the article sounds alot like moth smoke, both in style and content. dont know whether the similarity was intentional or concidential. just a thought.

stranger to stranger

ignorance is bliss they say

bliss is what we abuse to attain

ignorance surrounds us from the thought you started with to write in detail, finding those exact feelings that at times we chose to explain with words. thats what we have left at the end. when the truth comes out.... like a whisper it seems now from the call it once made.

A call to something real more then that drive to work. the drive you hate but love, but who are kidding.... now? You or Him... because those who read dont matter at the end. there just words we all use.

to connect somehow, and we do because it feels the same. But it never is ... and no one will ever know.

Asim Khan,

Good thing you are not in the ``Land of the Free and Home of the Brave``... At least in this one matter of life style choices, the ``Land of the Pure`` stands out. In my last trip back to La whore, I lit up, for old timesake, with a few buddies who were in positions of high office and had no fear of being found out (no random piss test, as the Free of the US must endure). Most sane people whom I know, and who are also of the hedonistic pursuation, prefer THC over alcohol as their preferred vehicle for mind alteration.

But dear friend, here is a HEALTH WARNING. The world has moved on, smoking is bad for the lungs. No questions. Lungs were not intended as portals of entry for various substances. Only the mouth is intended for that purpose. Smoking grass is crass. It is far better to bake brownies (or pakoRHa or papaRH) than to roll up a joint. But, if smoke it you must, at least use a water filteration device (hooka, bong etc.). Its the high temperature of the smoke that does much of the lung damage. Because the smoke density is very rare and therefore the total heat content is low, you don`t feel the ``burn``, but the tiny cellular structures on the bronchial lining do get charred.

More power to you for being so open and unapologetic. Pay no heed to the killjoys that admonish you here.

hamidm # 10 {``...marijuana, which is a natural booti and god`s gift to man, should be legalized (and actively promoted) so that people don`t resort to more destructive activites like drinking, investing in hedge funds, praying five times a day, and suicide bombing ...``}

From your mouth to the ears of God... Amen.

Re: #11
It`s true alcohol makes you aggressive and pot makes you passive. But both slow down your reflexes to a great extent. Smoking pot does it more, I know. Now slow reflexes is a hazardous condition when it comes to driving, right?

``I don’t think there is any incident of reckless driving and killing when high on charas, while damages done driving under the influence of alcohol is well documented.``
??????

Please wake up, dude! And get your facts straight.

Re: # 12

Urstruly,

The example you cite is not the norm. If you eat creamcheese excessively you will also die young. The point is, pot is a lot less sinister than alcohol. However, there are times when the outsiders cannot comprehend the insiders.

but he didn`t kill anyone else, did he ? ..... i think that is the point godot was trying to make .......... charsee drivers can be a hazard, but they are no worse than the octogenarians in florida .........

Re: # 11 Godot

I disagree. A classmate in college used to be a pothead and his life mission was to ``taste`` every narcotic substance before he died; but one thing he was regular on was ``chars``. This single pasli was known only by his nickname to most people - ``ChiRRa`` ( a male sparrow), which suited his borderline anorexic personality. Sometimes he happened to drop by at the gym, shared a joint with the gym instructor aka pehlwan and then shamed us by doing benchpresses with twice the weight that we used. He also could throw the shotputt farther than any of us could. He died young - couldn`t complete his mission - his corpse didn`t look good. The chars didn`t kill him but an infection of his testicles that enlarged them to the size of a large florida oranges did. He was reckless with someone - under the influence of chars of course.

Re: # 9

Urstruly

“whenever he (charsi) dies, he takes ten along with him.”

There is an immense difference between driving under the influence of alcohol and under charas (pot, hash.) Alcohol makes the user aggressive and causes loss of control over own body. Charas, on the other hand, makes the user passive, reflective, and panic-stricken--hence very careful in action. I don’t think there is any incident of reckless driving and killing when high on charas, while damages done driving under the influence of alcohol is well documented.

PS: I’m not condoning one should drive under any mind-altering substance.

Re: # 3

beejay,

``What do YOU expect a reader to get out of your story?``

...... please refer to godot`s #8 .............. bandar kiya janay adrak ka maza !........... thank god i am twenty five years older and have given smoking to take up socially responsible drinking and investing in hedge funds! ........... but, come to think of it, if i had to do it all over again, i would do it all over again and again and, maybe, again ............ time literally stops whan you are having fun - one day it was 1973 and a few minutes later it was 1975 ....... the only thing i missed was learning how to solve second order differential equations, but, if truth be know, i have had no need for diff eqs in the past thirty years ............. did anything else happen in 1974 ?

........... the moral of the story: marijuana, which is a natural booti and god`s gift to man, should be legalized (and actively promoted) so that people don`t resort to more destructive activites like drinking, investing in hedge funds, praying five times a day, and suicide bombing ................

Aasim

This is one heck of a confessional write-up. Very well done! It held my attention, which is not easy. However, those who are not experienced will have no clue. Good job, dude!!!
