… but I was being philosophical all along! Didn’t you read my ramblings about religious bent as well as personal failures (and to think I poured out my guts to a total stranger for nothing … this really hurts)? Frequent use of f-word belongs not to the religious part but to the failure part. Although I admit I find its frequent use quite liberating … and wish I could use it more openly at the office. Ok … so I have a foul mouth. But is this really so bad? Must you complain about every little thing that is wrong in this world??

On a somewhat serious note … earlier, way back, I apologized to you fearing that I may have gone too far in pinning a few jokes on you … and to clarify that my intentions were completely, absolutely, with a doubt, unconditionally … honorable. The “honorable intentions” part was important because you-know-who accused me of trying to pick up you-know-who!!!! My realization came within a day or so of my remarks … and I extended a sincere apology without any ifs and buts. Why would you think it was a sham??? Contrast this with his apology … where after being reminded several times … during which he reaffirmed his accusations … he makes light of the matter and calls it jokes that I took too seriously … before suggesting he never made such remarks! C’mon Zahra je … can’t you tell the difference?

And if tahmed will be sending his wife bonsai plants, do you really want me to take the same route … and send his wife bonsai plants? You know this will start another round of accusations (not to mention the use of f-word) … and him and I both will need to get aroma therapy … which will probably cost more than a dollar-ninety-nine … esp. since my hmo will probably refuse to pay for any of this ...

And if this new age fluff is a way to express emotions and feelings (here we go again) … what the heck were people doing before the internet and overnight shipping of bonsai plants? The world is NOT very complicated. The inhabitants make it more convoluted based on their unique communication styles. You were upset at a series of remarks by an interactor therefore you bombarded your posts with f words. Others may not choose that route - they may express their aggravation differently. Were you following some kind of religious ritual by repeating the f word? I just thought I would rub it in since you happened to promote your religious bent of mind. I did not realize that the f word was part of the religious bent of mind. How amusing!!!

What you consider new age stuff is basically a way to express human emotions and feelings. You are not obligated to follow the same rituals if you do not believe in them. But don`t start preaching against them since you do NOT know how to utilize them effectively.

Lastly, my final recommendation to you is to join a weekend long yoga retreat where you can only inhale fragranced candles and patchouli incense. California is blessed with such outdoor programs/activities. Rather than being a warrior on this board, I recommend that you stay in Warrior 1 and 2 poses for a day or two. You will be a different (more pleasant) Sattar.

I do not believe that people say sorry for no reason. I would never say sorry to someone if I didn `t mean it. I would care less for anyone on this board or anywhere else. It`s an internal call. In the same token, I do not believe that tahmed extended an apology to you for no reason. Probably, he realized his own weakness and truly meant to apologize. Why is it so difficult to give him the benefit of doubt here?

Just to jog your memory: You had apologized to me way back for something as well. I was not in the loop regarding why you brought my name into the conversation so I ended up seeing an apology from you. I could have taken your apology as a sham. I did not. I have rarely conversed with you, so I was not even sure why you brought my name into the picture. I think it is the same article where TAhmed had made his remark. I hope you can connect the links now. If not then you need to consult your physician for further instructions on your overall well being!

Lastly, either you have the appreciation for Bonsai Plants or you don`t. So, it`s fine if you do not have the appreciation. This is what I emphasized in post #354 … and this is what I find lacking in discussions with tahmed Sahib. I don’t think he has a sense of shame or remorse over his remarks. I am giving him a taste of his own medicine … so please don’t pin all the blame on me here.

Probable reasons for double-standards …

Salim seems to praise tahmed Sahib quite a bit … which I think has blinded tahmed Sahib and compromised his sense of civility. On the other hand, when tahmed tried to push his biblical morality on me, I simply told him to shove it. I think this burned tahmed Sahib, and overtime, prompted him to fabricate filth against me, since I had fallen out of favor with him.

And the apology …

Read his apology again … (#153). He is sorry that his remarks offended me. He makes it sound like it is my fault that I got offended. How about being sorry that his remarks were actually low, baseless, incorrect, and offensive???

He goes on to say that sattar obviously took tahmed’s remarks too seriously. For an upper caste hindu to get a seat in electronics in a top Bangalore college like RVCE, he/she has to get a rank of under 200 (out of 25,000 applicants). Under 200 means an average in PCM of 97%.

But a student fortunate enough to be born to dalit parents can get the same seat with a ranking of 7000 , and with just 70% in PCM.

Same pattern exists every where ...medical colleges , IITs , IAS selection etc. etc. And now dalits want reservation in the private sector....

Actually masanmuthu is a beneficiary of caste system...since lower caste hindus are reserved 50% of the seats in engineering/medical colleges and in government jobs , and are well looked after by the sugar daddy government though out their career. Its advantageous to be classified as `low caste hindu` in India.

Its upper caste hindus like Harimau who feel resentful towards caste system because they have no choice but to compete on basis of merit , % and grades. No short cuts for them.

I dont blame you for being resentful of the caste system. It reinforces my belief that when religion extends beyond being a personal matter between man and God, and into social or political institutions, then both religion and those institutions are corrupted. This is what has happened in Pakistan as well of course - and we too have our own social evils as a result. Even in the US, the interference of the religious right in politics (stem cell research, teaching of science in schools) is very damaging to this great nation. The result is that on a cost-benefits scale, religion does much more harm than good I think. Which is sad, since (seen as a personal matter for the individual), religion can do lots of good.

I somehow chanced on this website and becoming a member was not my intention.. (Actually I did not want any kind of association with Pakistan.. that too at this period in time..) But just to refute the constant allegations of ``harimau`` I took the plunge..
