing said looks unacceptable. The article invited criticism by it very nature. The reason is simple the article is written in a manner as the person is bonafied state policing in0charge. It becomes even more critical (or worse) for it is coming from the person who apparently belongs to a country which itself has huge man slaughtering history. In the recent past, Indian government itself admits killings of over 80,000 kashmiries in violence since last decade or so apart from regular anti-Muslim and irregular Anti-Christians drive in other states.
The media has also created a very negative image about Hindus, and reading CHOWK, it is only being seconded.
I personally think that the writers on CHOWK should become more responsible and chose words carefully, after all that is an important aspect of education to say things carefully.
Even though I am personally against fanatics claiming to be Muslims’ killing innocents, I am proud to be Pakistani origin and on top of it a Muslim. And I feel so happy when I see Muslim girls observing hijab gracefully in the West to highlight their identity and men proudly appearing in Muslim attire. We are not concerned with what world media says about us out of either total ignorance or malign, for whatever they say about sun spreading light, it will remain doing its job as it is destined to do!

Zahra : ``What does Gujrat has to do with this article?
It appears that the ``intellectuals`` have decided to convene at this board to discuss irrelevant subject matter.``
Zahra....great observation. Pakistanis seem to live in some cuckoo land where the entire world is talking about Modi and Gujarat and not about suicide bombers , Islam and terrorists from Pakistan. People in the west are hardly concerned about about Modi or `hindu fanatics` . .... What they worry and are scared about is whether the Pakistani guy in their bus could be carrying a bomb in his bag....
What Indians worry about is whether they can get shot or bashed for looking like Pakis or mistaken for muslims.....
Its high time Pakis wake up. Tahmed for instance seems to live in a spider hole where his only access to information is chowk. He needs to step out more often. Or visit a few popular American interactive websites instead of chowk for an hour or two - most of which are seething with hatred for Islam , muslims and now after the London incident - particularly the Pakistanis. People like Arjun , Ranjit and myself will appear dhimmis in comparison to majority of the interactors in American websites.
