so apparently according to chowk-staff, spamming is more of an offense than advocacy of industrial scale rape of muslim women by hindus on this website. this stance of chowk-staff very clearly proves my contention that chowk is run by a bunch of self-loathing muslims with the help of conniving indians. i give credit to resident pakistanis for recognizing this and voting with their feet. in case people had not noticed, the number of interactors on this website who are residents of pak is exactly zero.

bbabu:
with due respects to you and your lot, don`t think you have much respect for your self or your roots and rich cultural heritage..if you did you would understand why it`s important to be concerned about not just your family and friends, but others as well, including habitants of your new `home`..please stop being self centred; i hate to beleive that you simply follow the principle of, `me, myself and i`..
regards,
InanannaSalome`49

I had a serious question for those desis who are US citizens. Why do we worry too much about folks in the sub-continent ? I can see concern for personal friends and relatives. Shouldn`t we be looking at how to improve the society we are living in ?

Ras Sahib:
Assalamu`alaikum!
It`s so refreshing to read your well written, vivid piece, as it takes me down memory lane and makes me stay parked..wish I could be there forever..
`From a great distance today I mourn a paradise lost for not the first but the second time.
We immigrants may not be rich in material but in memories we often are millionaires`.....
`Although not everything was pleasant then, people “back home” still somehow were able to retain their dignity amidst a great deal of poverty`.
Nothing could be truer than these statements.
There are two fairyands lost..1971 and 2005..If you know what I mean..
By the way, I`d like to congratulate you on your poem, `Bangladesh Memories`; it evoked in me the `pains` ; my eyes welled in tears..
Thank you for your eloquent writing!!

Earth quake a turning point,
It is likely that the earth quake could be a turning point for pakistan. Tyhe NATO and US troops are in POK, and they are there to clean up the taliban training camps. There is going to be attack on them by the taliban in pakistan and then we will see the changes in pakistan.
There is hardly any money for the victims, but the troopps are in, a very desirable outcome for the world. But in any case it was the POK people behind the traing camps and the world feeling for them is reflected in teh donations.

`` America in its haste to see the Soviets defeated in Afghanistan did not experience the fallout till much later.``
Ras,
The above quote betrays your understanding of teh situation. US support for jihad was only a trigger point, pakistan was ripe for a jihadic awakening, jihad and hatered for non-muslims is teh core of TNT. Hence what Zia did and the jihadis etc are a pure growth of pakistan along a path set by the TNT. Long long after afghanistan and iraq has changed pakistan will continue to be a hot bed of jihad. It has become a social value, reinforced by education and a general sup[port by teh educated of pak society.
Musheraff, the great president stopped the foreign travel of a rape victim as it was bad image for pakistan, Tanweers body was welcomed by him as it waas an image booster for pakistan. Ras if you can just think about it, why should a bvritish national be buried in pakistan, well he is a shaeed, it is the home to al teh shaeeds, as required by TNT.

Excellent stuff, Ras. Must read it again for further comment. This earthquake shall remain with us for quite some time.

I commend your desire to help out and your efforts at motivating others to do likewise. Although there is a natural urge to look for divine explanations and deeper meanings, an earthquake is a very natural phenomenon – only we as human beings are not very used to its scales – both of time and magnitude. In reality, we are insignificant dots on the nature’s canvas – most of the beauty is elsewhere – and it does not fade.
I would like to quote the following lines from the late poet Nirala.
“Shesh hai dinmaan
Jeewan ka – punar-nirmaan kar
Dhwasta jo-kuchh ho gaya hai
Wah kaheen kya khi gaya hai
Ankurit ho jayenge phir
Beej nish-chit bo gaya hai!
Punar nirmaan kar
Nirman kar….”
“Daylight remains
Rebuild the life
And lost is not
Destroyed what was
Sure will re-grow
Planted it seed
Indeed
So build again
Just build…”
