Yes..I`m sure you felt like Neo when he came out of the matrix...Things aren`t as rosy as you imagined in the echo-chamber, but you`re better off in the long run....

I`m afraid most pakis will choose the blue pill...

#3, Arjun,
I say ``force open the doors to the echo chamber.`` :) Unless they are singing the national anthem that no one understands. It actually sounds better in the echo chamber. I know, I used to live in it, a few months ago.

Haqqani was very critical of the “glibness” of Pakistanis and their immediate denial of problems associated with them.

I watched his appearance on Book TV with Steve Coll and Robert Oakley......He said some interesting things about Pakistan`s support to militant Islamic jihadis....

The problem is: Most pakistanis live in the echo-chamber of self-delusion..Even after the indigenous freedom fighting groups have been banned and a bunch of pakis have been deported, they still hang on to the myth of the never-supported-jihad-jinnah-aug-11th-speech-quoting abdul paki...

the rest of the world lives outside the paki echo chamber of self-delusion...hence the disconnect..and the t-shirt with the paki flag...the shirt idea, i`m sure, was a huge hit in the echo chamber...but when you step outside the echo chamber wearing this t-shirt, it`s a one-way ticket to canuckistan or karachi..

Ras,
Thank you for sharing these obvious facts and words of wisdom. Unfortunately, instead of listening to facts, understanding issues, and discussing solutions, many Pakis tend to circle the wagons, silence the dissenters, and ostracize those who dare to utter the truth.

Is it any wonder that Pakis (whether right, left, or even center) are among the most intolerant people in the world?

As far as {``“Why are Pakistan’s literacy rates so low?” he asked. He said that outsiders cannot be blamed for that. He compared statistics on literacy rates in Pakistan with its neighbors before revisiting his main point.``}

May I suggest that the low literacy rate could be related to sending too many of our young students to study in UAE or other Arabic schools and madrassas. The Arabs have not advanced scholastically since the 12th century. :)
