Re: # 3
Although I can concur that the poem does seem a bit patriarchial for my own taste, and the rhyming is not the best, I would have to argue that not all rhyming poems are crap. Before you go and call someone else a mindless zombie I think you should look at yourself. Being that apposed to a simple poem is a real issue. You should try to control your own temper. Then and only then may the possibility exist that anyone would care to hear what you have to say. Constructive criticism and direct attacks are completely different things.

She: The Real Woman of Today
August 30, 2005

She is the daughter,
Whose parents dump her off
To in-laws who care not
They burn her with kerosene
Her voice cries out in pain,
As body dies before its time.

She is the beloved,
Whose “lover” makes her believe
Love is all about giving in,
And leaves her with all her dreams
That she will never achieve.

She is the wife,
Who’s too scared to complain,
And always the better half of pain,
She would retain.

She’s the mother,
Whose kids won’t care,
Soon as wings they develop,
Not a moment she’d get.

She is the phenomenal woman,
The woman for ALL times
And homes in ALL places
Who has a vision of her own,
On how to survive so
There is still hope and a path
For her little daughter to go!

Urstruly: Even the word ``woman`` has a patriarchial reference. Actually women usually are okay with patriarchy as long as you do not tell them that is the case. :0)

priyanka that was nice. But it sounded more like a love letter from a man to his lover (girl friend/wife). did you get this in the mail?

you slave minded zombie, your poetry is rife with patriarchal references and it rhymes, therefore, it stinks.

priyanka,
wonderful ` You are the mother,
Who’s the kids’ best friend,
And even after coming from work,
She’d find quality time to spend`

Mother of to day have more challenges and she is facing all in the best way.

kaurasach,
the type is a bit rare but still exists.
