``I support chowk deleting obnoxious posts, especially those involving sexual abuse of female chowkies (God knows we have too few of them anyways!). I also believe that the policy should be applied consistently and fairly.

{{hamidm #310 forget cichlids. Get the Pakistan Butterfly fish that people pay a small fortune to see it at equariums across the US, thus making YLH proud of you. (the ones I saw were a nice yellow color, but I found the ones below on the internet).}}
Yow!
Those PAKISTANI ``butterfly`` reef fish are very APTLY named.
They look seductively beautiful. You pay an arm & a leg to buy them. When you take them home...like TRUE Pakistani machli
they reward you by DYING (comitting suicide)...& you get an AWFUL feeling ...
like you were RIPPED OFF...GOOOOD!!!
er...does that answer your question?:))

{{........ by the way, how many cichlids can you put in a 45 gallon tank .......}}
I would say not more than 6. You might get away with 10; if you are diligent about 33% water changes every week.
{{this damn thing has been cycling for almost six weeks and the nitrite level is still in the red ...........}}
Dont add any more fish; for now. Take a sample of water every week to the bozo who sold you the set up. Make sure the tank is cycled (ie ammonia, nitrite levels fall to zero & nitrate levels slowly start to rise)...thats when you begin partial water changes....
Add 1 fish a week..carefully..
{{ the fish-man at aquatic discoveries (who looks and acts like one of your patients) has sold me more than a hundred dollars worth of ``good bacteria`` and all sorts of additives but the fishees are still dying}}
Heheh!...R-I-P-O-F-F Punjabi bakra!
``good bacteria`` (& the other CRAPOLA additives) is the BIGGEST racket in aquarium science. Tell him to give you a handful of gravel from one of his fully cycled tanks at the store. That will have enough bacteria to ``seed`` your tank.
{{- only two left ........ these two are tough so i have named them romair and salim - romair is a blue peacock who is still strutting around as if nothing is wrong, and salim is a yellow african who keeps on moving pebbles even as he is dying - i estimate he has moved about twnety times his body weight in the last two days ..}}
Moving gravel is cichild behaviour of ``establishing territory`` for himself (he`s most likely a male)...DONT get any ``women`` cichlids (unless youre interested in breeding cichlids.
All Hell breaks loose when you introduce a girl to a bunch of horny guys...kinda what happens in this lunatic asylum...
Lastly, if you name one of your piscian friend Romair...he will be doomed to be a man without a territory, without an identity & COMPLETELY clueless in analysing data...but remains optimistic about ``scoring``; just the same!

countries with muslim populations need to take care of the nutcases they have created and nourished on their own - west is already helping by being extremely patient with the ummah.

Tahmed: You are again drifting into the series of flippant remarks. Why should you name interactors when they are not around? They may be liberal, atheist, staunch in their beliefs, and/or whatever. If you have valid points to make then why do you need to come down to this approach? I want to check you here since you are leaning in the same direction.
I am sure the readers will care less when such kind of behavior is displayed by the random nicks and immature brats, but this does not suit you. Please carefully analyze your communication style.

Mr. Dost-Mittar, {``Since you singled out my name, I would like to set the record straight.``}
Thank you sir for setting the record straight. By stating ``I also believe that the policy should be applied consistently and fairly`` you have essentially vindicated me. Let`s say that I get trapped into ``shouting matches`` usually instigated by a couple of well-known miscreants, several of them ``females,`` and a couple of them of undetermined gender.
Also, I appreciate your kind words of praise and encouragement. I have resolved NOT to participate in Chowk UP discussions and will try my best NOT to get trapped by some of these same people who will, undoubtedly come to FP just to fight with me.
While I may not have forgotten about the July 2004 massacre, I have certainly forgiven all and request the same from those I may have adversely impacted. I respect you as an interesting and informed interactor who is always willing to share his considerable experiences.
Thanks,

Salim#280:
Since you singled out my name, I would like to set the record straight.
I oppose and have opposed banning anyone on chowk. At one time I specifically mentioned that I was uncomfortable interacting here if you and atif were banned because of me.
I support chowk deleting obnoxious posts, especially those involving sexual abuse of female chowkies (God knows we have too few of them anyways!). I also believe that the policy should be applied consistently and fairly.
The same policy should apply to me. I do not think that any of my posts have violated chowk guidelines. Even the post in which I made reference to the Prophet marrying his daughter-in-law was inappropriate but did not include any vulgarity. [I thought that it was old and forgotten but not apparently by you!]
I also think that you are one of the most brilliant and witty posters, right behind hamidm, but you should resist the temptation to use derogatory language against female posters. Someitmes, it appears that you believe in ``ek sunaar ki sau lauhar ki`` instead of the other way round.

Zahra (#189):
You are partly right in that tahmed is not obligated to apologize. This somewhat depends upon how obligation is defined. It may be defined in a legal context or on basis of civility. In the latter case, I think he owed me one. I don’t think one can argue otherwise.
He was very blatant in airing seriously dirty remarks against me … and went on to expand on his senseless tirade. I summarized this earlier (#159), so will avoid repetition. After being evasive, he is yet to admit wrongdoing on his part. Is this being succinct? What about being forthright? Or are we playing with words here?
I admit that I have raised this issue to the point of unpleasantness. I am accordingly sorry for doing so. This issue would have been better resolved if Sahib had not initiated such a tirade in the first place, or realized his error when it was pointed out the first time, or the second time, or the third time. In any case, I am sorry for causing this stir.
I decided to forgo the issue and to leave it between him and his good judgment. If he feels he did not blunder, then yes, he shouldn’t admit to wrongdoing on his part. If he felt momentarily under outside pressure to offer an apology, and apologized for “sattar getting offended”, then I am sorry that he felt sorry.
OK Zahra je, let me ask you this: If a person levels absolutely filthy charges against you in public … belittles your loved ones … and when reminded of his behavior, continues to act in a belligerent manner … and later apologizes for Zahra getting offended … would you find such an apology acceptable?
Please take a moment to thoroughly reflect on this. And if your answer is a resounding “yes” … then I’ll trust your better judgment and accept tahmed’s apology.

``And I see you maintained national honor by providing finally a comeback to Shankar`s ``Allah Hafiz``. i.e. ``Ram, Ram``.``
Idiot. ``Ram Ram`` is a greeting used by bhaiyyas from the gangetic planes. Shankar is a proud south Indian kannadiga brahmin from Karnataka , where Ganesha or Ganapati is the #1 God and Mr.Ram is relegated to the backround. Try ``Jai Ganesha`` instead.
